Mom and pop shops like this one have a special place in my heart. Cheap takeout places have a special place in my diet. This place was an epic find so close to home. The nihari beef was delicious and had great depth of flavor. The chicken curry was wonderfully savory. Everything was wonderful. It's not the best indian food I've ever had, but at its price point that's not the focus. And getting to taste personal recipes from an independant Indian family, that sort of heritage and home cooking is unbeatable. read more

This is a hole in the wall type place tucked away in a shopping center off of Washington Rd. There are a couple of tables, but it's mostly a takeout place so don't expect to eat inside. The owners are friendly and accommodating to special requests. I'm vegan and they are knowledgeable about which of the vegetarian items can be made vegan. My favorites are veggie biryani, chana masala, samosas, pakora, and the pakora wrap. Just let them know if you're vegan as some of those items do normally come with yogurt. (For all you meat-eaters... I used to eat here before I was vegan and the meat options are also delicious.) read more

This little place is sorta of tucked off the beaten path. It's only counter service and they take carry out orders over various apps. I've tried a few butter paneer dishes around the city, and I do think this is the best one I've had yet! The little chickpea, veggie fritters were delicious! The dipping sauce has a little kick but not super spicy! The only reason I didn't give it all 5 stars was because I was disappointed in the naan bread (which to me is necessary with Indian food). I was excited to try this restaurant because of the reviews. Who wouldnt want fast food indian food. We went in there and beeep, waited for our order, beeeep click ka-chunk, to be taken, beep click ka-chunk, order taken, beeeep click ka-chunk, long wait, beep click ka-chunk. Sigh.. what we figured out from all the beeping was they were microwaving their food and it pretty much tasted like it. The samosa chaat was disappointing. one samosa cut in half that had obviously been fried earlier in the day then microwaved but the chaat was pretty good. We got the chicken masala. The rice was good and the sauce tasted ok but had no heat to it at all and the chicken was cooked into oblivion and tasted microwaved. I was in the mood for Indian food and wanted something new, so I decided to give Lahore a shot. The menu had pretty much everything you'd expect, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that all the food was very reasonably priced. It appears to be a family-owned establishment; a nice lady took my order at the counter, and a man who I assume was her husband brought the food out when it was done. Since it was my first time there, I decided to keep it simple and just grab some chicken tikka masala with a side of naan. The wait time wasn't very long once I placed my order...maybe ten minutes give or take. When the food arrived, it was piping hot and smelled delicious, so I couldn't wait to get it home. The naan was very good, especially dipped in the masala sauce, and the masala itself was also great. I normally prefer mine with a nice kick of chili heat, but this tikka masala forewent the chilis and stuck to milder, but still very flavorful spices, which I still enjoyed very much. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. I'll be a bit bolder and try something different next time I go. read more

We got their boxed food for a fund raising lunch event at our school........each box had butter chicken, chick peas, naan and rice with a bottle of water. The serving size was large enough to take home for dinner. The food was delicious, hot and just the right kind of spicy. We even got coupons for 10% off on our next visit to the restaurant which we promptly redeemed within a week. It is a family run business with a very friendly environment.
