Called to ask for a quote on a repair for my son's necklace and they gave me a price range over the phone but told us that coming in with the necklace would provide a better idea of the price. We stopped in about 15 min later and in 10 min our son's necklace was replaced! The jeweler (who my husband thinks is the owner) provided some insight on what jewelry is best for a child my son's age in terms of durability etc and showed him some affordable and beautiful examples. This jewelry shop might be cheaper then gemelis about two blocks away but the difference in service with the owners is completely different when you walk into gemelis you feel a good friendly comfortable atmosphere at Lafyes the owner can be very harsh and rude with different things he has an attitude and tries to rush you with your choice of things and when you can't decide he seems more annoyed for you to either hurry up or leave I do not recommend this at all read more

BEWARE! I took a watch in for a new battery. When I went to pick it up, the seconds hand was gone and the minutes and hours hands had been replaced with some ugly oversized hands that did not in any way resemble the originals. The owner claims that he needed to change them to "fix" the watch. He never called me to discuss; he just took it upon himself and never said anything to me. Makes me wonder how often he makes decisions without reviewing with customers. read more
