It is located in the southern Midtown/Downtown border area of Sacramento. I stopped here with a coupon $31.75÷$8.25 certificate on a day I was downtown for a doctor's appt for my daughter. Might as well as I needed it done as I paid before the due date to DMV ahead of getting my Lexy smogged. I have been here a few times in the past. I remember years back when the coupon was $19.75+$8.25. Those were the days! Hehe. I was parked near Streets of London trying to stop there and use a gift card but they don't open until 5pm! Seriously!? So I called the smog to see if they can still take me as it was closing in 15 minutes. A lady on the phone said no problem after asking where I was at the time. Both near 16th St so very nearby. I ripped over there in less than 5 minutes. He had no cars in front of me. The owner wrote me up, got it done in 45 minutes though he told me 30 minutes. He was cool and told me to check out an auto shop he owned if I need any work done on the car. I paid and he got me out the door. Then I noticed he forgot to give me my key. I walked right back as I couldn't even get it unlocked without the key. He realized and handed me my key. The owner is chill and got me taken care of. I recommend this shop. Employees here work hard and efficiently and prices are very fair here! Appointments are required and if you come on either a weekday or weekend, they will complete your smog check in a reasonable time! This is THE place to get your smog check! Incredibly quick, affordable, and the workers are sweet and knowledgeable. I arrived around noon on a Wednesday, and there were about 2 people in front of me. No problem, I brought a book, and didn't even finish 1 chapter before they were done and I was all set! I was there for about 15 minutes. The employee also took the time to explain what I needed to do next, and said that if I needed my stickers quick, I could go to this Safeway (1814 19th St, Sacramento, CA 95811) the next day, as they have a DMV machine. I don't recommend this place. They don't know what they're doing. Don't wast your time and money. First time I came in, I passed the functional inspection but they failed me on the visual inspection because of two hoses. They were just plain hoses that are colored red. They told me to fix it either by getting an OEM from the dealer or reinstalling the OEM that came with the car. I found the factory OEM hoses so I just re-installed them. One is colored black and the other is red. I came back to get it retested and they still failed me. They said and I quote, "this red hose looks modded, I can't pass you. If we think it's modded, we can't pass you." I told them the hoses are OEM but they still failed me. The stock hoses that come straight from the factory are RED and BLACK. They failed me even when I installed the factory hoses simply because the hoses didn't match in color and one is red. What kind of idiot does that? Someone who shouldn't be working in smog. The first time I came here, they even questioned me about the intercooler that says "STi". That comes stock with the car from the factory you idiots. By their logic, all Subaru WRX STi which comes with these Red and Black hoses, can't pass smog straight out of the factory which is complete wrong and absurd. Don't waste your time and give them your money. On a positive note, the lady at the counter was nice but the two technicians are complete idiots! read more

Found A D Smog on google maps. I called and the lady said I could just come in without an appointment. This was a Saturday. You can park in the lot north of the shop or directly in the bay. I dropped the car off and was told around 30 minutes. I walked over the Harry's for some food and there was also a small market event around the flower shop. I brought my 1998 Ford Ranger for a smog check. This truck passed smog 2 months ago but needed to resmog for a sale. In between last smog the plug wires were changed out and during that change the computer detected a misfire. It has only been driven once or twice since that event. This company hooked up my truck, saw the computer code for misfire had been reset to clear the check engine light (which will make it an automatic fail for smog) but did test anyway. Evidently you have to start the vehicle something like 20 times or drive it 50 miles before computer will allow that code to pass. All they had to do was tell me to bring it back in 50 miles but instead they ran the test, failed it and charged me $50. Customer service. Take care of the customer and I will bring my other 3 vehicles to you. It was a simple gesture that would have saved me $50 and brought them more business. Instead they focus on getting a dollar now. They also offer 1 free retest so you know that there is no fishy business. Charged me $50 which is a fair price for my 2006 sedan which included certificate. I passed on 1st test by the way. Place is garbage. First test they told me I need to drive the car more and that my FACTORY car needs to have an EO sticker. Car has been as-is and getting smogged since 2006, somehow now it's a problem. Guy at the shop told me to come back after I drove the car around to see the morning smog guy and he can help me get it tested. Morning smog guy says the same thing about the EO sticker as afternoon smog guy. Total waste of my time and money. Go somewhere else and don't give these people any money. read more

The tech failed me because he couldn't read the serial# on my cat. He said my cat was modified which it wasn't. The car is completely OEM.
