Expert phlebotomist Roxie is among the best I've experienced. I've now seen her twice. Maybe tied for 1st place with the crew at SCCA. I hate needles, blood draws, the smell, the sting, all of it. The way Roxie works, I barely felt a thing. For the downvoters... Pish. It's healthcare. Bring a book and chill. Dare I say it: Be Patient. (Haha, I crack myself up.) These people are just trying to do their jobs and help people, despite being part of a fucked up system. Have some empathy. Update June 2018: Amanda is superior too. If the lab opens at 8, the doors should be open and ready to go at 8. Not 8:07, as some folks are on a time crunch to get their labs completed before work. read more

This labcorp is brutal! They aaid they open at 8am and my appointment is 8:15. Woke my toddler up very early like 6am for this appointment. Arrived with my toddler at 7:30am and they are not open. This LabCorp location is an absolute nightmare! I have never had a more negative experience at a Lab! I went today and there were a ton of people waiting in the lobby. It's very clear that LabCorp is facing staffing issues when it comes to this location. The customer service was very poor and the staff were not all that professional. Initially, I was told that they do walk-in drug screens but then told I would have to come back the next day. That was absolutely insane! I insisted that they see me for my drug screen and then the manager told me I could be seen that same day. Why tell someone and have signage that says you take walk-ins for drug screens but yet turn them around for the next day? I was there several hours before closing as well! I was able to get it done, but with some major insistence, and talking to the manager. It was a very cramped space, and with very burnt out and unprofessional staff. Overall, I got done what I needed, but did not have a good experience. I highly recommend avoiding this location at all costs if you can! I prefer the location in burien for my routine labwork. I've had good experience with that specific lab in the past, and with Labcorp in general. But not this time. After lunch, the place was overcrowded; the kiosk scheduled appointments for outside of business hours which staff said were incorrect; information entered in the kiosk like health insurance had to be re entered. Worse, lab my orders were not found despite previously getting many reminders from the labcorp's system to schedule an appointment after the doctor's office had sent the orders. I must note that the satff was kind and helpful. They're clearly overworked. All in all, a routine labwork I've done countless times in the past and takes 15-30 minutes took no less than 2 hours. read more

Came here to get my blood drawn. I had two experiences where the hours on google didn't match what was on the door. Went on a Friday and they closed at 4:30 PM but their online hours said 5 PM. This is a poorly run lab in a small grubby facility. I signed in on the clipboard with time. I waited. I waited. I went down and paid for another 30min of parking. I waited. I went to the desk and asked how much longer and .... they had added a false complete time to the clipboard. I was never called and (perhaps to fake better statistics) they simply put a time next to mine suggesting I had waited and had blood test done in 31 minutes. It was indeed 56minutes. It's 2023), and the excuses from management and the rudeness of staff is inexcusable and frankly dangerous to the health of the clients they supposedly are here to support. Quick and easy. Waited for less than five minutes and entire procedure took maybe two minutes. If you go early in the morning and you hydrate the day before, you will be in and out in 10 minutes. read more

This lab is so incompetent, regardless of my friend telling me this same lab LOST her blood work weeks prior I was able come to the incompetency conclusion quickly on my own. The ladies drawing blood and working the desk were abrupt and seemed irritated by all patients. It took just over an hour wait to get in for a 3 minute blood draw. While drawing my blood the employees talked about how they were trying to rush the last couple patients out the door to get to their lunch break. And the icing on the cake was my blood wasn't sent in for the right testing, so I have to go back (will be going to a different location) and give 3 viles of blood all over again. If I could give zero stars I would... when I went inside I asked the person who was drawing my blood if he's been doing this a long time, trying to have CONVERSATION, and also just ask. He immediately replied with a rude comment like "if you're scared of me someone else can draw your blood." I explained I ask because I get nervous, I always ask the people that, and it was a conversation starter. The receptionist lady leaned over and told me how rude of a question that was. 3 years in a row I have got outraged by this company. Here's what always happens: 1.. My Dr. submits my blood for a lab test and includes my insurance information. 2. They immediately send me a bill DEMANDING payment immediately. This bill rises to the level of being rude. Instead of sending a polite letter telling me that my doctor neglected to include my insurance info. The bill they send is very intimidating and in very fine print says please fill out the back with your insurance info. 3. I go online and provide them with my insurance info. 4. They send me another bill immediately after I give them the insurance info DEMANDING payment. This is now the 2nd bill within a ten day period I have received from them demanding payment. Now this rises to the level of harassment. 5. I call LabCorp and they now tell me that my doctor neglected to include my insurance info, but they have now billed my insurance company. 6. I call my doctor and he says, "No I sent them your insurance info with the original blood test request." Now I am very upset. They were rude with the first letter and it should have never been sent since my doctor gave them my info. Now they are harassing me with a 2nd letter. This company needs to go out of business. My partner & I came here to get blood draws done for work. We both had an appt one for 4 & 4:15. We checked in on their little tablet about 10 mins prior to 4. I was called up at 4:30 and the staff member I got was great (didn't catch her name) on the other hand my partner was called up right after me and was taken back by another staff member (she didn't catch his name either but it was an older Indian man) he proceeded to try and find her veins on the left side and poked her twice as you can see in the photo and was unsuccessful. She said that he then tried to find a vein in her hand and right before he was going to insert another needle another staff member had to step in. He said prior to that "I GIVE UP" the other staff member was able to find a vein on her right arm. WHY is there a staff member who does not know how to do their job ? As you can imagine nobody likes being poked and to have someone do it more than once... very unacceptable!! read more

Unbelievably horrible incompetence. I came in for a scheduled appointment to get a time-sensitive, necessary, and slightly complicated lab test done, one that required preparation on my part. After waiting a week for results (which has never happened before, usually it takes 2-3 days), I asked my doctor's office to check in. Lapcorp apparently lost my results without explanation and said they'd contact me to reschedule the test (they didn't). I have been trying to reach them but the phone number does not connect anywhere and says the mailbox is full. I am not going back there for this test, which I still need in spite of hoping I'd never need to take it again, because I can't trust them at all. I now have to find another way to contact them to both try to figure out what happened and make sure they don't expect to bill my insurance for their gross negligence. read more

My problem is not with the public-facing personnel, but with their billing. Even if you pay a bill on the day you receive it, you will ALWAYS receive a second bill that would imply that you are past due or you have another service to pay for. Thus they ALWAYS put the burden of confirming that the bill has already been paid on the patient. They do not wait for the patient to pay; they make the assumption that the patient has not paid the first bill. This is a terrible business practice. read more

Sometimes this Swedish labcorp site is great, but not today. Receptionist was stressed and rude. I heard her argue loudly with two people ahead of me, one of whom was exceptionally polite to her. While I was about to have blood drawn, she said something loudly, rapidly, and in heavily accented English that I did not quite catch, or was sure was directed at me. But it was about insurance. So I asked her... I was told to "LISTEN CAREFULLY" and she repeated, again in unclear English. Being louder does not make anything more clear. The poor person drawing my blood (also not fluent) was obviously rattled and bruised me. I don't blame her for being rattled, what a crappy work environment. I am writing with Kudos for the staff at the 1101 Madison LabCorp location and Mirna in-particular. I had a HORRIFIC experience at the 17th Ave location last year, so when my doctor told me I had to get bloodwork through Labcorp I felt very nervous. This time I choose the Madison location and it was a MUCH better experience. The front desk person was sweet, kind and helpful and the technician Mirna was fantastic, kind and gentle. To start, I waited a full hour in the waiting room even though I had an appointment. One of the employees kept loudly complaining about what a crap day they were having, and couldn't keep track of who they'd taken back already. This same person calls my name and takes me back, making complaints about their job. This made me feel extremely uneasy. They then proceed to screw up the blood draw in both arms, which was really painful. To top it off, they then dropped the needle on me, which caused the growing uneasiness to become a panic attack. Crying, I told them I was done and they needed to leave. About 10 min later someone else comes in and finally does the blood draw as I'm doing my best to keep it together. And then an extremely unhelpful receptionist refuse to take my paperwork, which meant I just wasted my time I took off from work. (And btw who makes touch screen check-in stations? I had a bad experience today at the Labcorp in Northgate In Seattle. The receptionist was very nice but the person who took my blood was horrible--a messy-looking person who seemed confused, who stabbed the needle into my arm completely missing the vein, then, on my other arm couldn't get a draw until I insisted they find a squeeze ball for me. All this after I waited an hour for my appointment because the Edmonds office where I made my appointment canceled all their morning clients and made us walk in elsewhere. Since when do patients have to get their own lab work done? And why can't we go places where the standards are higher?The waiting room was like a prison--gray walls, bare floors, not enough seating, a random mismatched mirror and artwork stuck on the wall with posters and a screen that ran nothing but Labcorp ads. Earlier this month, we made a 4-hour round trip to the only site in Idaho where we could get a 72-hour response COVID test, handled by you idiots. 4 hours of driving some a tech at Walgreens could tell me how to shove a Q-tip up my nose. Your finally got our test results to us 5 DAYS later. Five DAYS (I'll do the math for you: that's 120 hours. If you can't figure that out, it's a lot longer than 72). Had we relied on your craptastic service, our vacation would have been ruined. As it was, CityHealth Urgent Care in Oakland was able to get us our results in 15 MINUTES. Not hours, not days, MINUTES. This is while you doofuses were apparently imitating politicians and taking your own sweet time doing anything. As it was, we only missed one flight by ten minutes and had to spend 8 hours in the airport waiting for the next flight, along with another family that used your same lousy service. The sad thing is, I spent 5 years as a medical courier, and you were one of the companies we worked with daily, and trusted to get things right and done on time. To be blunt, in case you've missed the point, you suck, and I sincerely hope you go out of business. Keep running things like you are, and I'm sure you will in fairly short order. For the second year in a row having my blood drawn for my annual physical was a miserable experience. The phlebotomists, if that's what they were, seemed incompetent. There were two, leading me to believe that one was supervising the other though no explanation or introduction was offered. the young man did attempt some friendliness, but finding my vein seemed a challenge to him and once the needle was in, he bore down on it causing me considerable pain. I have had many, many blood draws, my veins are not difficult, and most times the process is largely painless. Not this time. When I said he was hurting me the woman/supervisor who had not spoken until then, randomly commented that she liked my glasses. The man then joined in this feeble, misplaced, awkward attempt to distract me, as though I were a toddler. It seems to me that if these health care workers need practice, they should practice on each other, not on patients. read more

I'm a fainter. Show me a needle full of my blood, and *pop*! Out I go. Or at least, I used to be. The last several times I've had my blood drawn I haven't had a bit of a problem. Fortunately for me, I keep getting my blood drawn by experts who don't spend 20 minutes trying to find a vein or sticking my arm full of holes like a human pincushion. The folks at Labcorp are experts. I was in and out in minutes. I let them know I'm a big wuss and tend to black out, and they shifted me over to a room with a bed, chatted with me while I examined a wall covered in decals of underwater creatures, and had me bandaged and done a few pain-free minutes later. You can book an appointment onlne, and pre-pay, as well. All around a great experience, especially for a blood-wuss like me. read more

This review is for the 1101 Madison location. Do not go here. They did not correctly pick the tests off my prescription. I went back and told them to be more careful on a 2nd visit, and they were defensive instead of apologetic. Then they ALMOST AGAIN did a wrong test. Find a lab with better attention to detail than this! This is a business that SHOULD BE all about detail. When they are told to take extra care, they still get details wrong. I went in on a Friday afternoon, about 330pm, for a drug screening. I didn't have an appointment but I really didn't need one. I walked right in, was greeted, signed in, and the doc asked if I was ready to "go." I was honestly caught off guard because I didn't even have to sit in the waiting area. It was definitely the shortest visit to a clinic I've ever experienced. I was in and out in 10 minutes, no joke. And my job and I received my results back in just 30 minutes. Friendly staff who got straight to the point. If only all doctors appointments were this quick and easy. read more

I signed in and sat without any acknowledgement from any staff member for over 30 minutes before I was even checked in. The phlebotomists are also the front desk staff, and do not know anything about billing, insurance, pricing, medical coding, etc. The part where they took my blood was all of 3 minutes and was pleasant enough and painless, however the whole visit taking 55 minutes and the lack of an actual front desk staff and incompetence of the check in process was so awful, I can't help but to give this lab a 1 star review. Also, don't expect privacy, they have you sign in with your full name on a clipboard at the front desk which completely goes against HIPAA and is entirely illegal. read more

First would not help because I did not have paper copies of my lab requests (would not help me print them or scan the bar code). I raced off and printed the copies and then got back before they closed. Was then told they would have to stay too late to run the tests and could not do them. What's the point of office hours then? You either need to schedule an appointment - I never do because of need to be fasting (and I forget that), or come just before 7 a.m. Otherwise you will wait there for a long time - I was waiting for 1.5 hours today. So, I hate the experience! It will be impossible to make an appointment when you are already there, because their web site is as slow as it can get. I will not go back to this lab again. When I made my appointment I was not told that there are hours for those over 65. I arrived 5 minutes early as to cut down on time spent inside the building. I waited 35 minutes for my appointment. The waiting room was about the size of my master bathroom and it was full. I saw no effort to remind people to distance. In order to checkin, one must produce a driver's license and proof of insurance - all to be scanned by a machine in the crowded waiting room. Why weren't people informed when hey scheduled their appointment in order for the entire process to run faster and smoother. One man had to get the aid of the receptionist as he didn't understand how it operates. Upon finally reaching the room where my blood was drawn, the women was wearing a mask with her shield hanging on a peg behind her. When I asked why she didn't wear it, she said "I will in a minute". In the meantime she was about 2 feet from my face. Ugh - don't go there. The entire experience is frightening. read more
