    Thirsty, anyone?
    Michelle M.

Don't go chasing waterfalls. Or maybe do if you've got to be "ready" for your drug screening. Labcorp, and its intuitive website, made the process very easy for me recently. I wish I could say I was ready to "deliver the goods" (as it were) the day of my visit. Sadly, this was not the case. And this is why we have water coolers. After polishing off several cups of H2O, my (very) patient technician walked me back to the exam room, explained the rules of engagement, and wished me a nice day after my...errr...deposit. Considering the folks at LabCorp spend all day collecting what we either void or are grossed out by on a daily basis, I suggest being as courteous as possible. My lack of stars is based more on the lack of functionality for the check-in kiosk upon arrival. If the tech doesn't function, then don't make it available (this is a minor pet peeve of mine).

Scheduling an appointment is easy online. I wouldn't bother calling to make an appointment because it just keeps rerouting you to an eventual hang-up point, without actually getting to a representative. Since my last visit, they updated the waiting room, I find it a little weird. You walk into the reception area there's some chairs TV monitor and two kiosks to sign in. I wouldn't say it's unwelcoming but it's just something I'm not used to when coming to a medical-type facility. Signing is relatively quick, just a few questions and you're done. On this visit the system didn't recognize my appointment; fortunately, I was able to sign up for another appointment 10 minutes earlier than my original appointment, which ended up working out since I showed up early. I've only had one bad experience in the past where the medical assistant that drew my blood bruised the heck out of my arm and it lasted about 2 weeks. Other than that all my other experiences have been good, even today's. The whole process took about 15 to 20 minutes and overall experience is great I would definitely recommend coming to this location if you are in the area and need some blood work done. Just in case you didn't know, they do not perform drug testing at this facility.

This client went to MD now - and the person behind the desk took the insurance card and stated - "we do not accept this insurance." The number to call and verify benefits is on the front of the card - and the person behind the desk REFUSED to call the number to verify benefits. My client was treated and paid $180 for the visit. The client called me the next day - and I was able to verify that MD Now IS in network, and my client should have been covered for the $50 copay. I have been able to contact the claims department at the insurance carrier and have found out the MD Now submitted THAT claim to the insurance carrier - and that the insurance carrier PAID THE CLAIM. So MD Now took money from my client and then accepted payment for the claim from the insurance carrier. (This is FRAUD in case you haven't already figured it out.) To make matters worse - the client was then billed by MD Now for an additional amount over $300. If you wonder why your insurance and healthcare costs are soaring - here is an example as to why. My client has given MD Now multiple opportunities to refund $130 to him. (Remember - he had a $50 copay due - and he paid $180 on the spot at the time of service. They refuse to refund him the money. They say the insurance company owes him (But they don't. The insurance company PAID MD NOW the claim - which MD Now filed.

My attorney and a third party medical team found CERTUS memory…read morecare in Orange City directly responsible for the death of my father due to significant negligence over his 3+ week period of residence last summer. On June 27th 2020 my Dad walked into CERTUS, on July 22nd 2020 my Dad was wheeled out of CERTUS and transported by ambulance to the Advent Health OC Hospital ER. When he arrived at the ER he was in near death condition with renal failure, septic shock, extreme dehydration, untreated extreme UTI, sodium levels through the roof. He lost his ability to swallow because of the neglect and had to be fitted with a PEG feeding tube in his stomach. He spent the next 3 months bouncing around between hospital PCU, ICU, long term acute care and Orange City Nursing / Rehab skilled nursing (another horrific failure where he contracted MERSA in his trachea). Dad passed away October 27, 2020 with his grieving wife (my Mom) at his side. Postmortem test showed NO COVID present. How did this happen? CERTUS corporate chose to save $10/ hour and use a young inexperienced LPN (Amy Kimbal) as wellness director (WD), **instead of a more qualified geriatric RN. The WD completely misdiagnosed my Dad, neglected hydration and fumbled medicine administration to treat a UTI she knew he had. The WD went on to misrepresent my Dads condition to the facility MD, Dr David Heise (1740353465) Family Practice on the Go of FL who made the mistake of listening to an inexperienced LPN and did not conduct due diligence in caring for my Dad by prescribing timely antibiotics. The WD was further negligent by not following up on a late urinalysis (US) and subsequent culture and susceptibility (CS) report. On top of all this CERTUS corporate refused to hand over daily care notes on my Dad to our attorney that they admitted they had but since the state of FL doesn't require them legally, that had no incentive to turn them over. After charging near $6000/ month - yes - $6k per month -- this last item illustrates why the ALF / Memory Care system in FL (and other areas of the country) is broken and corrupt. Recommend you avoid the system entirely if you can. These last 8 months have been a nightmare for my family because of the blatant incompetence and intentional obfuscation by this horrific company. If I could give it negative stars I would."
