After the visit was complete, I waited in the lobby for my paperwork. Despite taking my paperwork filled out and printed for them, I had to redo it online while there. At the end of the visit, they gave me the same type of form that I had filled out except it was completed by hand by one of the staff members instead. After reviewing it, there was a minor error that they checked that shouldn't have been. They quickly corrected it. I'm glad I reviewed it.

As my daughter's condition continued to deteriorate, I made the decision to leave and take her directly to the emergency department at Children's Hospital of Orange County, where she received the care she needed. I was visiting from out of state, which made this experience even more stressful. I sincerely hope I am not billed for a visit where no meaningful medical care was provided. I would not recommend this urgent care, especially for anyone experiencing a potentially serious medical issue. My experience left me feeling scared, frustrated, and deeply disappointed.

My wife and I arrived around 8:00 a.m., not realizing that the office opened at 8:30 a.m. While we were waiting, the receptionist informed the gentleman ahead of us that he would need to wait until 8:30 after completing his check-in procedure. Therefore, we assumed we would also have to wait. To our surprise, however, she kindly invited us to check in anyway. My blood lab check-in went smoothly, but we later discovered that our doctor had forgotten to place a blood lab order for my wife, even though we have always completed our annual blood tests together over many years. After carefully checking every possible screen in the computer system, she explained that she would contact our doctor's office as soon as it opened at 8:30. While we waited without much expectation, she soon called my wife over and informed her that the doctor's order had been successfully placed. We were truly impressed by her professionalism, dedication, and caring attitude. My wife later found out that her name was Kathleen. She deserves recognition for her extraordinary customer service and commitment to helping patients.

They always seem to know how to treat the current flu variation and if antibiotics are warranted or just a stronger cough medicine to help me sleep. I've always been able to make same day appointments, or early next morning ones. They always schedule a follow-up which is often through Zoom, but it's nice of them to make sure I'm OK. Saturdays are a little different though as they don't take appointments, but walk-ins only. That means you might have to wait. You can wait in your car or walk around the strip mall as they'll text you when they're ready to see you, so you don't have to sit in a waiting room. And finally, everything is Wizard of Oz themed, so if you're a fan of the movie, you'll really like this place!

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

I had to get my occupational health screening completed at this particular Concentra and I was…read moresurprised by how efficient the experience was. I super appreciated how little I waited from the moment I got checked-in until I left the facility. The MA who took care of me from start to finish was a gold-star MA. She was not just efficient, but proficient with administering injections and venipuncture. I'm a hard stick and also used to train MAs and phlebotomists. I wholeheartedly wish every MAs are like her. I wish I remembered her name because she really deserves a shoutout. I don't know of any other Concentra that's as coordinated as this location because I was there for less than an hour for all that I needed done. The drug screening took very little to no time even when using the wonky eScreen. The physician came in very quickly to complete the physical itself once all the specimens were collected and the immunization were administered. Just for comparison, my previous experience at a different Concentra location took me a whopping 4.5hr for a visit completion. So I was fully expecting to be stuck there for hours too. Also, the facility is extremely clean and well kept. Parking is free and aplenty right in front of the entrance. Anyhow, if I ever have to get anything done related to occupational health again, I would definitely go out of my way to visit the Placentia location in the future.

I changed my insurance plan this year, so I had to find a new urgent care as well. There are so…read moremany bad urgent care reviews out there, but luckily Sunny Hills is the closest one to me that was in-network has very good reviews. They are located in downtown Fullerton, right on the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Pomona Avenue. There is plenty of parking with one lot just south of their offices by the bus stops, and a larger lot just to the west. I chose to park in the free parking garage on Pomona and Santa Fe so my car would be in the shade. Their website is very good, and allows booking an appointment without having to call in. They seem to have very good availability, and I was able to book an appointment only 30 minutes away from the current time. They are also open from 8am to 8pm seven days a week which is great. After selecting a time, answering some basic questions about the reason for my visit, and uploading photos of my insurance card and ID (driver's license), my appointment was booked. This process took less than five minutes. I was a new patient so I assume I only have to do this once. Once my appointment was booked, they texted me a link with a few more medical questions. The whole process took less than ten minutes, and booking future appointments should be much faster with all of my info now in their system. When I arrived, I just had had to check-in and pay my co-pay which took less than thirty seconds. The waiting room was very clean and has sixteen chairs. There were three other parties waiting, but I was called back to an exam room in only about five minutes. The exam room was also very clean and modern. I didn't catch his name, but the provider's assistant was very friendly and professional. I was in for a sore throat, so after checking all of my vitals, he also swabbed my throat to run a rapid test for strep. He left the room and said once the results were in, the provider would be in to see me. About ten minutes later, nurse practitioner Kim arrived. The test for strep throat was negative, but after examining me, she said I had a pretty nasty sore throat that was very red and inflamed. She offered to prescribe me an antibiotic even though the test was negative, and I agreed to give it a try. She also told me some things I could do to help it, most of which I was already doing. She was also very friendly and professional. I was in and out in a little over 20 minutes. Hopefully it will be a long time before I have to return, but I'm happy to have found a good urgent care center I can go back to without hesitation when needed.

They all seem miserable as if patients want to be at the urgent care in the first place. Healthcare is never fun, I understand that, but patients are sick and dealing with so many different factors that the last thing they need is rude receptionists who just sit down and are on the computer their entire shift. Maybe look into your receptionists because genuinely it is so miserable coming here and dealing with their disgusting attitudes. Be better y'all, this behavior is gross and sad.
