I don't write reviews but I think anyone who's nervous for a blood draw should go here! I went to get my blood drawn and I am terrified of needles. However, after checking in and waiting max 20 mins for my turn I was called in. The phlebotomist and the receptionist was very nice. But, I wanted to point out that this is one of the best blood drawn I have ever gotten in my whole life ! Kevin, in specific, literally nailed it on finding my vein which some people have a hard time finding. Secondly, he was so skilled at drawing blood I literally didn't feel a thing. No pain, no sting, and no soreness. Absolutely impress on his techniques and precision to make this process as comfortable and easy as possible ! Thank you Kevin!!!! You rock read more

I was concerned about this location, based on several negative reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly front office staff, very short waiting time (I had no appointment and went at 9am) and a technician who found my thin vein in one shot. Would definitely return. The building exterior could use some attention, as it does not look clean or welcoming. That's why not five stars. read more

Reading the reviews prior to going in didn't put me in the best state of mind. I went in on a Saturday morning at 8:30 am. Had like 10 other people when I walked in. Place looks old and carpet looks used. Receptionists were ok. Some people would try to argue with them. Called in at 8:55 for blood draw and out by 9am. Lab phlebotomist couldn't find vein in right arm, so she moved to the left. Without performing any palpitations, she felt the area with her fingers and proceeded to inject a very large needle into my left arm. A shocking pain immediately occurred from point of injection down to my fingertips. Although I've never experienced this type of extreme pain before during a blood draw, I didn't say anything to the lab tech. I assumed this was something that could happen during a blood draw. The pain continued after several tubes were used. After the first tube, the tech proceeded to pull my skin a bit back from the injection site so that the blood can flow out into the tube more flowy. She continued to do this after each empty tube was inserted. My left arm continued to have a shocking pain running down my forearm to my fingers when I straightened my left arm. When the arm is not straightened it has a continuous numbing and tingly sensation through my left arm down to fingers. I started googling this sensation and came across an article regarding Avoiding Nerve Injury From Venipuncture and many other incidences where patient reported this same thing when they had their blood drawn. Lab work, especially pee tests and blood draws are never particularly fun. These are things that just need to get done. Labcorp takes the guesswork out of scheduling appointments and lets you simplify your planning by allowing you to easily schedule/modify appointments online at the ease of your fingertips. I made my appt for routine lab work the night before (pretty last minute) by choosing from available time slots on their site, showed up the next day, and was in and out within about 20 minutes. Its really wiered to see all the online appointments are taken even for the next 90 days and only specific time is available for booking and that too the available times are exactly the same on all the days !!! Looks like an inside job to shoo away possible customers. I happen to check at least 3 labcorp location and every one seem to be running this scam. At least don make it obvious that you guys don wanna have more customer bozos. And thank God for such a useless customer service when I call the 1800 number !!! read more

Parking is good but the wait is long and the worst part is that I and others get billed, wrongly, for months when simple blood work is totally covered by insurance. Labcorp is notorious for this and I will stop going to them. They have the worst coding / billing folks in the business. read more

NEVER AGAIN! What a horrible environment and terrible staff. The staff have no respect for people's privacy and ask you personal questions out loud. The staff also disrespect each other and bad mouth other co-workers in front of the patients. The wicked witch at the front desk is mean. There was a pregnant lady there trying to work up a urine sample. The witch said out loud "what's the problem, why can't you go". The witch lady then called out to me and said my doctor's FAX and phone number was not on the lab request. I told her it was. She said no, I was wrong. I got up and pointed to it on the request form. It was right there under his name. She didn't even apologize. The witch lady criticized every single person who came in for not making an appointment. Everyone said they didn't know they could make one. Finally, a woman came who had an appointment. The witch yelled out to the waiting room that "this woman will be seen before any of you because SHE has an appointment." How sadistic can you be. The wait was way over an hour. A surly male technician came out, took off his lab coat, and announced he was going to lunch. The witch started complaining that she had wanted to go first. At one point, a patient stood up and addressed the waiting room. She asked if anyone else was feeling the hostility of the staff. She said "I don't trust anyone here to stick a needle in me". She walked out. Other people also walked out during the hour. Lab Corp then failed to forward the results to my doctor. I called the Daly City office and asked what had happened. They told me to have my doctor call their headquarters in So. Calif. and try to get the report. Oh sure, a doctor has time for secretarial work. I called the head office. They hadn't forwarded the report because they said the Daly City office hadn't provided the doctor's FAX number. This place has real problems and needs an overhaul. read more

So, there are good phlebotomists here at this location. You just need to know that person's schedule. I've got my favorite down and his name is Kevin. And he works every other Saturday and M-F. Some background...my veins are unbearably stingy. Sometimes they decide to play hide and seek, other times, play "short stop" literally. 3 weeks ago, I came to this location and the 1st phlebotomist, named Amy, tried 2 shots and missed. The 2nd phlebotomist, older gentlemen who looked like he got 50 yrs under his belt, tried 3 times and missed terribly. I left crying with bruises. To be frank, I didn't have the confidence to come in anymore. After recovering for several weeks, I have to face reality. My doctor needs the blood works done. So I went in forewarning Kevin what happened and he took his time searching for a good vein to draw blood as I needed 5 tubes. Once he felt confident enough, he stabbed and to my surprise, blood was rushing down the tubes like the Niagara Falls! This time was successful thanks to Kevin and another gentlemen that helped replaced the tubes while Kevin kept the needle in place. What great team work! I'll be looking for Kevin next time, without question. Thanks for giving me hope to labcorp! read more

Came in for my 730am appointment for out of it before 8am. Front desk guy was friendly and processed my appointment fast. The technician who took the blood samples was very profesional. There was no pain involved and he was very fast. Overall no complains. read more

First of all, the place has no parking which is a NO to me. U gotta find a place to park on the sidewalks. Also, when i came in there are two people who are in the computer who dint even bother telling me what to do or at least give me instructions. I had to call their attention on what to do to if ill just stand there wait to be checked in or sign in or leave my lab order from my doctor. If only its not weekend and if only i can still wait for another few days to have my blood work done, i will request to just do it on seton. read more

Horrible place, Receptionist was not nice, the lady drawing the blood was incompetent. I am terrified of needles and i had to come here to get my blood drawn of all places. Experience: In the beginning it wasnt too bad, I told her that i'm scared of needles and she was nice about it, i just looked away and she got 3-4 tubes. I was so relieved, this is easier than i thought :D. Went home, later found out that they did the wrong test and had to come back that week. This time, I'm a little braver as I already went through it, but this time, no blood came out. She was wondering if i was out of blood in that region, im a biology major, im pretty sure i dont lose blood out of that area just like that.. She kept getting another of the same tube. and poked me in another location, then 3 more location of my left arm. I'm getting dizzy from fear at this point. Later the doctor said you're using the wrong tubes. My face was like wtf. How do you... How long have you been working here to get the wrong freaking tubes?! My doctor is thorough, or maybe just loves to torture me, so sometimes I feel like I live here. It's quick and convenient. This location is a little old and run down but it's clean. Extra star for being 8 times cheaper than the cost of a hospital on my insurance bill!! read more

I"m been coming here for at least 3-4 blood draws the past 2 years. I'm surprised to see the poor reviews. I have come at different times during my multiple visits. On the last occasion, 2 months ago, I came very close to closing (I got lost!) and arrived around 4:45pm! There was only 1 other person there and i was in/out in 8 minutes or so. I do notice that this time things seemed to have changed since my last visit. Seems like they completely changed the staff. Not sure was that as a result of all the "negative" ratings and complaints here? On other visits, I also had to wait a litlte bit. I guess it depends on the day and time you come. read more

I went for two tests: blood work and insulin, which means a urine sample. No waiting to be taken to a room and the phlebotomist was extremely capable and the blood draw was as painless as could be. The bathroom and the general decor and urine collection process left a lot to be desired-- ratty carpet, grubby feel to the entire facility, which is why the three stars. read more

Medical Lab /1/2 DMV - be prepared to be treated with 1/2 of the care and concern as offered by the DMV. Here's how it went...Made an appointment...show up to cramped waiting room w/ no air, waited 45 min...checked in again...waited another 45 min..back up to the 3rd receptionist in 1 1/2 hours, told I'm next...waited another 30 min...meanwhile listening to other peeved patients complaining and phones ringing off the hook/ total disorganization...checked in for 4th time only to hear they had lost my appointment despite having a confirmation #. After 2+ hrs I Drove 1 mile to Quest labs at 550 Washington st and got it all done in 15 min. Do yourself a favor and go straight to Quest the 1st time- you have a choice. read more

I have been coming here for 2 years now. It was never fantastic, some nurses cause more pain than the others, but I am a big girl so it's OK ;) Today I brought my 9 month old baby, first baby + first vein blood drawing = trauma for both of us. Turns out Saturdays are very hectic here. They close at 11:30 am. We arrive at 11. I ask right away if they can still take us without an appointment. They say they can I just need to wait for about an hour. Works for me. An hour later I see a young nurse pick up our blood order, he puffs, shakes his head and gestures us to come in. The mere fact that I am holding a baby does not mean the blood order in his hands is for us. He didn't even confirm the name -- first red flag. So I ask him if it is us indeed he is inviting in, he calls our last name out loud, it is us :) I ask why did he behave the way he did when he read the order, was anything wrong? No, nothing was wrong, he replies. He tells us where to sit, and comments "you picked the wrong day to bring a baby". What????? What makes it a wrong day? Him being tired and not being able to perform? No nurses experienced with drawing blood from babies? Not enough sterile needles? Bad horoscope for the day? I let it slip. He goes back and forth, bringing the necessary things to perform the procedure, and I hear him puff again. The guy is obviously not happy. He puts the tourniquet on the tiny arm, feels the vein. A familiar puff again, then he says he can't do it without someone to hold the arm still. In my point of view there must be some sort of protocol for young kids at a lab, is there one? Is he familiar with it? Everyone is busy, the other nurse promises to help, once she takes care of her patient. Instead of letting us to wait for her to be done they kick us out to the reception again. I really didn't want to move an inch from that chair. But the jerk nurse, he actually has a name - Rico Bartolo, assures we will be next. Did not happen, they remember about us once they take care of 3 more patients in the reception, and there's no one left. There is no way I am going to trust Bartolo with my baby at this point. I hear him complain about how late it is and how late he got out last Saturday - 1:45 pm. Well it is a busy day, but it is only a 4-hour shift on Sat!!!! How tired CAN you possibly be? How about Drs performing on a 24h shift, do they show the symptoms of a minor nervous break down as well? I left, expressing my frustration and taking the "opinion" slip. Mr.Bartolo did not even agree that the comment about the day not being the best for the baby visit was utterly rude and unnecessary. Poor customer service. I waited 1hr before the receptionist closed the door with out notifying anyone they were closing. We knocked on the door to inquire as to what was happening. They claimed they had seen everyone except a "Katu" (they misread "Katie", which was spelled out very clearly). They failed to even try reading or calling out my last name. I had a great experience here. They've moved to a new office in the same building since the last time I was here a few years ago. It's much nicer. The receptionist was pleasant and helpful. I was in and out within 10 minutes on a Friday afternoon. No problem with the blood draw. The Men's room was clean and you dropped your urine sample in a bin before you came out. Man at the front desk was one of the most difficult and unfriendly people I've dealt with ... and I pride myself in getting along with people and compromising. They sent my results to my primary care, when the test was ordered by my specialist. They assured me they would send to my specialist and even asked me for their fax number to do so. Also they would not send me a copy of my personal results. This may be the closest Lab to my house, but I'll never use them again, I rarely write yelp reviews, but I felt i needed to warn people not to use this facility. Not that the technicians performing the tests are bad, but the staff handling the administrative work will cause you a headache. read more

Arrived at 7:11. 14 people in line. One person drawing blood. Let's assume 10 minutes per person to draw blood. You do the math! Ridiculous. You know Labcorp - many patients have to do fasting blood tests. Might make sense to increase staff in the mornings and then taper down staffing during the day. I might drive my pops to a Theranos lab in Palo Alto instead. I think the drive to/from and the test would still be faster than waiting here! Bottom line - don't come to this draw station. read more

if possible i would put 0 stars. I work for a dr's office and tried to get results but with no success. The phone was ringing for literally 15 min. without anyone picking up. Contrary to other reviews, I found the staff friendly, helpful and informative. I came on a Thursday morning so it wasnt too busy. Theres also parking in the basement below the building. Interesting thing I learned from the staff is that you dont need a doctors order to get a blood test done. The results can be viewed online. I currently dont have any insurance so it would be expensive for me to keep going to the doctor to request blood tests if I wanted to check my blood sugar level. This place is also cheap. I thought based on other sites on the internet that I would have to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars to get a blood test done since I have no insurance. It didnt cost that much. I paid $40.80 for a cholesterol test and $17 for a glucose plasma test. read more

I wish I could give a zero. I have been stuck with this lab for years and return ever hopeful that it has improved. Consistently just terrible. One nice tech named Jesse, and a slightly nicer person on the front desk than usual, but even with an appt, the usual long lines, no instructions about collection of samples that had to be done at home, and a very public discussion of my situation in front of a roomful of people. Always a frustrating experience, which isn't really helpful when you are already there for reasons that are usually stressful, Why doesn't this ever improve? The lab manager was especially rude today. When I registered my dissatisfaction with the lack of information or privacy, he retorted that he has been in the field for six whole years. Awesome. Staff was friendly and efficient, but the 2 star review is for the condition of the bathroom, where I was directed to provide a urine sample. One would hope that the bathroom of a medical facility would be clean. The faucets were dirty, "crusty" and looked as if they had never, ever been cleaned. The wastepaper receptacles were overflowing with paper towels onto the floor. Also, I noticed that when the staff member picked up the urine samples to box them, he wasn't wearing gloves. Getting blood work done has always been super traumatic and a pain in the ass because i have very hidden veins making it super difficult to draw blood. But coming here has eased my fears! David is amazing! He knew to use a butterfly needle on me and promised that he wouldn't poke me unless me knew for sure he had a good vein, and he stayed true to that. It was the most pleasant blood test i had ever gotten in my life. Earlier today i came here again for more blood work and i specifically asked for David. I was told he was on his way out and there he was ready to leave but instead he stayed to draw my blood. He could've easily told me to come back at a more convenient time for him but no, he was nice enough to stay and actually thanked me for requesting that he draw my blood. And once again, he drew my blood super quickly, he only poked me once, it was painless and i walked away happy and with no bruises! If any of you have veins that are difficult to draw blood from come here in the afternoon when theres no wait time and ask for David, he is amazing!!! (By the way, i read some reviews about the front desk people being rude but i experienced the exact opposite. They were so nice, they even bought my 4 yr old daughter a popsicle from the asian market right next door.) read more
