Dr. Rubalcava is a terrific provider. He treats his patients with compassion, takes the time to understand them and provides excellent treatment. Sofia, the outreach coordinator here, is extremely helpful and attentive. She helps the whole process run smoother and makes sure everyone feels welcomed and at ease. I was accepted here as a new medi-cal patient and assigned an appointment for first time patient evaluation, for almost a month out.. So I wait the month for my appointment to finally roll around, and a few days before the date, I get a call from Imperial Primary Care and.. to make a long story frustrating story and series of phone calls short, they now tell me that they aren't accepting new medi-cal patients. And now I'll probably have to wait who knows how long to get another appointment elsewhere, I feel like my rights to access medical care in a timely manner have been violated, and I will be filing formal complaints.

EVEN WITH AN APPOINTMENT they still had me waiting as a walk in. Apparently with an appointment you HAVE TO use your email/QR code. Otherwise staff will NOT KNOW YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT!!! As customers we're suppose to magically know this information because there are NO SIGNS informing you!! The front desk tried blaming me too like I'm supposed to know this!! Not sure if it'll happen as I already have the standing appointment. The self service kiosk is easy to use, there are four machines near the entrance. Plenty of parking spaces here at the medical plaza. There's a constant arrival of patients, so not likely to be seen earlier than the appointment time. I have no idea when walk-ins would be seen as appointments have priority. I don't recommend trying to get here any earlier than ten minutes. The restrooms are clean, however, there's no wall mounted soap dispenser. That's such a big miss! Super silly having that gallon sized pump hand soap on the cabinet away from the sink. The hand dryer works well, there are no paper towels. This one is weird too, I was given a small plastic double Dixie cup with lid instead of the medical grade plastic urine collection cup. Hmm... Not sure if that was because I had to go before she had a jar ready and labeled. My phlebotomist was professional, yes. But she wasn't as good as the other one I had previously. All I care about is that they're able to collect the blood sample on the first insertion of the needle. Don't miss! Haha.

I can tell and feel the blood guy annoyance and frustration. I understand my little one was yelling but for the same reason, i need someone to draw at home due to my little one health issues. I could feel his passive aggressiveness in the way he respond to me. He is not patient and is not friendly. If something like this triggers him, i can't even imagine when he draws. I wouldn't recommend to people or family who have children with health conditions or special needs. Or even toddlers in general who don't have special needs. Then they expect you to wait a week for an appointment to open up while your kids doctor is waiting on results. Want to speak to someone in person? No one is behind the front desk. Absolute waste of time.
