I don't shop at H&M often. The last time I bought something was roughly ten years ago. I got a…read moreshimmery green blouse that I have worn a number of times to special evening events. The quality back then was wonderful. I visited the flagship store in Stockholm five years ago. The quality has gone downhill. It's almost like the company likes creating disposable clothes where you are expected to buy article of clothing, wear it a few times, and then donate it. My friend and I were at Heartland Town Centre last weekend. We were at Old Navy and decided to pop into H&M next store. I did like some cute tops while I was there, such as a tank top with cute lemons, a shirt that pointed out that it was Saturday, and a lemon purse accessory. I didn't by anything. If I were dying to get something, it would have been the lemon purse accessory. It was something like $4 and was cute. Luckily, my willpower had kicked in. If you are looking for quality-made clothing, this store isn't for you. However, if you have disposable income and enjoy donating your clothes often, H&M is the place to be. (223)

They started out primarily with monochromatic themes like Club Monaco but created pieces with unbelievably gorgeous pastels. After popularity struck it's been paired with Versace, Madonna & very high paid models for runway shows. Contrary to popular belief , the quality isn't the best but when you have brand power, it really does not matter if the stitching is only going to last you 2 night of sit down dinners. I really prefer this location to the mall H&M stores. 4 reasons 1) you can find 2 seasons worth of stuff here. Excellent for those of you who enjoy dressing themselves to the beat of your drum rather than choosing out of what is 'in'. 2) most of the cute items that are in the current weeks shipment will be on sale here 3) very few sales people and big location = shopping at your own pace 4) loads of size availability Tip: if you make a visit in the afternoon (pick me up at lunch hour?) the line up is non existent, which is never the case for the mall H&M's. Happy shopping :) xoxo M.

Consider me impressed! I'd heard about this more 'upscale' thrift/vintage store opening and finally…read moregot to check it out. It's a loft-like space with lots of natural light and really well decorated. One thing that set it apart immediately, is it doesn't have that thrift store smell. They're true to their word that they're only selecting good quality items. Sure, some of the items are perhaps a bit plain, but you don't have to take too long to find a few things you'll like. It's certainly not the case of searching for a diamond in the rough. I imagine woman will like the place even more since about 80% of the floor space is for them. There were several shoppers there and they seemed to have no issue picking out great stuff too. Also, prices are GREAT! Anyone who's 'vintage' shopped in places like Kensington Market will know that things can still have relatively higher prices. My items were incredibly inexpensive, including a Banana Republic shirt which showed virtually no signs of wear for $10. I found out at the counter that this is actually a franchise as part of a fairly large chain (which I hadn't previously heard of). Regardless, they're a very unique and welcome edition to the city.

The store is located on 3 levels with sales upstairs, as well as hand bags, stunning shoes and boots, gowns, caocktail dresses and more. The main floor has new arrivals and tonnes of designer brands from around the globel; Gucci, Chanel, Prada and on and on. Some items cost hundreds of dollars but are a fraction of the regular price and sometimes, hot off the runway. This floor also has a great collection of designer hand bags, shoes and jewellery, the most exclusive of which are always located at the front counter, where you may ask to see them! 2nd Nature really is a gem, I would give the store a perfect 5 except for the staff. Their customer service can be very good but it really depends who's serving you and some store staff and clientelle alike can be rude. I phoned again 2 months ago, left a message complaining about the poor service and finally had a call back. They claimed that no one got my messages which I find hard to believe as I was very clear in my messages, leaving my call back number and name, and description of items. Talked with one salesperson and she told me that she would get back to me when they located the items but, they are extremely busy with consignments so it may take some time. I am still waiting. My feeling is, they cannot find my earrings or, they did not sell in due time so they sent them, who knows where? I will not recommend consigning your goods here as they appear to be evasive.

When we asked the desk about the buy 1 get 1 have price deals. The desk told us something different than the floor people. At times I asked if this was a promotional deal and they said only the ones with the sign. This was incorrect as we purchased singles of some items and they told us to grab another one if you want the promotional deal. So inventory on the floor was not organized properly into promotional material. The Cost: The items were fairly priced for the quality of merchandise. Refund Policy: I was concerned about the hooded zipped sweaters my daughter was getting as the zippers were very flimsy. I asked the desk what their return policy was because I was concerned with the zippers. They said full refund with original receipt within two weeks. Exchange or store credit if returned in same condition after the two weeks but the time frame was for that was wishy washy. My wife returned the zippered sweaters the next day with original tags in A+ condition and only received a store credit. So based on this it seems that the employees in the store do not know their products very well and their refund policy. Great place if you know what you are getting and are 100% sure that you are satisfied with your decision as their is no refund only only exchange if you change your mind. And the exchange policy is wishy washy so do not know if you can actually exchange the items after two weeks. I would be careful with anything with zippers - Jackets or sweaters etc.. Because if this breaks I do not believe they will take it back for an exchange based on the stores refund policy and wishy washy time-frame to exchange items. So overall the employees have little knowledge of their products or refund policies and I would only go there if you knew 100% what you are getting as their refund policies have become store credit or exchange only in the firs two weeks.

I'm sadden by all the nasty reviews about the ladies working there. I guess you get what you deserve. Treat people with respect and honesty, and for the most part they will treat you well. I have seen nasty consignors and customers there.. asking for discounts (it's already a discount store... ), arguing about the store consignment policy and pricing, etc - so I can see why this can lead to trouble. On a personal level, I dealt with a few of their staffers, and they went over and beyond to find my unsold items after expiry date. There's a review about "the Asian girl" (as one of the reviewers calls her)... super nice, actually. She called me on my cell to let me know she found them and had them aside for me to pick up. As a consignor.. the usual policy is like everywhere else. 55-60% to the store is standard for the mid-range. You only get 50% for super high end items, usually priced over $500 or so in places like VSP, etc. Sure they have to be picky when selective their merchandise; their objective is to sell the stuff they take, not to clean up your closet of everything you bring. The stuff is ok; yes, some are overpriced and I wish they went on sale more often, but this is not staff's fault. It's also about what you see as value. If you expect a Value Village, this isn't it (thank goodness). I had times when I left with tons of scores, and times when I left empty handed. Frankly, few of us need anything for the most part so it's impulse shopping like any other clothing store... I wish the store looked a little more creative, but at the end of the day, Winners isn't any better. Again, be open minded and kind and you can have a great time scouring.. :)
