Want to update 5 star review. Learned they can do pretty much anything DMV rep can do. For a small fee they can give you registration sticker on the spot; also, change address if you've moved. Doing this at DMV will take hours and even taking day off. Or, worse, after waiting whole day at DMV they can't do it because you forgot a document. This is the best smog shop in the state of California. I've lived in California for 25 years. For the last 5 years I've lived in Sacramento and I would drive to this place even if I lived in San Francisco or Roseville or anywhere. His service is fantastic. Extremely easy and fast. Never wait long at all and there are some good eats with 1 or 2 blocks if you want to have lunch. 6 stars because he is the best in the state of California, let alone Land Park or Sacramento. Every once in a while, we all strike gold! It was time to get one of the vroom vrooms smogged, and I was planning on going to a place that I've done business with for years, until the following happened... I called the place to see how busy they were, and I asked for the price to smog, and was quoted a price higher than I recall, paying for one of our other vehicles a year ago. When I shared this information, the man called, asked for a quote and he was quoted $10 less than what I was. No rhyme. No reason. Also, no business for me. Onto the good stuff... I did a quick yelp search, and found a couple places that were also outrageously priced, and then happened upon smog express! The woman that answered the phone was super sweet and friendly, and the biggest bonus is that while most smog places will tell you that they're walking only, smog express does take reservations. Sure, you can walk in, and they will absolutely help you out, but a reservation gives you a guaranteed time slot. What was really cool was I showed up early for my appointment, and rather than making me wait, they took me right away. It was really seamless. I did ask when I made an appointment if they offered any kind of discounts. As it turns out, if you mention that you are a yelper, they offered a five dollar discount. Hey, it may not be a big deal to everyone, but I thought that was really cool of them to do that! I was told when I made the appointment that from start to finish it probably would take about 15 minutes. This is literally a quarter of the time that I'm used to spending at the former place that I did business with. 15 minutes?! I'm there! Located on the edge of downtown/midtown as part of a gas station that if you've ever been in the area, you absolutely have driven past, and probably didn't even notice them. It's a shame. Don't pass this place up. The customer service is excellent. Everyone that works there super nice. The guy that did my smog check came in and chatted with me when he was done. Super professional. Super friendly. And super trustworthy. My appointment literally took 15 minutes. They know what they're talking about. They offer some cool additional services if you're in a hurry, such as being able to provide you with DMV tags and an additional fee. Plus, bonus points they are star certified! They are only open Monday through Friday, and they also gladly take credit cards. My neighbor recommended me to this place and I can see why he likes it so much. The two workers don't mess around and get the job done. Their customer service is excellent. What exceptional service! Brought my car to be smogged and the job was done in 20 mins for $58. Very knowledgeable staff! Located on busy Folsom blvd with good sized parking lot. There was no wait. The owner had an attitude and was confrontational with me, which is why I'll never go back. There was some confusion over the price so they didn't charge me at all, although I offered to pay. I came here this past Saturday based on the reviews from Yelp. They are nice and helpful. At this time you have to pay a $30 fee if you want to get your tag right then and there (they have no control over that fee). WORTH IT! They even pull the old tags off your car and put your new one on for you. Go here if you need to get your car smogged. Also, the gas prices that were a part of the property were so much cheaper than I paid. I may come back to this place because of the prices for gas! read more
