Our business plaza HOA had been using a large landscaping company for many years. While their work was done on a regular basis, the property did not look maintained. It look old, unattended. We decided to make a switch and after much research, chose Labahns Landscaping. It has been six months now since we switched and our property has never looked better. Company started out with a bang! We paid them $60K to repair and update irrigation in our HOA. Soon after, they sent a new supervisor who slacked off a great deal as far as keeping up with irrigation maintenance and trash removal. They started raking cobble we had paid for and installed around drains away from the drains This was never corrected. Now a year later, drains are filled with plants, trash and dirt. This is very poor preparation for an incoming El Niño year. read more

Plants trampled on a routine basis despite pointing out this problem many times. They don't clean up the cuttings when they trim, leaving the trimmings on top of the bush, or blown underneath. Today, they actually mowed the ivy growing in one of the beds. Plants are diseased and need fertilizer. read more

Absolutely nothing has improved. It is very clear that neither management nor landscaping cares about what is going on here. They did clean some of the flower beds after management pointed them out. LaBahn was forced down our HOA's throat about 9 months ago when they bought out Juniper Landscape. Juniper had already really gone downhill, but LaBahn took it to the next level. All they like to do is use the blower; mow and blow is how i would describe their attitude. We tried so hard to work with them to course correct. Did a property walk with them. Sent the crew's supervisor Rafeal many many texts asking for very simple things. Pretty much blown off every time which I find ironic because they only like to blow leaves off sidewalks. Here's my message to the owner: You can't grow your business by just buying another crappy business and then ignoring your customers. They started using a leaf blower right outside our bedroom windows that leads to an alley and garage drive way at 730 a.m I had to walk outside and aks him to stop please since we work grave yard and blowing leaves in an alley was unacceptable at that hour he could sweep with a broom. He stopped and left the small amount of leaves for the grounds keeper who later was seen sweeping up the leaves . Will be reporting them to management and filing a report with the city of oceanside if they come back that early with leaf blowers. read more

This is the worst our community has looked since we have lived here! We have been here 15 years. They don't mow regularly, pull weeds, edge, rake the leaves out of the planters, and correct any watering issues. After months of HOA management pointing out what needs to be done, it never is. At 6:00 AM, LaBahn's employees begin operating power tools, such as gas powered leaf blowers, directly across the street from three apartment buildings. They do this every single Monday/Tuesday. Not only is operating power tools at this hour against city code in Pasadena, CA (where this takes place), but it's extremely disruptive to the lives of everyone who lives on the street where it happens. Residents are woken up to the loud, droning noise then forced to listen to it continuously for hours after, usually not ending until after 12:00 PM. Additionally, gas powered leaf blowers are illegal to operate in Pasadena, CA, so that makes two city codes LaBahn's Landscaping breaks on a weekly basis. LaBahn's Landscaping regularly (and knowingly) breaks city code, causing immeasurable disruption the lives of dozens and dozens of residents each week. read more

These guys are wreckless!!!! They nearly ran some young bicyclists off the road in our neighborhood. It was TOTALLY unnecessary as the entire road was wide open. They were confronted by several neighbors who watched this act unfold and when confronted the driver pulled out his iphone and started recording the neighbors??? Fortunately one of the bikes had a rear mounted camera that recorded the whole thing and we're reporting to the local authorities. When you're driving a truck with a large advertisement on the side through a residential area with families out playing, why would you endanger people???? read more

This company is the company that maintains the landscaping in Lake San Marcos. I know the HOA has hired them for twice a week, however, a good company would guide someone as to how much is needed Currently they are chopping all of the shrubs down to nothing, all the flowers chopped off, bushes chopped down to twigs, no shaping of plants just a hack job. The gas powered cutters in a small court yard where residents have the windows open cannot due to the gas fumes The constant blowing of dirt and leaves, if you watch the worker he comes through our area three times and as he looks around he blows it onto the lower walkways and leaves it there vs toward the street OR at least blow the dirt into other dirt areas. Don't leave it like that for residents to walk through. This is left this way each time they are here Last week they chopped my fuchsia plant off, it is in a pot and not supposed to be touched as it's in my private courtyard. Also, they cut branches last week and two branches fell on two other plants in my courtyard and broke a pot and another plant If they are truly in the business or landscape management they should have people trained in the horticulture field that care about beautifying and conserving, not doing a hack job Last week when blowing some of the other items that were cut the area is grass and dirt and there are some patios that are in that area, the worker was on the patio blowing it out and there are two sets of sliding glass doors at this unit. I watched as he was blowing and gawking in the parts of the blinds that were open. I waiting thinking it's not possible but he had the blower turned behind him as he is paying attention to what's inside, I watched from my kitchen window and then pounded on it and said "what are you doing" and he quickly blew it out and got out of there to then blow dirt on dirt down the hill to stir up a lot of dust Also, in regards to conservation, there is too much water in some area where there are puddles in the grass and it's always sopping wet, other areas the sprinklers are watering the sidewalks and not the plants and others they are not going off at all. They do not demonstrate Responsible landscape management based on my area and twice weekly observation. Very disappointing read more

Apparently our property is no longer profitable to LA Bahn so we were handed off to a smaller company. Last year the owner had thanked us for our continued loyalty over the years. Now that's funny! Mark was awesome. On the Thursday before Christmas, I found a leak in my front yard. After a few calls and a visit from a plumber, I realized I was going to have to dig and try to find the leak myself. Unfortunately there was a thorny bougainvillea in the way. Luckily, one of the phone calls was to my HOA and they agreed to have it removed for me. Only challenge was making contact with the landscaper at 5pm on Thursday. With the weekend, rain and Christmas coming, If I wanted the water to be back on any time soon, I needed to get under that bougainvillea and find the leak in a hurry. I made contact with Mark in the morning. He had to rearrange somethings, but made it happen for me. He had his team on the job just after lunch and was done in barely over an hour. In that time he had the bush/tree out, along with the root ball and did a really good job cleaning up. His team also did a great job avoiding 2 sprinkler lines that were precariously positioned at the foot of the tree/bush. Thanks for the stellar service Mark. Definitely helped me out of of a tough spot. read more

Sometime but I did a review on Labahns landscaping, I agreed to take it down as long as the owner make sure thanks for that are taken care of and not done in a way in which cost damage to our personal property, unfortunately they are back to their old ways so I see it fit to repost the review. I hoped that with time they would do a better job and I could post a better review but this is not the case with this company, the employees working here in our association are extremely negligent to doing things in a way that they won't cost damage to our vehicle such as operating a large backpack blower between two vehicles kicking up dirt rocks and debris scratching the paint on our vehicles or dirtying up our vehicles when they've just been cleaned and we're putting large burlap sacks full of stuff right up against your car door please shut the pictures below you can see what they look like. Employees of this company are extremely rude and polite and crass they think because they speak Spanish that we won't understand what they're saying about us when I was fully understood the first time and it was fully understood this time unfortunately for our association Power Stone property management who is also been reviewed does nothing because they don't want to upset the vendor and or they don't want to do any more work than they have to it's not their car so they don't care. This company is no way shape or form A company that I would recommend to anybody for the following reasons they're extremely loud and messy and careless in their work their employees leave trash food in the bushes and grass areas this brings rodents we don't need that their job is to clean up the place not make it worse and help Bring in more rodents. read more

Garth has been great or I should say amazing working with Alta Del Mar. Before Garth came on board, the Board was going to terminate the contract with LaBahn's. But Garth has really stepped it up and has taken a lot of action. He is in great communication with management and the landscape Committee members Mary and Shelly who are also board members. Everyone @ LaBahn's from ownership & management to the phenomenal crew you see each day are AMAZING!!! Here is parts of an email I wrote to the owner: Manuel and his crew are phenomenal. I have grown up with a father in construction, owning his own business with the construction, plumbing, electrical divisions and over 350 employees. His standards of excellence were very high. Being a devoted christian man he urged his employees to always treat a clients home with the utmost respect as you would a church. I felt this same sense of pride with Manuel and his crew not only in their actions, but with their conversation, help and work ethic. Wednesday I was in a bit of a bind. Our delivery for the mulch and soil was delayed and I was forced to rent a truck and pick up the 350 bags of mulch and soil myself. Loading it onto the truck in the rain, driving it to the job-site and unloading it. As you know Wednesday was an awful day of rain and cold. Manuel was here though working. While he didn't have to help, he did make sure there was someone available to me to assist me with unloading all 350 bags (6 pallets and 6 round trips). One of my trips the pallet broke and nearly 25 bags went flying all over Harmony Grove Road below my house. I was left to pick up all these bags alone as no one on the road would help. When I got back to the job-site, Manuel and one of his crew-men were ready to help me having to stop what they were doing. It means the world to me that it went without asking that their willingness and readiness to help was given. I have definitely had a few jobs where a sub-contractor or employee will only do what they were meant to do and refuse to go the extra mile. Saturday was a crunch day. I am very grateful to Manuel and his crew again for staying late, on a weekend to make our project look as amazing as it does. Again a very cold day and some unexpected delays. By the end of the day it was brought to my attention that there was 50% of the Karupia left over. Clearly a very large financial mistake as we didn't plan for it being placed anywhere else therefore there weren't sprinklers ready. This sod is finicky as I am sure you are aware. However; without hesitation and with the willingness to be sure the mistake wasn't a complete loss, Manuel and his crew quickly laid it out and we hand watered it so that we wouldn't loose the overage. Again, without complaint and only to make sure everything was done the best that it could be. One of the men walked my husband through all of the sprinklers and made sure they were on our app program correctly. Very knowledgeable and eager to make sure (we) knew how to set everything up. Yesterday Manuel and some of the crew were back. They were fine tuning and making sure that everything was clean and in order. I made sure that I articulated how much I appreciated his work ethic, his humbleness when speaking with me and/or understanding how to handle any concerns I had. I felt safe with your crew, I feel they respected our home, family and animals. They are all busy, efficient, clean and respectful and I am grateful for this. While I did let Manuel know my appreciation, I felt it necessary that you understood what a fabulous experience I had with Manuel and his crew. I look forward to the next phase...!!!! read more

I called LaBahn's to get an estimate and left a message on their voice mail. It took them 3 days to call me back. The lady scheduled someone to come out in another 3 days. He measured and took pictures and said he would have someone figure up prices and email them to me. After 2 weeks of not receiving anything, I called the office and again, no one answered the phone and you have to leave a message. The next day the lady called me and said she would have the man who came out to measure give me a call. Later that day he called me and said he could get me that estimate in a few days. I got 2 other estimates for the same job and they gave me their estimates within 2 days. I will never refer LaBahn's to anyone. If it takes that long just to get an estimate, I wonder how long it takes them to do a job??? read more

They came and they conquered. Efficent, prepared, meticulous, professional and thorough, they impressed with how a well oiled machine can run. Labahn's was so incredibly helpful with revamping our complex. They came out promptly and gave us a quote that was far less than the other four companies we called. Our account manager gave us his cell phone number and walked us through the entire process of revamping our landscaping. The results could not have been better! After a night of heavy rain we had water pooling along the house and some coming into the garage due to poor grading and lack of drains. Ron came out to give a quote and he was confident on how to fix the grading and install drains to prevent water damage in the future. Other landscapers I had out were not as confident and did not communicate well after coming out to give a quote. When Manuel and his guys came out to make the repairs they were fast and efficient and left the place looking better than when they came. Thank you Nathan. All the companies I had called previous were late, or super demeaning when I tried describing what I wanted. I spoke with this company two weeks ago after they trespassed onto my property and massacred my garden with what appears to be a machete, unfortunately they didn't respond to me with any type of follow up, much like they have not responded to the Better Business Bureau. I was nice filing a complaint with the BBB but now it's going to get very legal very fast. These people were told by me "no entrada", yet they ignored me and destroyed my property. The police were called and that was the only thing that got them to leave my garden and stop hacking away at my 25 year old plants like they were possessed by demons. I have the photos that make me want to vomit, but worse I have 25 years of work destroyed by these monsters who are anything but "landscapers" that I have to look at every day. My garden is my therapy, it's also my livelihood, but most importantly IT IS MINE and no one has the right to touch my property let alone decimate it like they were possessed by a drunk and crazed Edward Scissorhands. A landscaping company that takes a machete to succulents should lose their license, a landscaping company that cuts down one year old healthy and thriving TREES when we are losing millions of trees is obviously a bad company in general, but a company that trespasses onto someone's property who has not hired them and has specifically told them to stay off my property has crossed over to another level of unmitigated gall that won't be tolerated by me on any level. My garden was destroyed by these lunatics, my plants are irreplaceable as it took me 25 years to grow them, and to prove how much they don't give a damn after they broke a glass and wrought iron candle holder, they hung it on my fence to display how much they don't give a damn. I can put damage on display too, and you can bet that I will be doing just that to these careless & trespassing butchers.
