Totally worth a drive out to Medina for some tacos or a torta. It's a beautiful drive from Buffalo…read moreinto Medina and you should go through the Iroquois nature preserve on the drive. The taco truck is open Friday Saturday and Sunday and there are several socially distanced picnic tables outside, some with umbrellas and some without. It was a nice day so we sat in the sun. My diablas torta (chorizo & carne asada) was delicious with slices of avocado, onion, lettuce and peppers. Unlike most tortas I've had they were light with the mayo which is appreciated when you're having something as decadent as chorizo and steak. The bread was amazing and fresh as well. Great sandwich. The bf has lengua, carnitas and diabla tacos and enjoyed them all. We had horchata and Jamaica to drink. The Jamaica was not too sweet which was nice. The horchata was very good. My biggest problem with the aguas frescas set up was the multitude of yellow jackets attacking the drink dispensers which were set up for self service. I had wanted limonada but the bees were particularly interested in the dispenser for that one. We also checked out the store next door and picked up a packet of hot homemade tamales (also delicious) as well as some chorizo, hot sauce and drinks. Highly recommended weekend trip.

The closest thing we've found to tacos that remind us of home- LA. It's well with the drive for us!read more

Monte Alban Taco Truck - Monte Alban's yummy Quesadilla. I'd rather have a quesadilla than a drugdilla.

Taco Tuesday's are busy! Anticipate a wait for the dining room if you go around the dinner hour…read more Thankfully we found two open seats at the bar at 6pm. I always enjoy the chips and salsa at Mexican restaurants and Rancho Viejo did not disappoint. We had hot chips and fresh salsa on the counter within several minutes of being seated. The margarita was refreshing and boozy. Standard fare was offered on their menu: rice, beans, enchiladas, tacos and more. The food arrived piping hot and quickly after ordering. It's nothing to write home about and it satisfied our craving for tacos on Tuesday. There was a hustle and bustle in the dining room as they were short staffed on the evening we visited. We appreciated the prompt service we had at the bar. Our only complaint was the bathrooms were gross. If you're looking for reasonably priced margaritas, chips & salsa with a standard rice 'n beans dinner, Rancho Viejo is your spot.

Got seated right away (idk if we had a reservation or not lol) but the waiter was rude and disrespectful to an old black woman in our group who was nothing but kind to him. He up charged us by giving us something completely different than we asked for that costed more. He (server) walked away part way through when someone in our group was talking to him. Disrespectful and disgusting food. I've been to their last location too across from Tim hortans and the food was just as bad. That time I ordered a quesadilla and it came served in a POOL of water??? Just odd.

The menu had plenty of options to choose from. I went with the la bandera and was not disappointed. Everything was delicious! The chips and salsa were addictive to say the least.

Taqueria Los Amigos is located in the main historic downtown area of Geneva right around the corner…read morefrom the Finger Lakes Welcome Center. Prices are fairly reasonable and they have a lunch menu which allows for a budget friendly, smaller portioned mid-day meal. Interiors are festive and ambiance was nice, but they haven't done a great job with upkeep as paint on the walls was chipped away in places and some of the dishes had minor chips around the edges. Meals start off with complimentary chips and salsa, which hit the spot for something to munch on as we were hungry driving up the length of Seneca Lake from Watkins Glen. To start off, we ordered the nachos with cheese (3.5/5) which had a great blend of cheese without that overly strong cheesy flavor. For meals, we got the vegetarian plate, a chicken chimichanga, and a side chicken quesadilla. Portion sizes of each of these were huge and perfect for sharing. The vegetarian plate (4/5) consisted of an enchilada, a tostada with salad, and rice. The chicken chimichanga (4.5/5) came with 2 mini chimichangas, a side salad, rice, and beans. The chicken quesadilla (4/5) was a generous portion of shredded chicken in a really delicious tasting corn tortilla which was very flavorful. Overall, everything was well above average in taste and did a great job in filling us up for a late lunch. Service (3.5/5) was warm and friendly for the most part, but it did take a while for the waitress to come over to take our order for meals after initially getting our drinks and appetizers. While it wasn't a big deal to us, we were overcharged by a dollar on the chicken quesadilla over what was listed on the menu price (it was such a generous portion and worth the price, so we didn't mention anything). Overall, Taqueria Los Amigos is a solid option for a Mexican meal in downtown Geneva.
