I had a wonderful experience at LaFoot Plus! I am an avid urban walker and nature hiker. However I have been hampered by some nagging pain on the side of my knee. The two women who helped me (one was shadowing today) had a background in kinesiology. After observing me walk barefoot they noticed I had some tibial rotation and suggested shoes that would help. They also noticed my wide "toe box" and narrow heel. I spent almost an hour testing various pairs of shoes until I found the perfect pair to suit my needs, but neither woman seemed impatient. I learned more here than I had from my doctor, physical therapist and podiatrist combined. They explained stretching exercises to help my knee and gave me a print-out to take home. The staff at LaFoot seemed more intent on educating rather than selling. Incidentally, the pair of shoes I finally chose were not particularly expensive. I highly recommend LaFoot Plus! read more

Great customer service! I never got such a personal attention in a shoe store before in my life. My feet always hurt after walking a few miles and no insoles could help. I thought I have flat feet so I have bought insoles in all the places I have travelled to, including Paris, Tokyo, Taipei. At Lafoot, the salewoman asked me to walk barefoot and told me that my feet most likely pronate ( and not flat feet). They recommended a pair of Brooks Addiction 12. Amazingly, my feet stop hurting. It was so great that I came back several months later to buy another pair of Brooks Addiction. read more

Customer Service is a lost art. It seems that helpful and attentive service is the exception to the rule these days. I cannot sing enough praises for the Physical Therapist Craig who fitted me for custom orthotics. He was truly kind, thoughtful in his approach, and pleasantly inquisitive without being too intrusive. He made me feel completely at ease. I felt he treated me the same as he would have treated an Iron Woman triathlete even though I'm an out of shape health care worker with feet that kill me on my long shifts. I left in a better mood than when I arrived. I'll recommend this place to all of my colleagues and plan to be a permanent customer. Thanks so much Craig! You made my day :) Also, this place is less than HALF the price that For Feet's Sake charges. I cannot believe they charge $600 for custom orthotics. Also, LaFoot was ready to bring me in the same day that I called for an appointment, and the Orthotics are ready in a week. For Feet's Sake takes two weeks. Don't go there. Go to LaFoot! read more

This place is an outstanding example of a local business that trumps any large chain store. Yes, this place is probably more expensive than if you were to shop at a giant Sports Authority or on Amazon, but they really deserve the extra money. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type that usually passes up the opportunity to buy something somewhere else if that means I save a few dollars, but I will say it again - this place really DESERVES the extra that they're charging. To explain: It's not like they're charging more simply because they're a small business and the real estate on College Ave. is higher; they actually put a lot of research into their inventory - I asked! Apparently there's some lab somewhere where they buy hundreds of pairs of shoes to test for stability and such to decide which are the best of the best to put on their shelves. Simply put, just by walking into the store you're probably five times more likely to get a shoe that's actually good for your feet - so much of the guess work is removed from the equation. Not only that, you will get some of the best customer service/expertise out there! This is my second time buying a shoe here and both times I've had someone personally help me: the asked me about my needs, watched me walk, measured my feet, and picked out four or five different pairs of shoes for me to try on. As if that wasn't enough, the poor guy today even sat down with me and helped me get the five pairs of shoes on and off (and tied them for me!) to make sure that the size/fit is appropriate before I was asked take my pick. I hope that my review isn't overly enthusiastic that you disregard it. Please support this store. It's so worth the extra $5 or $10 per pair to keep such an exemplary business like this going. read more

I had a difficult time finding a shoe that fit my needs. I came in with a list from my podiatrist. I purchased a pair that ended up being too small. Although I had worn them for a week, LaFoot took them back and exchanged them for the correct size. Since I had worn them on the street, they didn't have to accept them. Thank you LaFoot. read more

The Yelp info on this business states you don't need an appointment. Yet if you are coming here for orthotics, you absolutely do, as only one employee works with them. Also, the info says their business hours are Mon - Sat, which is technically true, but you can't get orthotics on Saturday... So it might be ok if you come in on the right day with an appt read more

No one bothered to greet me as I came in the door. I stood around and looked at shoe models for about 10 min., still no one said hello or offered to help me. I sat down in one of the chairs holding a shoe that I had tried before and knew that I wanted to purchase. I had to approach one of the sales people and ask if I could try the shoe on. He seemed noticeably annoyed. I asked for it in size 9. He went back for half a minute and returned to say they didn't have it in my size. he didn't bring back an alternate shoe or make any suggestions or anything, and went right back to helping someone else. I put my shoes on and left. LaFoot has a nice selection of shoes (if they had anything in size 9, a very common size), but the staff desperately needs a brush-up in customer service. read more

My boyfriend and I recently started running and our lack of good footwear became obvious after the first couple weeks. I also fractured my foot a long time ago and found that my cheap shoes ($40 bucks on sale from Big 5) stressed the same area of my foot. The staff at LaFoot analyzed my walk and suggested about four pairs based on my stride, past injury, and complaints about my old shoes. I really like that even though the store was very busy, the staff really focused on us and didn't rush us into a decision. It's also great knowing that they test the shoes and are obviously very knowledgeable about them. I ended up spending less money than I expected on a great pair of Brooks shoes. My experience at LaFoot was great, and I'll definitely be back when I need a new pair! read more

My only problem with this store is that they do not have an LA location !I worked with an extremely knowlegable and generous person named Haddie who hooked me up with some inserts to correct plantar facilits. My podiatrist looked at them today and gave her ideas a thumbs up. What impressed me was not only was she able to figure out things quickly , but she was not on a mission to replace my perfectly good shoes. I think I spent a total of $20, and her advice has made a world of difference. I saw a post that they "over corrected" someone regarding shoe selection, however since they seem to deal with long time runners who have been hurt and want to keep running this may not be the first place to shop if you are going mimimalist. Correcting problems is what they are most brilliant at, and have done their homework in terms of which shoes are best for specific syndromes. If you are younger and lucky enough to be free of any stress from long distance training you many not need this kind of expertise right now. I didn't either back in the day, but now that I am a masters runner I am so glad I found LaFoot. read more

Great service! The staff are very knowledgable on foot conditions and do an indiviudalized assessment of your needs. I came in for plantar faciitis and I have a very high arch. Generally, I am very hard to fit shoes for. The staff assisted me for over thirty minutes to help me find the right insole. And, what I really liked, is that they will alter the insole to fit your shoe in case a larger size fits best. I ended up getting fit with medium size Green Superfeet insole and they measured my shoe and trimmed the top right there so I could try them on--no pressure to even buy! And they boast a 30 day full refund on insoles. read more

A younger gentleman with the patience of saints helped me go through every single pair of shoe inserts they have until I found the right combo. He was thorough and patient, we tried multiple things. I have really sensitive feet and the left and right are naturally not symmetrical. I'm really grateful for his help. I have really flat feet and need support. I walked out with 2 pairs of inserts that I had to pair up for it to work. That's fine now I can finally walk long distances. read more

Awful. I just went in today to get fitted for a shoe. The sales person seemed like she didn't want to help. Didn't want to check my gate, only wanted a quick sale. My orthotics needed new metatarsal pads on them. The sales person ripped the orthotic and tried to hide it, telling me that if she goes further, it will rip. I looked down and saw a significant tear. I pointed out that she already did rip it. The sales person seemed apathetic when I told her that she should own up to her mistakes. Will never set foot into la foot plus again. read more

I could pretty much say "ditto" to what everyone else has said. This place deserves 10 stars. I'll never go anywhere else. My story doesn't matter so much as the result. A nagging knee problem had me on the track to seeking physical therapy. After half an hour (what store gives you all the time you need and more??), knee problem diagnosed, new shoes and voila, back on the track. Knee pain gone in an hour. Incredible! I came here with Morton's neuroma in one foot. I'd been to a podiatrist who saw me with his students, and he had one of them cut a piece of foam adhesive for me to put in my shoe. Not a whole lot of guidance with that, and my foot didn't change for 3 weeks. Finally I was referred to La Foot after calling the store next door (they heard my story and quickly recommended the La Foot staff). Osita helped me and was quite knowledgeable, patient, and very clear in how he talked about what was happening in my foot. He took time to fit me with the right orthotics and a metatarsal insert, and tested my trailrunners for their performance. I never felt rushed or like he was trying to sell me anything, and he was much more helpful than the podiatrist. All in all, great customer service and I'm really looking forward to having less pain in my foot! I recommend La Foot to anybody, especially if your feet need extra care. read more

I bought new running sneakers from LaFoot because I was in need of new ones. I was training up for a half marathon and was looking forward to visiting this store. When I arrived the person there really helped me select the best running sneaker for me. I highly recommend this store because of the customer service and although the prices are a bit higher than other stores they have a quality selection. read more

I definitely recommend shopping here if you have any problems with your feet. I have flat feet and a bad case of Achilles tendinitis. The folks at LaFoot were extremely helpful and very patient as I tried on several types of shoes. They carry various widths; which is a huge plus for my wide feet. Trying to buy local, really, really.......but.....I had to walk out. Store smelled horribly of fungusy feet. Not sure which of the several customers had the problem. I needed a simple pair of walking shoes that would be comfortable for 30-60 minute walks. When the employee helping me asked me to take off my shoes so he could observe my gait I was wary. Then he told me that I needed to remove my socks, and walk back and forth on the filthy (probably fungus laden) floor in front of the entrance. I asked him to observe me in socks. He told me that I would have to remove my socks, and not to worry, that he was not at all squeamish. I told him I was not comfortable with the process, and again asked that he observe me in socks. He unapologetically said we could not proceed until I removed my socks, and he could properly analyze my gait. Really........this isn't foot surgery. I just wanted to try a few pairs of shoes on that were recommended for pronation. I was very clear that I am no kind of athlete. I just needed some shoes for my little strolls .I think I can tell what feels comfortable and supportive. Guess it's time to click shop. I'm off to Zappo's. read more
