Very poor service. The main person is not there anymore. Will not go there anymore. The previous owner was very good. The guy told me that my car wasn't Reading the OBD reader and when I took it to another smog shop down the street it passed smog and the OBD reader read everything. i've came here for 5+ years with my family to get smogs . but this year i came by and the guy worker was being so rude and stuck up about smogging my car . he was on his phone , smacking , had an attitude , and he looks new . the guy definitely wasn't interested or very welcoming about giving me any service here . especially being a girl it was very skeptical . definitely lost a loyal customer , i wish the owner still worked here but now young kids runs it . read more

I never leave Yelp reviews but I just had to after such a great experience here. I have a shield over my catalytic converter on my Prius and went to another smog place before coming here, but was told they couldn't do it because the shield was blocking their view. Chan was so nice and made it work! He lifted my car up and used a mirror to look through a hole and view what he needed to in order to do the smog check. So grateful that he took the time to help me. I recently found myself in need of a new smog inspection station, after my accustomed smog inspection business closed shop. Since I'm located in the Land Park area of Sacramento, I canvassed the neighborhood and decided upon a business unknown previously to me: Progressive Smog, located on 33rd Avenue. My decision was based largely upon the excellent YELP reviews Progressive had received from its patrons. Arriving without an appointment or prior phone call, my 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe was taken right into the shop and the test was completed within an nearly unbelievable 10 minutes. I was out and back on the road, certificate in hand, in a most expeditious manner and I have nothing but favorable remarks to make about the owner of this shop, his set-up and the efficiency of his test procedures. I definitely shall be returning to this shop to have my other vehicles tested in turn, when their inspection dates are due. Progressive Smog's rates are very good, additionally. These guys are great. it's been the same owner/operator for years. They're honest and charge very reasonable prices for smog. We bring all our cars to Progressive. They offer free re-test if your car fails smog. They've seen almost every type of vehicle out there, no matter the year, make or model they know what they're doing. You can be in and out fast with a smog certificate in hand once your car passes. I'll continue using Progressive Smog for all my cars and any car I purchase in the future. read more

Excellent service, all around! I came for a Star Certified Smog Check and the mechanic pointed out to me a small tear in one of my engine's hoses. He politely suggested to buy a wider hose clamp, which only costs about $10 at the auto parts store, to cover the small tear and lengthen the life of the hose. Simple - and he really didn't have to provide me with that advice. Much appreciated and I highly recommend this place! By the way, the smog check was done within 20 minutes, including having to wait for the customer in front of me. I was very satisfied! read more

Great experience. Walked in on a Saturday and only waited about 5 min. Simple and straight forward process and the owner greeted me kindly and shook my hand immediately. Price was great compared to other shops I checked with, and got a discount for mentioning that I found it on yelp. Location is meh but that feels right to me. No need to pay more to get smog check just because the shop has to cover higher rent in a more visible retail location.
