First visit to La Chance winery, such a nice place, rustic and so pretty…read more We had made reservations for four tables as we had 25 ladies celebrating a bride to be. We got there before opening at 11:00, the staff was still busy setting up but let us stand near the restrooms till they opened. We got settled in the new pavilion, it was a large room with a bar, a stage for the musical guests, and lots of tables of various sizes. There is a room at the entrance for wine tasting but for everything else you can order there or the bar in the pavilion. I waited for a bit to go for the tasting to let the rush die down. There were still a few people waiting for coffee and we were chatting and when I went to place my order for the wine tasting the bartender commented that she had just put everything away. Hmm, if it weren't for that I would have given 5 stars but that made me feel like I was a bother but that was literally her job. I didn't do any more tastings and did the rest of my orders at the outside bar. The rest of the day was wonderful, the sun came out but the day kept cool. We moved inside and outside, Two Pedro's played and we watched couple's dance. Tried the three flavors of Sangria; white peach, strawberry, and autumn. My favorite was the autumn with its cinnamon apple spice. It was a very peaceful place, laid back but efficient

Jamie did a wonderful job of coordinating my daughters rehearsal dinner and wedding this weekend,…read morealong with a full service team for food service, bar service and event set up. Food was fresh, delicious and portions were generous. With plans for an outdoor wedding, this venue is prepared for any weather and can quickly prepare for last minute changes. We opted for the outdoor tent. This area has a beautiful backdrop of the lake and vineyard with great lighting in the tent and nearby walking areas. Food and drink is served indoors with plenty of processional space. There is also a separate terrace below the tent for cocktail hour or special gatherings. I would definitely recommend this venue for your special event.

I've visited many times over the years and have even hosted a few celebrations here. The winery continues to evolve, and it impresses me every time I return. The food alone is worth the drive. I ordered the wood-fired sausage pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. I would put it up against pizza from any restaurant in St. Louis or on The Hill. The cheese blend was perfect, and the thin crust made it satisfying without feeling too heavy on a warm day. I highly recommend it. There was also a great live music duo playing, along with several special events that added to the festive atmosphere. I saw birthday celebrations, including a 70th birthday party at the Lakeside Pavilion, as well as a bridal shower and a wedding reception. Even with so much happening, the staff was friendly and attentive, and I didn't have a long wait for my food. There are plenty of unique spaces within the property. Some are for private events, but there was plenty of room open to the public so you could be right in the middle of the action or you could find a little peaceful corner by the grapevines. Villa Antonio is such a lovely place to spend an afternoon. It is well worth the short 35 minute drive from Webster Groves.

Small town living has both it's advantages and disadvantages, fortunately I'm still waiting for the…read moredisadvantages to make their appearances since I haven't come across any yet. One advantage I've learned is having the Jefferson county fairgrounds about 15 minutes from my house. in the 3 years I have lived here, I have attended several fairs and events at the fairgrounds, and had a most enjoyable time each visit. Located in the Hillsboro Mo, the county seat of Jefferson county, the fairgrounds offer several events throughout the year, ranging from the county fair to tractor and truck competitions. I've attended a few events and each time I have had more than a mere pleasant time. sitting under the stars being entertained by a country music performer is a most delightful way to spend a warm summer night while stretched out on a blanket with a few cold ones by your side. the only downside to the whole experience is with parking issues, the fairgrounds pack them in when the fair is going on, and parking tends to get a little tight and scarce, but as long as you have a single ounce of patience, you should be able to navigate well and overcome your aggravations with the other drivers.. Jefferson county fairgrounds has a website that is very useful when planning on attending an event there, and the ticket sales for the fair are usually discounted for a short time before full price has to be paid. if your looking for a fun way to spend a hot summer evening, then head over to the Jefferson county fairgrounds, walk the midways and get enticed by the smell of fair foods floating in the air, and the sounds of people having a good ole time.. and take a moment out and enjoy things for a while..

The owners were there the entire time and were friendly and accommodating with various requests. Barn venues for weddings are all the rage and this location was very impressive. First impressions when arriving... wow, clean, organized and impressive details everywhere. The wedding service was performed here. Valley Farms had a nice outdoor area set up overlooking pastures. If the weather was bad there was an option to bring it inside. The main barn for the reception looked to have been built for receptions. Big enough to accommodate probably over 200 guests with room for DJ and a large head table. Prior to the reception, there was an outdoor bar with seating everywhere. Here the wedding had appetizers and cash bar. Only ding was the option for liquor, beers and wines. (Barefoot wines...not exactly high quality). They had a few animals out and a tractor hay ride (without hay) to take the wedding party out for pictures. A nice area for a bonfire once the sun went down and temps hit 50's which was a lot of fun. I don't have the cost, but in the wedding reception market, it's competitive but compare apples to apples. In the end, Valley Farms was very impressive in the setting, atmosphere they created for an outdoor, barn feel and everything looked brand new and well taken care of. You can see the pride and attention to detail the owners have.
