Bedroom, through living room to kitchen

Have been wanting to stay here for awhile, and finally had the chance, we really enjoyed it. It is laid back, in great location on one of the most beautiful parks, overlooking the ocean. Our studio, Room #237, was very comfortable w/ full kitchen, small living room w/ sofa bed (not separate; no door), and queen bed,, with full ocean-front view. Walked down to the beach; walked into town and back. Enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, Yoo. Would definitely stay again and recommend. First floor rooms w/ patio overlooking the park and ocean would be great!

I had the good fortune of using a friend's unused week in this timeshare unit. The complex is older and the units are small, with Murphy double beds for sleeping, but the location is to die for! We had Unit 227, which is the only one with its own patio that isn't shared with other guests. It had an amazing view of the water, and we even saw dolphins one day. The staff, especially Rachel, was very helpful, even before we arrived. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because they closed the pool area for a sudden repair. Bear in mind that the units that front Cliff Drive have constant daytime traffic and metered parking, so cars come and go all day, but it wasn't intrusive. This place is reasonably priced and is close to everything, but it is not fancy by any means. There is a free trolley right across Cliff Drive, so you don't need to drive most places. FYI these units are so coveted that we met people who stay there every year, some coming back for over 30 years. That speaks volumes!

Great spot to retire. A real throwback to a bygone era. Everything you need and then some is encapsulated.

From the moment we entered the resort until we checked out, our experience was nothing short of perfect to be totally honest. I had high expectations when we arrived, and they actually surpassed that. Where do I even begin, first of all the entire place is beautiful. If clean, light, beachy/chic is your aesthetic, this place does not disappoint. The customer service was exceptional. EXCEPTIONAL. Cole initially helped us check in and even upgraded our stay to a presidential suite available! Honestly the most epic view and suite we could have ever booked! Thank you so much Cole! If the property was any closer to the water we would be in the water lol. So beautiful. I think this is going to end up being a staple getaway spot for us. If you are still deciding, I highly encourage you to book a stay here. We went to their restaurant for drinks and brunch the next day (cocktails, service, and food was amazing) , we booked a couples massage which was such a relaxing experience (both massage therapists were so kind and skilled), and we even laid by the pool which was also nice and relaxing. 5 stars in every category. If I could rate higher I would. Customer service from every staff member we spoke to was above and beyond. If you want to have a coastal luxury experience that actually exceeds your expectations this is it.

Taking off one star since I later learned that it is quite hard to get a hold of you guys via phone. My husband was trying to surprise me with champagne and flowers and said nobody returned his voicemail and he tried calling back several times after :( Our travel agent also said that it was hard getting a hold of you guys for booking as well but it eventually got solved. However, on-site staff is very accommodating. I particularly wanted to give Ha a shoutout for a complex booking situation that she handled with great ease and superb customer service. When I learned that she was still in training, I was so surprised since she handled it like a pro with her conflict resolution skills. She was so warm and friendly -- I felt like I was talking to a long-time friend. Management, please give Ha a raise if you are reading this. We were initially going to write this place off since both my husband and agent were having a hard time getting in touch with the front desk but our experience with Ha really changed my perception afterwards. Ha is truly a gem!

Every staff member was incredibly nice, welcoming, and invested in making sure my wife felt celebrated. A massive shoutout to the manager, Max. He recognized our situation and handled everything with absolute empathy and class. He elevated the entire experience. If you are planning a special occasion and want a team that actually cares, look no further. My personal liability insurance covers me for exactly what I do: walk around, kibbitz with the guests, and pose for photos. That's all. Usually when venues/entertainment companies ask me if I carry personal liability insurance, I let them know that I do. Sometime proof of liability insurance is requested, and I provide that. Only ONCE before in my 40-year career have I EVER been asked to have the venue named on my policy for the event. That event was being held in a very high-security utilities building in downtown Los Angeles, where the rooftop area when I was asked to perform was rather dangerous in places. That was a major inconvenience but at least I understood fully as to why this particular group would request this. So, enter the Ranch at Laguna, lol: A dumpy-looking property that looks like it's in the middle of a construction site as you drive up, and has a ton of very dangerous-looking outdoor stairs in the "gardens"(?), not very well-lit, and leading to gosh-knows-what, hidden beyond the darkness below. The "ballroom" I was appearing in was rather small, and looked like a very common and average meeting room one might find at a Sonesta or other properties of that ilk. This is certainly not a property with any bragging rights at all, and they had the audacity to inconvenience me into not only providing proof of liability insurance, but spelling out very specially the separate amounts of coverage they require, and then asked to be added to the policy for the event, and even provided a very specific template to follow, and yadda, yadda, yadda. ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS and completely unnecessary for me and for what my "act" is. I do not use anything dangerous in my presentation. No fire, pyrotechnics, any sort of musical equipment, musical instruments, etc., which WOULD warrant such a request, as any of those things might possibly harm someone in attendance or any of the staff. I'm just a comedian who strolls around, and that's all. I had to jump through hoops to try and make this all happen, and was only made aware of that nonsense ten days before the event, while I was out of town on another event and wouldn't even be able to get to my office until five days before the party. I tried, and the proof did not arrive in time, but the events person made an exception to the person putting on the party, and while that might have been some kind of a nice gesture, she had to add: "...but we don't usually do that." Sit down and shut up, lady. Luckily, I did appear with no other hitches and my client and all the guests were wowed by me, and that is ALL I care about. I will NEVER accept an engagement at this property again, and will happily never have to face the absolutely anal-retentive requirements for outside vendors. I will also warn other entertainers to beware of the situation before accepting jobs there as well, and to make those potential clients aware too, so they can perhaps choose another venue to spend money on for their event, a suitable venue. This place ain't it. Buh Bye.

I thought we…read morewould have to wait a long while, but the receptionist (Holly) checked us in immediately, and upgraded our room. She was friendly, professional, helpful, and accommodating. She explained all the hotel's amenities. In addition to the room charge, a $40 resort fee got us: 1. On-site parking; 2. Welcome sangrias; 3. Chocolate chip cookies each night; 4. A European styled breakfast each morning from 7am to 10am; 5. Wi-fi; 6. Beach chairs and umbrellas. Parking in Laguna Beach is a premium, so parking at the resort was great. The city of Laguna offers a free shuttle with a bus stop almost in front of the hotel. So we parked our car and took the shuttle all over town. The property is a well maintained, quant renovated 26 room Italian style resort. It's clean, charming, and has lots of character. It felt nice being at a small property and not at a large commercial hotel. We felt like we were back in Italy on vacation again! Just walking past the front of the hotel, you would not know that there is a luxury resort inside. They have a heated swimming pool (83 degrees), a sauna, and a secluded sun bathing lounge area and several other amenities. We opted for the heated wellness treatment which is a jacuzzi hot tub for two with mineral water. But they also offer single and couples messages and other message therapies. They have a quant internal courtyard for dining as well. We enjoyed a great European breakfast each day which was well prepared, fresh, healthy, and served by great hostesses. We especially liked the frittatas, fresh squeezed orange juice, hot coffee, and iced cold lemon water. The property is a historic landmark, so it doesn't offer handicap accessibility. So if you or someone in your group is in a wheel chair or uses a walker then this property won't work for you. Overall we really enjoyed staying here and would definitely go back again.

The service was excellent and can see that staff takes great care and attention to making sure everything is taken care of. We very much appreciated all the amenities this inn had to offer such as the welcome drink, evening cookies (delicious!), sauna, sunblock at the pool, towels, lovely breakfast.. all complimentary (breakfast with resort fee). We also appreciated the 10% military discount. We stayed in room 23 which was a standard queen bed with garden view and liked that spot because it felt central, private, and quiet. The room is on the smaller side but it was fine. It does not have a fridge but they provide an ice bucket. We ended up putting our bottled waters on top of the AC box and that kept it cool. Being that the inn is beautifully historic, there weren't many outlets inside the room. The bath robes were very plush. Both lamp shade knobs didn't seem to turn properly but we made it work somehow. Otherwise, we felt well taken care of throughout our stay and so glad we came. Aside from the inn, there is a walk to get to Victoria Beach. We walked south along Coast Highway to Victoria Place and found the underpass from there. We also took the free trolley outside of the hotel to get around town. It could be quite a wait for the trolley as we waited 30 mins. There is a QR code on the sign to track the trolley locations.
