Good Friday this year wasn't just good its was great!! Captain Thor and Mate Gina more than once mentioned that it may be rough seas, it would be cold and we would undoubtedly get wet and they couldn't have been any more correct, that also reminded us that fish may be sparse. Well I'm here to tell you that they were 3/4 correct, rough, cold and wet it was but fishing they missed the call because it was fantastic. two young grandsons an adult son and me the old man on board had a terrific time. Thor and Gina were the best hosts anyone could imagine, they take you to where the fit are, they're fisherman don't confuse this experience as a nature or simple ocean experience, this is a hold on to your hats, stay seated and get ready for an all out fun, fantastic ride to the buoys to find some fish! Memories were made that won't be forgotten with the stories of the 5 Mahi's we brought back with us and the whale and dolphin pods we were so lucky to encounter. This is the "reel" deal experience you want when you say I want to go ocean fishing. Worth every penny for the experience and memories of an early morning somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. We had an absolutely amazing experience with Lahaina Maritime and would highly recommend booking a trip with them! The captain and first mate were incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip enjoyable from start to finish. You can tell they really know what they're doing and genuinely want everyone to have a great experience. The fishing was excellent -- we caught Mahi Mahi, and they were an absolute blast to fight and reel in. Such a fun experience! On top of that, we got to see dolphins during the trip, which was awesome, and the sunrise while we were catching bait was absolutely beautiful. The boat itself is gorgeous, very well-kept, and extremely comfortable. Riding between fishing spots was so relaxing, but when it was time to move, those three 400hp outboards made that boat absolutely fly! This trip was 100% worth booking, and it was easily one of the highlights of our time here. We'll definitely be back next year and will absolutely book with Lahaina Maritime again! read more

The Captain and crew were top notch from the second we met him at the boat to the time he finished filet ing up fish and handed us several large bags of filets to take home. When we arrived Captain Thor told us the weather forecast had changed dramatically overnight and the plan we had discussed the day before didn't look so promising. He gave us several options and his suggestions but left it up to us to decide. Definitely not like those "Disneyland" type chargers that have a set route and won't vary for anything. We got to make bait and yes that is fun too! On the way to the target zone we caught a nice Ono so the skunk was off. Once in the zone we caught 4 of 5 nice Mahi. One was able to throw the hook during an aerial exhibition! We had a smooth ride home with a box full of fish. We went for a Fishing Experience and were rewarded with a fantastic fishing and catching trip. We had an excellent trip on Social Distancing with captain Thor and first mate Gina. The captain and first mate both excelled in key communications relative to safety procedures, fishing instructions, and sight seeing/Hawaiian/ocean biology insights. We knew what to expect and when to act!!!! My family felt welcome and safe on their amazing vessel - Social Distancing. Additionally, their fishing setup and gear are top notch and i have fished from Cabo, La Paz, and many sites along the east bank. Great Morning with Captain Thor and Gina. My son and I decided to go fishing while we are here on vacation. Started the day early with a discussion of options, really demonstrating that the trip was being catered to us. Still dark out, we stopped and fished for bait using lights to draw them in, which was pretty fun. Once we had a live bait supply we were off to get some Mahi. Three Mahi in the boat in the first half hour !! Overall a wonderful day with great company, we finished the trip out with a bottle nose dolphin riding our surf and encountered some grays on the way back to port. I have been fishing with them for several years now and they are incredibly knowledgeable about this fishery. They grew up here and have fished their entire lives. OMG!!! What an awesome experience! Johnny and Gina were both great guides. We caught so many fish (11 Mahi Mahi, 4 huge tuna). The biggest tuna must have been 60 lbs. It was so exciting reeling in The giant Mahi and the giant tuna. Even fishing for the bait was super fun. 4 hooks on the line for bait and we brought up 1-4 mackerel (4 hooks per line) each time at dawn. Took us about 5 minutes to catch our 30-40 bait fish. The trip was definitely a memorable experience, which will last a lifetime! Can't recommend this company highly enough! If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! Thanks Thor, Johnny and Gina. We had an excellent trip with Thor and Gina! The pre-trip communication was excellent, Thor left a detailed voicemail regarding some last minute adjustments due to a marathon taking place in the area. They were very accommodating. They started by stating several alternatives, then asking us what we preferred. They were very flexible. The fishing was good, we had a bonus of seeing whales up close and personal. After our return to the dock, they filleted our fish and packed them for us. They suggested a cooking method, which we followed and the fish were delicious! Captain Jon and crew Gina were amazing, the boat is very fast and we were able to get offshore to some good fishing spots that worked with the wind and the waves. Its a different spot each time depending on the ocean. The crew had three types of bait ready to go in each spot and the crew made it super easy. We caught live bait in the morning too. We were very happy with the fish we caught, and it was cleaned and packed for us at the dock. The crew works hard and hustles to find and catch the fish, and it shows in the success. I think we have mahi mahi for the next two months! read more

Awesome trip! Thor started with clear communications over logistics and questions regarding our fishing experience and goals of the day. Left early, sunrise over Maui jigging bait and getting a great introduction to the variety of local fisheries and marine life was a great way to start the day. We "hammered" a total of 8 Mahi Mahi having a blast in that magic blue water, with several doubles! Thor and Gina were fantastic. Captain Thor called me the night before to set expectations which I really appreciated. When you have a 13 yr old that just wants a fish on the line, it is important to set proper expectations. They exceeded those expectations by a long shot. Captain Thor and his deck hand Gina were great. The conditions were difficult leading up to fishing day. Atmospheric pressure and prior storm added to the mix but they still managed to put us on some fish and provide an excellent experience. The boat was extremely comfortable and fast, We fished numerous spots and they were not fearful to make a change. They worked very hard to create a successful experience and they achieved that. Had a great time and the captain was very knowledgable about the area. Him and his deckhand did a wonderful job answering questions and elaborating on the history of fishing in Hawaii and all of the species we were out to catch. The boat is a 10 out of 10. We are pretty sure we are the only boat that caught fish that day on the we went out. Super trip. Heading out early to catch live bait. We actually saw sperm whales which are really rare to see. Still had time to catch a couple of big Mahi, Mahi, and a large Ono.
