To start: this location is better than the Trenton location on State Street as that place is absolutely horrible. This location has its difficulties too and this review is an overview of those.
First, I don't know what it is with these labs and the need for the shouting. The checkin women are constantly shouting. I found this also true at a location that I went to once in Hamilton where this one woman took the absolute lead on being unable to have words at a decent decibel. At this location the one that yells the most is a Jamaican who is (maybe???) in a supervisory position. I am a West Indian myself so I am not making a racist comment, just an identification. Granted, I don't know the dynamics, but she has to learn that perception is reality and we as customers watch her interactions with others she works with and create an opinion of her and them. That opinion is not a good one.
The last time I was there, I saw an interesting dynamic. The new self checkin system is in place and we went through the computer and the line was long for the actual phlebotomy. One woman on staff left the checkin to see why, if there were three people drawing blood, there was a long line. She asked the young Hispanic gentlemen nicely if he had a lot of viles to draw in his last patient and his response was to ask her 'why?'. She said because she did not understand why there were three techs and a long line still.
Her question was more than valid and I appreciate her asking her staff. Here is the answer: no hussle and no urgency. If you are strolling in after the 7am opening time and acting like you are not a morning person, which seems to be the case every single time I am there, then there is a problem.
That is all I have to say on that. read more
