Usually the wife sends me with a coupon she finds online and I just bring the car in and it's been affordable and acceptably quick service as long as we come earlier in the day, and weekends seem to be busier so weekdays would be less busy. There's a relatively clean and comfortable waiting room and it's air conditioned, and there's a TV for passing the time. 0 stars if I could, so I brought my civic in for a smog, my 2nd time here with the same car, same technician, only this time he spotted an issue, he tells me he can't smog it because I had an extra catalytic converter (CAT). I was shocked and confused. As Im aware of only 1 for my car. My 96 SC400 has 4 from factory. So I asked him to show me. And he points at my resonator under the car. And ask if I even know what a "CAT" is, 1st red flag, i have some basic knowledge of car mechanics and terms so I said "sure I do but thats my resonator". He responded by pointing to my muffler near the bumper saying that's your resonator. 2nd red flag, So I tell him he didn't say anything 2 years ago when I brought it to him. He denied ever smogging it and that no one will ever smog my car like this, 3rd red flag (keep in mind I have the receipt from 2 years ago when he did the smog and passed it) this car just sits and serves as a back up, nothing has been changed between smogs. So I took his bet, went to the "USA Smog" shop next door. I told the tech the story and he checked the exhaust system. Had a laugh and confirmed it's not an extra (CAT), car passed smog, price was cheaper, and more quality service. Thanks to "USA Smog" got my tags same day. read more

Stay away from these terrible people, they will try to rip you off. They are rude and not helpful. I didn't get the name of the owner. I called the Bureau of Automotive Repair 1800-952-5210 because I thought the people at Smog In were trying to rip me off. Turns out my car could pass smog even if one of my smog sensors was still not passing. At Smog In, they said that all the sensors had to pass, liars. Once my car passed, I told the owner off and told him that he should treat his customers better, I hate places like this that will take the money of its customers and treat customers like crap, do not go here to get a smog. read more

Just recently purchased a used car that needed a catalytic converter. So I looked around for a shop that can help me out with that. My car needed a smog check in order to complete my registration and I already planned on going here. What made it better is that this shop also does catalytic converters! Asked for a quote and Tommy responded right away. He was very helpful and set up an appointment to get my catalytic converter installed and smog tested. Kumar did a great job installing the cat. This Included drive time back to my house to swap cars and both smog tests (takes about 15 mins per car). Office and waiting room were super clean. I was referred to this location by a friend. It's located near Happy Garden Restaurant. The office has seats to sit on while you wait for your car to get a smog. And there's a soda machine. Sign the paperwork on the clipboard when you get in and give your keys to the guy behind the counter. He was the only one there so he was taking care of incoming customers and smogging the cars. Arrived in the morning time and there was one customer ahead of me. I gave him my DMV paperwork and my keys. He drives your car into the smog area. That process took no more than 8 minutes probably. He printed out my receipt and gave me my paperwork back letting me know my car passed. He did say give them 24 hours to send the confirmation to DMV electronically. I paid $40 which is quite good compared to the one I had gone to in the past. I will return for my next smog check. Good job! read more

I gave them 5 stars then and I've sent my husband and my son there since and the service is nothing like it was... had to go back several times for my sons car, they were rude, wouldn't answer direct questions, and wouldn't honor the re-smog fee - of all things! I've been in here once or twice before and I've always liked the service. I recently came in for a smog test on a Saturday morning, waited in line patiently because no one was in the counter to assist, until Kumar came in and helped a customer that was already there waiting. Then out of nowhere, came this man and cut me off in line. I think Kumar didn't notice that I was waiting, but Kumar ended up helping him first. When it was my time to talk, I told Kumar that I was there prior to the man he helped out first. He repeated my question and I told him that I've been waiting for about 10 minutes and that the man cut me off. He gave me justice and made sure my car received the service first. I'm glad I spoke up. I probably wouldn't have cared that much, but I had a plan with my girlfriend for the whole day.
