We recently traveled to Angola to enjoy the toboggan run at Pokagon State Park And stopped here for coffee. It was the most delightful café we have seen in quite a while. The mocha was perfect. It was so perfect we went back the next day to have another! On the second trip back I brought my granddaughter. She is our chocolate fiend! She took home a brownie for the rest of the family but while there she had the most awesome slice of chocolate cake. I have enclosed a picture of that deep rich dark chocolate cake after she had started into it! I highly recommend that you take the time to stop here During our visit we met the owner. Omg!!! What a hidden gem!!!!! E we were running late out of the ice rink and I thought for sure they were closed. I noticed their open sign still on. Ran from the parking lot near the roundabout to the store. They were super nice we ordered 2 croissant sandwiches, cold brew, cortado, triple hot chocolate and a cookie. Everything was amazing, hubby is in love with their cold brew. I'm in love with their cortado, my child is in love with the hot chocolate. It's a shame we found this place just before heading home. read more

The food, no matter breakfast or lunch is very good, the coffee, and other drinks impress me, plus the benefit of knowing you're supporting a private business that flourishes against public businesses. Cute cafe in the heart of Angola. They have a ton of syrup options and lots of drinks options. I tried the maple macchiato which was a classic carmel macchiato with maple syrup. My MIL tried a coffee with a pump of pumpkin syrup and enjoyed it. They offer diary alternatives. The woman working the counter was very nice and helpful. They offer some pastries and were offering chicken salad and a specialty panini on the day we went. Didn't try any food but might the next time I'm in town! Was in Angola to go to pick up some paint at Sherwin Williams and found myself looking for some fresh coffee and a little food for some energy before a long day. Thanks to Yelp I was directed to the square and to Caleo Cafe. This place is a throwback to era long gone. As a business the Caleo Cafe is a refreshing change of pace from the corporate chain culture across the USA. From the brick wall to the exposed ceiling, the pictures on the wall to the seating area, their chalkboard specials on the wall to to their hard wood floors, and from the nick nacks and bistro seating; their decor and the building are unique. I was greeted walking in, asked if I had been there before and given the rundown when I said no, and I quickly placed and received my order. They weren't that busy and the service was fast and very friendly. I got a cup of awesomely strong coffee and a breakfast sandwich that was better than anything I could have ordered from McDonalds or Burger King on my way north. I knew they had good reviews on Yelp but I didn't expect such an awesome change of pace. This place is great for Angola and I have no problem recommending them to anyone living, working, or travelling through northeast Indiana. read more

We are fortunate to live within walking distance of Caleo and spend a lot of time there. Far and away the best coffee in town and amazing baked goods as well. The staff is tremendous, particularly the owner, Irene. It is obvious she genuinely appreciates the business and strives to make sure every customer is happy. My go to is the Obsidian roast, done as a pour over. They are happy to offer French press or pour over, in addition to brewed coffee and any espressso-based drink you can imagine. read more

This coffee shop is truly a place to enjoy! The aesthetics, the fresh coffee beans, pleasant and helpful staff, soothing music, all make this a place to relish downtime! And, within the downtown area!!! Great break from shopping or if you need a caffeine fix from a hectic Monday. I had the French Press and it was smooth and delicious. I also bought a bag of beans as a Christmas present for my son and his wife. The kiosk bakery selections from Auburn's Classic City Cookies were also a treat during the Christmas season. Was on the hunt for a good coffee shop while visiting Lake James for the week and I finally found it!!! This place is my new happy place! The baristas are professional and know what they are doing. We met The owner of this cute little cafe and she was very kind in answering our questions and just what you'd expect from a local coffee shop owner in her friendly and pleasant attitude! She made us a cup of lavender spearmint tea and a cold lemonade. Both were great. Today I'm enjoying a latte which is excellent. There is plenty of seating with a few couches and chairs as well. Amazing customer service and food! I wanted to surprise my Mom and her friend with something special for their birthdays and discovered Caleo Cafe and boy this sure is a gem. After seeing the menu online I decided to go with breakfast and a slice of cake for each, but I wasn't sure how I would be able to get it to their home, as I live nearly 3 hrs away. I called the day before and spoke with the lovely owner about my plan and she graciously agreed to deliver the two bacon, egg and cheese croissants and slices of carrot cake and chocolate cake at a designated time the next morning. It ended up being a rainy morning but she arrived right on time and the surprise was pulled off perfectly. Feedback on the food was "OMG delicious!" The Caleo Cafe's of the world are few and far between and it is my hope that everyone will support this amazing spot as much as possible. I'll do my best to spread the word to the folks of Angola. We are admittedly self proclaimed coffee snobs from Columbus Ohio. We have so many great coffee shops there (Staufs, Luck Bros., Brioso) and our move to Angola was rough after visiting many of the local coffee shops here. Most taste like scalded milk with an over abundance of syrup and you can barely taste the coffee. We've visited every shop here and were so disappointed that we've been making the 50 min drive to Ft Wayne to get a decent cup (Friendly Fox, Fortezza are good). Finally stumbled across Caleo Cafe and we are driving to Ft Wayne a lot less. The coffee is great, the decor is also nice and we like the record player that patrons can use with a great selection of records (herb alpert, Beatles to name a few). The owner is really nice too and after only a couple visits she remembers our orders the minute we walk in. So far this is the only coffee shop worth visiting if you care about the taste of your coffee. read more
