What an amazing convenience to be able to have this preliminary work done in the same location, and be confident the results will be in my file, and in my email inbox before meeting with the doctor. Compared to Lab Corp and Quest, PennMed's Outpatient Laboratory maintains all records in house and their appointments are on time. Their phlebotomists are as skilled as the other places, but they also have other staff present for check-ins and question answering, while those other places are always one person operations with a way too busy nurse running around doing everything by herself. This office feels more comfortable, and at the same time, more professional. So nice for something medical to become more simplified and convenient, rather than the contrary in this modern age of medical anxiety and confusion. This office is definitely a major improvement.

I over heard another staff say, they were about to close. I walk up to the window. It almost 11 am now. I told them I had a 10:15 appt and I didn't hear my name being called. The first staff I speak to when I walked in, says,"Oh I wasn't calling appointment name!?" Another staff then look online found my confirmation appt and I then had my blood drawn. I deliver the patient hermetically sealed in bubble wrap and head out to cool my heels at the local mall for two hours while they were put through the gauntlet of tests and procedures by a faceless army of technicians and care coordinators all I'm sure representing a distinct cost center and link in the wellness revenue chain. When we're done, we'll call you to retrieve the "financially obligated" (patient is so passé) under the gold awning. Don't get ahead of yourself buster, we'll call you. My two hour food court exile over, I return to find the gold awning and circle the facility until air traffic control clears a landing slot. The call comes, they'll be out in exactly seven minutes. Flaps down, I approach the awning and wait. Seven minutes turn to twenty and I'm getting disapproving body language from the orderlies who are apparently paid to be disapproving. Why are you here? I don't know, waiting here with a Panda Express time bomb in my stomach just felt like a day worth living. I have been coming to this lab for over two years now and am thrilled with the service and speed. Cecelia, my phlebotomist, (how many people do you know that know their phlebotomist's name) is super nice, in touch with the patients, and always asks how everything is going in my life. She has always done a good job drawing my blood too. She is the absolute best! I use to go to Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics, where I would wait 45-60 minutes before having my blood drawn. This East Windsor Lab is never crowded and I am always in and out in 5-10 minutes. I'm a little nervous putting this review out there, once everyone will knows about this lab my visits may no longer take only 5-10 minutes. The lab is a satellite facility for the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. It's one of 5 satellite Daignostic facilities that are part of the hospital. They said they know, but apparently no one is FIXING the situation. Also, you cannot get ahold of ANYONE on the phone. My technician did a great job at drawing my blood painlessly, but she was extremely rude and self-rightous about how I should not warn technicians I'm a 'tough stick' because it will scare them. She went on for 10 minutes about it, because I disagreed with her! Finally I cut her off, asked if I was done, and left. I will continue to tell anyone taking my blood I am a tough stick, because I will pass out if they go routing around inside for my slippery veins. Getting my blood taken makes me EXTREMELY nervous. The attitude of my technician and lack of any customer support as well at the carelessness of helping people FIND the location for their TIMELY appointment will keep me from EVER returning to that specific Labcorp location. The one in Lawrence on 206 is 10000000000% better!
