More of a time share/apartment Place but anyone can get a room here. I stayed here while working to wasn't able to take full advantage of all of their amenities but they have them. The rooms are nice and apartment style. Full kitchen, living room, master bedroom, dining table, patio with grill, etc. The couch in the living room also opened up to a bed. Dishes, utensils, coffee maker, dishwasher were all in the room as well. Full size fridge, stove, microwave, etc The bathroom was huge with a hot tub as well. The toilet was in the same room but has its own door. Two sinks, one in the bathroom and one in the master bedroom. Laundry was also available on site, coin operated and they had a pool and hot tub as well. The beach though was right across the street. Great place to bring the family for a beach getaway.

More of an air b&b than an actual hotel. The owner of the condo we stayed at showed up twice- once to check us in and the other to check up on us. Thought the kitchen was kind of small, but we're told that we had full range of any of the cereals or anything in the fridge. Upstairs was probably the nicest part. Spacious two bedrooms and a small bath. Location-wise, it wasn't bad. We went through VRBO

Do you want to lay in bed with all the windows open and let the cool ocean breeze lull you to sleep? Do you want to sit on your balcony and watch the sunset paint the sky over the ocean beyond Dana Point? Do you want to wake up to the sound of the waves lapping against the shore? Do you want to sound like a bad advertisement for a very good hotel? Clearly I do, because I am a huge cheerleader for Capistrano Surfside Inn after staying there. This is a timeshare that is part of the RCI network of hotels, but they also book their rooms online outside of the timeshare world. They offer three room sizes: One bedroom units, two bedroom one bath units. and 2 bedroom 2 bathroom units. All units have full kitchens. I stayed in three different rooms for a long business trip recently. The most updated units were the two bedroom two bathroom units. The smaller two bedroom units are a little dated, but they were perfectly clean and had everything I needed to be comfortable. They also have a better view of the ocean. All of the units I stayed in had jetted tubs and all of them had a BBQ on the deck. None of this really mattered to me because I just wanted to sit out on the balcony and stare at the Pacific. The best part of this place is definitely the location. It's within very easy walking distance of Dana Point Marina and Capistrano Beach. It's a very short drive, or bike ride (or a longer walk) to San Clemente. The pedestrian bridge was open and made it so easy to get to the beach. It's also close to all the shops and restaurants in Dana Point itself. The second best part of the hotel for me was Cynthia. The service she provided while we stayed there was some of the best we've ever had. The rest of the staff was great too, but she bent over backwards to make our stay fantastic!!!! They have a very well kept pool and hot tub and provide pool toys, toys for the beach, and bikes as well. The only complaint I have is that I had to leave. I guess I'll have to go back.

My girlfriend and I came down from the 24th to the 27th for a little holiday getaway and the vibe was exactly what we were looking for. Peaceful, polished, and very "treat yourself." First off the staff here deserves real credit. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely warm and friendly, not just going through the motions. Special shoutout to Lori at check in, she was amazing, super welcoming, and surprised us with a suite upgrade that instantly set the tone for the whole trip. Little touches like that go a long way and made it feel like an actual special occasion. The property itself is beautiful. The grounds are immaculate, the ocean views are a vibe, and everything feels upscale without being stiff or pretentious. It's the kind of place where you can slow down, take your time, and actually enjoy being there instead of constantly rushing around. A couple things kept it from being 5 stars though. The hot water in our room took forever to heat up. Not the end of the world, but when you're paying Waldorf prices you expect the shower to be easy and instant. Also room service took a really long time. I'm not sure if it was just the holiday rush or if that's normal, but it was noticeable enough to mention. Overall we still had a great stay and I'd come back. Just go in knowing this is a true luxury pricing situation. The experience is top tier and so are the costs. Your wallet is definitely gonna feel it but if you want a special getaway with an incredible setting and standout service, this place delivers.

I was genuinely looking forward to treating my wife to a relaxing weekend at the Waldorf. For a…read moreproperty that regularly charges $1,000+ per night, we expected a level of peace, consistency, and attention to detail that matches the price point. To be fair, many parts of the stay were great, bellhop, check-in, and valet were all excellent. Unfortunately, everything else was overshadowed by issues that made the stay feel far from "luxury." First, there was a wedding and reception taking place during our stay, which would normally be fine. But the noise level was completely out of control. A man was singing off-key for hours, and the music was so loud that it drowned out the sunset on our final night... something we were specifically excited for. Instead of tranquility, we were met with a full-blown concert we never signed up for. When I reached out to the front desk on 11/23 to address the noise, I was made to feel like I was the only guest with concerns. That wasn't true at all; a quick look at Yelp shows multiple guests complaining about the exact same issue that weekend. There were other guests we tried to enjoy the sunset with and they were appalled as well. It's disappointing to feel dismissed rather than acknowledged. To make matters worse, we were charged pet cleaning and hospitality fees despite traveling with a service animal. We cleaned up after ourselves and our animal, and the charge felt careless and inappropriate. For a hotel that prides itself on five-star hospitality, this was a surprising and unnecessary frustration. We were also charged for a refrigerator which by the way, we sent back because we actually requested for a microwave. Lastly, even the jacuzzi... which should be a quiet, relaxing space, was anything but. Kids were splashing and throwing cups of water around while we tried to unwind. I understand family-friendly spaces, but at a resort of this caliber, there should be better supervision or clearer separation between relaxation areas and play areas. Overall, I expected a calm, restorative experience, and instead found myself dealing with noise, incorrect charges, and a lack of acknowledgment when raising concerns. For the price and reputation, the Waldorf missed the mark in ways I didn't anticipate.

I was in a suite. -the toilet in the bathroom was running, so I had to call maintenance. -the bedroom door does not shut! (In a suite!) It didn't even fit properly in the door frame. (See video) . AMENITIES- -after sunset in winter, at about 6 PM, there was no one working at the pool, and the station for the towels was unmanned and covered, as though it were off-limits, even though the pool is open until 10 PM. . SPA- -using the spa amenities is not included in the resort fee as a guest and costs extra. -had to ask for cream and sugar for the black tea they had in the spa (The only thing they had for tea were cups) . SERVICE- (yikes) Service has really gone downhill. That's the main reason I won't be recommending this place. -they had an activity on the daily schedule called 'Defining Moments' at 4:30 PM. (See photo). I waited 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, then called the front desk to inquire. She said it got canceled. Normally, they would do something to try to make it up to the guest, but she did not. So to me, the guest, this was not resolved properly. -very few employees do the "10 and 5 rule" anymore. Out of the over a dozen employees I encountered during my stay, only two of them actually did it. -A photo session is supposed to be included with the resort fee. I asked about booking one for the following day and they said they needed a minimum of 24 hours notice. Also, they had me, the guest, reach out to the on-site photographers. For a hotel of this caliber, they should be doing that for the guest. Furthermore, they should be scheduling it for you before you even get to the property to make things easier for the guest. Especially a platinum member. . TLDR: Nice rooms and location, but not up to luxury standards for the price, and the service has really gone downhill and honestly is not even considered to be up to par for luxury hospitality.

Family Logistics: My wife headed to the spa for some downtime while I took the kids to the pool, which worked out perfectly for everyone. Dining: We had dinner at catalina kitchen where I had a really good steak. Service: The staff was very pleasant, and everyone we encountered was nice. Room Accommodations: I'm rating this 4 stars instead of 5 due to the room layout. We booked for four people, but the initial room was so tiny that it couldn't comfortably fit all of us without one child sharing our bed. I ended up spending more money and upgrading to a suite to ensure we all had enough space and comfort. Everything was set up around the pool with a beautiful ocean view, which already made it feel a little more elevated than your typical game day spot. They had a huge screen so you could enjoy the game from pretty much anywhere, and the overall vibe was just really chill and well put together. The food was buffet style with all the classic Super Bowl favorites, plus some really cute themed desserts. They even made desserts inspired by the teams playing, which was such a fun touch. I also loved how they set up the buffet stations; there were options in both the front and the back, so no matter where your table was, it was easy to grab food without walking all over the place. They also had a raffle going during commercial breaks, which was actually really fun and kept the energy up throughout the game. It made the whole experience feel more interactive instead of just sitting and watching. Your ticket covers unlimited food, which makes it easy to just relax and enjoy everything. Drinks were separate (they had an open bar option for an additional cost), but overall it felt worth it for the experience. It's a great option if you don't want to watch the Super Bowl at home but also don't want the chaos of a crowded bar. Perfect for going with friends or family; good food, great setup, and just an easy, fun time. I'd definitely go again if they host it next year
