The caper sauce they served with the fish was an attempt at a dill aioli replica, but it really missed the mark. Our server was sweet, but completely unaware she was pouring water onto our kiddo while serving. I just love little diners. It's a pretty small restaurant with a very friendly staff. They have a nice variety of meals, and their prices are incredibly reasonable; I got a large salad for under $11, and my sister got a small one for under $9. The small one at home would have easily been $12- $15 at home! Both were huge! I took home probably 2/3 of mine and half of my sister's. and got 2 more meals out of it. And their iced tea was freshly brewed and they kept refilling our glasses. They also had a variety of pies, although we didn't want any. They do charge 3% for using credit cards, but they also make it abundantly clear before you pay; there are signs on both doors, another by the register, and they also tell you. I actually complimented them on how they inform their customers of that fact. If you're hungry and near the Village Kitchen, it is absolutely worth stopping.
