I used Yelp to get a quote for smogging my pick up truck because for some reason they charge more when the work is the same. Just plug into the OBDII port as any other passenger vehicle. Anyways Laguna Smog gave a price $5 more than the cheapest place so I went Laguna because it's just down the street in addition that I've been there before and it wasn't worth driving further with a truck that only gets 12 mpg. Laguna Smog's office is clean, uncluttered and most of all air conditioned. The guys running the place are men of few words even after I gave a compliment on their boat. It looks like maybe a North River maybe 20 ft or so. I think my boating owning days are over. I can't afford anything anymore in this damn state full of liberals wanting to get rid of gas and diesel vehicles with gas consistently $3 dollars more than the rest of country and now wanting to ban 70% of tires. I'm writing this review for my Pops. My Dad went to the business for a smog Van didn't pass and he had the issue repaired went back for his free retest and was told that Van needed to be driven a few more miles and was told by an employee to return they will do it then. He returned and was charged again for retest. My father has been using this business for 10 years or so for his vehicles. The owner was rude and showed remorse as stated his case. My smog check was due and I usually follow my dad's recommendation for smog stations. My experiences have been meh in the past and usually I go more towards Sacramento for smog checks. I found Laguna Smog after a quick Yelp search and saw the great reviews, so I sent a Yelp message to the business to setup an appointment and a quote is offered, too. Nick (believe the owner) responded quickly and mentioned that no appointment was necessary, which was super convenient since my work schedule can be unpredictable. I appreciated that the pricing was transparent, since you may not get the chance to ask during a walk-in appointment, as the process of getting checked in can happen so quickly. I've also seen other businesses where reviewers can charged unexpectedly higher prices, as well. The shop is in a cul de sac and there's a sign to indicate where you should park. I was quickly greeted by a person (presumably Nick). He had me fill out info about my car and I provided the car key. I hung out for about 15 minutes and the smog check was done! The price was as quoted. They definitely take card and there's no extra charge for it. Service was friendly. Went to Laguna Smog for a my bi-annual smog for my 1992 Honda Accord. Nick was able to provide me with an honest upfront quote online and made sure I was aware that there would not be a free retest if the car did not pass. I appreciated the honesty and friendly interaction we had. That being said they took my car in right away and it was done in no time. They have a nice waiting room where I had a pleasant conversation with other patrons while waiting and the other customers (who had been here before) had great things to say to about Laguna Smog and I agree with them. Needed to get my car smogged right away and this was one of a few that was opened passed 5 PM! I called and asked if they were still accepting walk-ins and they said they sure do! I came into a very quiet lobby. There were only two other people in the lobby and very shortly after one of the customers left. They have a water dispenser and restrooms for the customers which is nice. The guy who helped me was friendly but quick. He took my keys and got right to work. Also, please mention the coupon they have on their website and see if your car is eligible. My Smog test only cost $39.95 plus $8.25 for the certificate. Also, the time on Yelp says they close at 5:30 PM but they actually close at 6:00 PM on the weekdays. My car was ready in less than a half hour. Highly recommend this place. read more

Most smog places won't touch any of the rear engine or mid engine cars but Nick told me if I could get the cover off the back, he could smog it. It cost about $50, which is like $10 cheaper than Smog n Go down the street (and that's with a coupon, their reg price is almost $70). Location is kind of hidden, but wasn't difficult to find. Waiting room is large - 8 chairs and a long bench. There was a tv on the wall, but it wasn't on. A unisex bathroom. Very basic, but clean. There was one person ahead of me.
