Try the house margaritas with a splash of sangria! Delicious! The fajitas were so-so - they don't come out sizzling, just steak and rice, nothing special. Fish tacos were pretty good. Chips and salsa were good. Service was terrific, ask for Matthew. The restaurant just opened. Atmosphere and decor was amazingly beautiful. read more

Food and service is amazing! Hector is the best waiter for sure. He does the job right.

Love Seagrove Village Market...love George's. Sorry to say La Co is terrible. Had chicken and shrimp fajitas. Shrimp was nicely seasoned. Everything else was blah. Maybe being from Houston makes me biased...but, we know how to do TexMex there. Unfortunately, our beaches suck! read more

Started our meal with queso and it was creamy and very tasty. The steak enchiladas are outstanding (I substituted the sauce for queso) and the street corn was phenomenal. I highly recommend if you're craving some Mexican/Tex-Mex food while on 30A! read more

We have been coming here over the past 6 years.Sometimes we would come for lunch and dinner.Last night was probably the last time we will come to LaCocina.Everything has changed here and we just don't like it anymore.Having to pay for chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant is just unheard of!My son and husband ordered burritos and it just came on the plate with no beans or rice???You have to pay for every little thing (even by itself it's already very expensive)which is ridiculous! You have to order everything a la Cart which also gets pretty expensive.Im sorry it has just lost the good feel ,charm and magic it used to have.It needs to go back to what we all love about Mexican restaurants and what we used to love about LaCocina...especially coming off the beach starving! The atmosphere just seems cold and a little snobby.Goodbye LaCocina! read more

This is our favorite place to come to On our annual vacation to Seagrove. Great atmosphere, friendly service, kid friendly and great food.

Atmosphere is a beach-casual with a mid-scale hispanic overtones. Kudos to the staff and atmosphere. Wait time for food once seated with a party of 8 was about 40 minutes. Only reason for 4 compared to 5 star rating. Lobster quesadillas were fantastic with generous portions of crab, lobster, and shrimp in a classic flour tortilla with exceptional chipotle sauce. Would definitely recommend! read more

This place is awesome. The food could not get any better. It is a bit pricey but well worth it.From their drinks to the wonderful entrees it is worth the drive from Niceville to this place. We try to make it down as much as possible.keep up the good work. read more

The yelp checkin for a free margarita was a nice unexpected touch. The food was pretty good but nothing to rave about, it is hard to go wrong with chicken and rice covered in cheese. I liked the service and the salsa was pretty good as well. Would return if craving something other than seafood while visiting PCB. read more

I love this restaurant! My husband and I had eaten here before so we brought friends this time. La Cocina is more laid back and relaxed than *some* of the places nearby. We had a wonderful server and great food. I love the salsa and the margaritas here! I'll continue to stop in when I'm in town! read more

So I would say this ranks up their in my book of tex mex places, and was very good value. Our waiter, Hector, who everyone seemed to recommend here, did not disappoint. Spot on service, great food and a affordable bill. Chips were great, and then the food was good to. For people thinking their getting high end tapas style Mexican, your in the wrong place. If you are in the mood for Tex Mex, then this is the place for you! read more

Came here during a business trip in Destin about a month ago. The food, margaritas, guacamole all were delicious! Our server, Yelena, was awesome and gave us great recommendations. Thank you, La Cocina, for a wonderful experience! We will definitely come back when we are visiting again. read more

We ended up here by default on our first night in town because the hostess at Acme ice house around the corner was very rude to us and told us we would have to wait outside on a cold night--even though there were dozens of empty tables and we should have been able to be seated immediately. So we kept on walking and ended up at La Cocina which clearly wAs the place to be anyway as it was packed and we had a fifteen minute wait. No matter though, there was plenty of seating while we waited and we chatted happily. We were seated within 10 minutes and were greeted by our "A-MAAA-SING" (clearly pronounced as such) server Hector. Here is a man who clearly loves people and his job. He immediately friended us with good humor, acting as though we'd met before and exclaiming things like "you're looking good" and "look how big you've gotten!" To my 18 year old daughter. He had us in stitches and we played right along. Hector brought us chips and salsa and queso right away and made some recommendations for us when we were clearly having a hard time making choices. The grilled fish tacos were delicious, as he said they would be. I wish I'd taken a picture--but something tells me we will be back this week to see Hector again. Our teenagers and their friends liked everything too. We left happy, full, and ready for fiesta! read more

Hector! Hector! Hector! I feel this is necessary after reading these reviews! Wow! We got lucky with having Hector serve us and everyone is right. He gives incredible service. However, the help from the other staff members truly gives this place GREAT customer service. Chips were replaced before we could even get to the bottom of the basket, and frequent check ups by everyone made for a great experience! The food lives up to the service my friends! Fish tacos, an order of the jalapeño slaw, and corn on the cob! Delicioso! That was enough to split between two of us. Their drinks are all "on point"! You can't go wrong here, unless you expect and want a cheap, indistinguishable Mexican food plate. (The one that all blends together by tomato sauce and cheese. When your looking at your enchilada combo plate and looks exactly like the burrito plate your friend ordered.) Yea, La Cocina is not that place. read more

Bar has good drinks but the food lacks flavor relying on cheese to make up for it. Sauces on the enchiladas were little more than window dressing read more

The complimentary salsa is fresh and has a bit if a kick to it. We shared the three enchiladas (short rib, carnitas and chicken) with rice and beans. Wish the rice and beans portions were a little larger. It was super busy in there the Thursday before Easter, but we managed to get a table near the bar. Great place for some low key Mexican! read more

Very good mexican food at very reasonable prices for the area. Dinner for my wife and I was around $25.

Honestly not authentic Mexican food at all. The veggie enchiladas were covered in a thick tomato paste "sauce". They were filled with barely cooked veggies and no cheese. The black beans were ok. The rice was covered in a strange green sauce. Not worth the money. Worst place ever! Our waitress was very nice and friendly. read more

Some of the best food I've had on vacation!! This place is a must! The service was fantastic as well as the bloody Mary's. I'm not a huge fan of fish tacos but they were so good that I would come back and have them again for dinner. read more

Margarita was great. That's it. Restaurant has an awesome appeal, food was terrible. Guac was rotten, ground beef was comparable to Spam. Fiancé witnessed a cook walk directly from the bathroom stall to the kitchen and begin cooking, WITHOUT washing hands. Yuck! read more

Service was very good, but the food was just so-so and certainly overpriced for the quality. My tortilla shells were dried out and the salsa was warm, lacking also in flavor. My fajitas were good, but my companion was very disappointed with their lobster quesadilla. The queso was unique and had mixed reviews from people in my party. It reminded me of something I would have at a Super Bowl party rather than a fine restaurant. read more

Jacob was amazing! So attentive to our needs! Cheerful. Went out of his way to bring over a patio heater.

Bamba queso and margarita were excellent. Fish tacos and chicken quesadillas were okay but nothing to write home about. Chips were very good - thin and crispy. read more

I had the Cocina salad with sliced zucchini, mushrooms, green & red peppers, topped with shrimp and shredded cheese and it was VERY good. I really enjoyed it. They made a strawberry margarita that was very strong. I coiuldnt' even finish it. read more

In my attempt to introduce a new friend to my favorite local restaurants...we stopped in for Lunch after a recent trip to PCB. So happy we did as it was our lucky day. Not only were the fish tacos as tasty as always. The peach sangria that was recommended is my new fav AND lucky us.... We had Hector for our server!! Hector is one of the best on the coast. Our service was impeccable....he was not only knowledgeable but gracious as always. What an unexpected treat!! Thanks Ann & George for continuing to bring some of the best restaurants to 30A!! read more

Fantastic food and outstanding service. While we typically try to find new places to eat each trip to the area, this is one that is always a repeat. Everything we have tried has been great! read more

The food is good - nice salad with grilled shrimp and a good flat iron steak, good sized portion of guacamole - but the service average at best, the restaurant is HOT (crank up the AC), there are no happy hour drink prices and there are TONS of flies. I even mentioned it to the waiter "wow, there are so many flies!" His response was, "yeah, there have been a lot of them this season". What? Figure out how to get rid of them - It's awful to swat flies when you're trying to eat!!! read more

Terrible service... Before ordering my friend and I asked to spilt our check, as he hands us the check it's both our meals on one and when I asked for him to split it he said "we don't split checks sweetie", talking to me like i'm a little kid being very very rude and on top of that he messed up our order making us wait longer. His attitude was unprofessional and he should not be working there with the little patience he has. Food was good if it wasn't cold though. read more

We stopped here because we couldn't find a place all along 30A that had a public restroom so we decided to have lunch....what a hidden gem!! All I can say is, grilled fish tacos with fruit pico and jalapeños....I actually had cantaloupe, I hate cantaloupe and this was delicious!!! Highly recommend! read more

Went there today. We were really looking forward to it. We waited and waited for a table. Tables were empty but they had not been cleaned. Hostess said we could wait in the bar area. The bartop was full of dirty dishes still sitting there from previous customers and the tables were nasty with food all over them. They are obviously short on help. After waiting 40 minutes we gave up and left and went to another restaurant where we were greeted warmly and seated immediately with excellent service. read more

Ate lunch there today. Kids split the nachos and loved them. I had the lighter side plate. It was delicious. Prices are rather high. But we are at the beach. I would eat there again. read more

Excellent Mexican. Delicious for the money in comparison to another restaurant owned by the same family. (George's). Lulu's favorite and the salad with chilli lime sauce were excellent. Drinks are a bit pricey, but what you would expect on vacation. Decor was fun. Many great paintings. Wait staff is very generous with chips and salsa. read more

I am surprised by the negative reviews. We visited last week during our annual vacation. The food was very good. The restaurant was spotless. The waiter we had was outstanding: entertaining but also very attentive. My dad is very picky and he enjoyed it so much he wanted to go back for breakfast. Unfortunately they only do a Sunday brunch. read more

Fish tacos were great. So was the guacamole. It's a big place so it works well for families. The meal was expensive though. About $70 for a family of 5 before tip, and one was a 2 year old who just ate off our plates. read more

If you're staying at The Village it's super convenient. We ate in the bar area and the entire wait staff was awesome. Food was ok, massive portions. The bartender was mixing some mean drinks too! Nothing stood out as amazing, let's call it pretty good. Definitely a place of convenience, let's taco no more about it! read more

Stopped in on a whim. Courteous staff, seated quickly. Our server was Hector and he rules! He gave us a good outline of the menu and we ended up getting fajitas and fish tacos. The food was above par and the service was way above par. read more

Just had margaritas. 2 strawberry ones with sugar rims. Very good. Very good. Thanks.

Bland, bland, bland. Needs a recipe makeover. Very friendly staff, but the kitchen is not delivering quality taste.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The service was great. We never ran out of drink before getting a refill. The chips and salsa were good. The basket of chips was huge and the salsa was tasty. Our food was good. I had the fish tacos, and they were full of flavor. My husband enjoyed his taco and enchilada plate. The kids both liked their chicken burritos, as well. Is it the best Mexican food I've ever had? No, it isn't. However, it was better than average in my opinion. read more

This is your typical run of the mill Mexican food at double or even triple the price. The chips aren't even good. The decor is cute. The waiter screwed up our separate checks. Save your money and go next door to Acme where the food is actually good. read more
