They didn't have a lot of doctors on staff, but it wasn't a busy day when we went. We wound up needing some more extreme tests and they called around to other Hoag hospital locations and were able to get us a STAT CT scan that same day. The doctor asked a lot of questions and was very thorough. This is a nice local urgent care and way better than going to any emergency room or waiting three months to book with your own doctor!

He's every provider should be at an urgent care or a doctors office or a hospital. Great bedside manner, knowledgeable, reliable and makes your experience as comfortable as possible. I have been there on the days that PA Richard is not there and it is a severe contrast you will experience to say the least. I believe it is the owner that is there on all of the other days, which is every day, but Friday, Saturday and Sunday to the best of my knowledge. I do not recommend this urgent care. Unless you go on the days that PA Richard is there which is Friday Saturday and Sunday because the provider who is I believe the owner is a condescending, rude, arrogant and overall unpleasant human being and I will never see him again that's for sure. I looked at the reviews and condescending. I think I've seen four times to describe in four different reviews of this urgent care. Thanks to PA Richard. This place is still in business, I'm pretty darn sure. Meanwhile the lobby area is filled they have about 8-10 clipboards untouched and stacked and after 20 minutes of waiting for them to help me while I'm standing their directly in front of them listening about their weekend for them to ask me my name, ID, medical information. Nothing finally they help and I fill out the first form of paperwork because I had been there before. The new girl can't find my name proceeds to have me fill out 3 pages of paperwork and ask for my ID and medical information after 40 minutes of waiting all the paperwork they finally announce to the entire waiting room my medical info + that I can't be seen unless I pay $100 due to my insurance not being accepted. If they had asked me for my info from the get go I would have been in another urgent care getting treated but instead I sat there in agonizing pain for 40 minutes before being told my insurance wasn't accepted. Also I did call prior to going to ensure they accepted my insurance. Instead of gossiping and chit chatting in front of all the people who are waiting for medical care do your job! Considering you signed up to be in the medical field we all could have been helped in a timely manner instead of sitting around waiting for these two women finish their conversations about their weekend plans.

When people take time to write about their concerns, that is a warning. This doctor may be competent but the practice is a complete mess. She lets an x-ray tech run the place because that person will be rude, confrontational and dismissive. So much for patient care. There are serious issues with professionalism, patient communication and follow up. There is no patient portal; phone calls are literally never returned; there is constant staff turnover and beware if you ever have to deal with the so-called medical director who is named multiple times in the reviews as in need of replacement. I second that. The doctor will not respond to calls or walk-in appointments. Even if your insurance covers it, they will not hold tele-health appointments until you put in your credit card number. What if you have no credit card or donʻt want the world to have your cc number when it isnʻt used? "Itʻs our vendor, we have no control over it." Change your vendor. This is health care, not profit care. The Physicians Assistant will not consult on the telephone. So either find a way to get to the office no matter how sick you are, or forget about it. When I did put in my credit card for the tele-health, the PA prescribed a medicine without noting that it was off the formulary. The co-pay cost me $430. The place is dark, dingy, completely unwelcoming and looks unsanitary. There is no written material to explain to new patients how to navigate the crazy way the practice operates. Staff are polite but depressed; check out Glass Ceiling to see what the staff really think about working there; it is not good. Find another doctor. This place is a nightmare.

At least let me know you are running behind or give me the option to come back at a different time. Often times patients are squeezing in these appointments in between their own work days, kid pick ups, etc. I think there needs to be more courtesy for patients. I'm just thankful I wasn't extremely ill having to wait this long! Thankfully the appointment with my doctor went great, but I'd love a bit more communication. During the visit, I heard an older woman asking how much longer, so the doctor left and went to talk to her and even tried to reschedule. While I am confident in many areas of my life, I am absolutely terrified of needles, blood, and medical procedures. I was a bundle of nerves, dreading the procedure and appointment. Dr.Colombo immediately put me at ease. She listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and treated me with respect, kindness, patience, and humor. During the procedure, I was squirming, shaking my legs and doing my best not to panic. She never made me feel embarrassed. I can honestly say I have rarely encountered someone as hostile and unprofessional as Derrick the tech at Crown Valley Imaging in Mission Viejo. When I arrived, I began removing my jacket, watch, and jewelry simply to be cooperative. Derrick immediately became confrontational and started raising his voice, saying, "I already told you that you don't need to take off your watch and ring." This was not someone being direct or having a bad day. His tone, body language, and overall demeanor were aggressive enough that the interaction felt genuinely and completely inappropriate for a healthcare setting. I walked in calm, respectful, and friendly as I always do and was treated with open hostility from the start. Patients should never be spoken to or treated this way. Professionalism and basic respect cost nothing. Update: Upon the unbelievable interaction with the tech on Friday, I spoke with Shari the patient coordinator at Crown Valley Imaging and ask for a copy of my report once it became available and it arrived today Monday. I am upgrading my overall rating of 1 to a 3 and giving Shari 5 star rating for being really kind and professional and getting to me what she had promised.
