Then I received the bid the next day. After we went into contract his team showed up and started the work. It was started on Monday and pouring concrete on Saturday. They were great to work with and respected our house. What I especially appreciated was the care they took to ensure nothing around the house was damaged. This was a pleasant experience and I would recommend SK Concrete to anyone for their big or small project.

Shafiaq Khouli and his SK Concrete team built on our back yard a 14' x 14' SPA niche including a…read more12' x 12' x 5" reinforced concrete pad, foundation, drainage, three sides surrounding half high retaining walls and embedded SPA electrical wiring conduit. They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.

It is a flagstone patio in which he poured a concrete slab, let it set, then came back and set large pieces of flagstone on top in mortar while considering and making the drainage perfect. Not an easy task and needed an absolute professional and forward and smart thinker about the end project. Art Tarantino saw it all immediately and delivered in spades. I did get several other bids, he was the high end of the other bids, and had a longer wait time, but we are so glad we waited and went with him. His bid was true and we paid the exact estimate (no massive up charge at the end due to....you know the game). Can't recommend Tarantino Masonry enough, it's worth the wait!

I was given an excellent variety of bricks/blocks to choose for the wall, and the one I chose was competently installed. I was pleased to note the block I chose would be sourced from RCP in Chula Vista, where I have been a regular customer. The two workers agreed to relocate the existing pavers for my reuse as part of the original job. I really appreciated that. Although I was in no hurry, the job was completed quite expeditiously with the exception of the iron gate, the installation of which was subcontracted (and reviewed separately). The final results please me immensely. A&F solved a major problem, and I recommend the company to all.

He also measured the existing bricks on another tree box in my yard so that he could find bricks to match. On both days of the project, Luis and his coworker showed up on time and did excellent, careful work. I love how they cut the brick into little triangles to make the corners look good. The tree box looks amazing and is a big upgrade from what I had before. The price was exactly as quoted, and Luis gave me a receipt showing the material costs. I highly recommend Luis and Concrete Creations SD and would be happy to work with them again!

He was the only one who detailed every item involved in the bid, including update of irrigation. I've had issues in the past with bids for other projects that I assumed included the little details but didn't and then I had to pay extra. Michael's bid included every detail in writing that you would assume would be a part of a new lawn job and it was very reasonable. He also showed up on time for the initial appointment! His crew was great! Their work was very detailed and clean. The job was done within three days and all of the work area, including the driveway, was cleaned up. They even noted my falling-apart fence gate so Michael gave me a very reasonable quote and they did a great job fixing it for me. There were a lot of details for after-care and I've texted Michael multiple times to confirm. He texts back quickly and I never get the impression he's annoyed (I've sent a lot of texts!). I almost wish I had more yard renovations so that I could hire him again! I did discuss a whole-yard mulch job and will absolutely hire Michael when I'm ready for that. No more getting multiple bids for future yard renovations. I'll just call Michael.

My front and back yards are about 10 years old, but still look beautiful due to my diligent…read moremaintenance work. Some things I wish I knew then that I know now might help others when planning their yards. Yes, Smart Landscape does a lovely job. Here's what would have made my upkeep a lot easier. 1. Extra protection ground cover to eliminate weeds. Some yards get no weeds because a super heavy cover has been used. I've spent countless hours pulling weeds since yards were done. 2. Go over what plants are going to be used. If I'd done that, I would've saved money and work to remove those that had needles that made it difficult/dangerous to remove. 3. If the designer had visited front yard, he would have seen the slight slope and the DG pathway would not have been a logical design choice. Rain washes it away and I'll have to eventually figure out a way to close up that space. 4. At that time, I didn't meet with the designer. I should have. Although it's a lovely design, I would have pointed out a change or two I'd have preferred. 5. Gray DG is not readily available and it has been difficult to keep the pathway refreshed. Someone said that he was going to provide it, but never did. Overall, I am glad I hired Smart Landscape. UPDATE: I needed to come back to add another star after carefully considering how wonderful Danny and his team are to work with. I had met with no fewer than nine landscape companies before Smart Landscape and they were nightmares for various reasons. Danny is wonderful to work with and makes sure the customer is happy.

Aaron was our sales contact, and he answered all my questions before I signed which made us feel good about using them and had some good suggestions. Their model of doing whatever we need and mixing with what other contractors we use is great; we for example purchased a quartzite slab for the kitchen and Rock N Block did the rest. The prices were very reasonable as well, and looking at the end product I think it was a great deal. The rest of the team, Alexis and Jose, did a great job keeping us updated and keeping our property clean. I'm not sure who the guys were that did the counter build, I think it was someone and his two adult kids, but they did an incredible job and it seemed like they took the time to do quality work. The rest of the project ran into some difficulty with the electrical hookup and gas move, but Jose still got the work done on time and worked well with our countertop fabricator to coordinate what they needed and when to install Overall went really well and would recommend them for any sort of hardscape project.

I had a wonderful experience with Jimenez Landscaping. Edgar and his crew were extremely professional and polite. Our backyard was an absolute disaster and now it is our oasis. Edgar's crew was able to quickly problem solve any issues that arose and really brought my vision to fruition. We had them complete a full backyard remodel; build a fence, grade our yard, install irrigation, pave a porch area, install a gas line and lay sod. Solar and pool repair were must haves with summer approaching, and next on the list was getting rid of a decomposing wooden outdoor staircase with ridiculously oversized and hazardous wood block steps. After consulting with Bryan, we immediately felt confident in his approach and began a fun collaboration to update our property. As the project got underway it became apparent that a simple replacement with a different material wasn't sufficient. No, we imagined something grander -- which kept evolving -- and resulted in what can only be described as a work of art on our property where dirt and rotting wood once stood. Bryan's crew -- Benancio and company -- are a world-class team of builders and problem solvers. To this day, my wife and I can't believe our good fortune that we had this crew all to ourselves for the roughly month of time that the grand staircase, hundreds of feet of new pathway, additional patio expansion with a new gate, and front courtyard gazebo garden took for them to complete. We miss them! We won't miss them for too long, though, as we 100% plan on booking Majestic Hardscapes again for ambitious future ideas we dream up here at home around the property. Even though the quote was not the lowest, it was reasonably priced and they were the only contractors that answered a lot of my concerns. I had several quotes from numerous contractors and all; expect Majestic Hardscape, just give me a price. This was concerning to me because we live on a hill and the side of our yard slopes. Every contractor just suggested laying concrete to the way it slopes so water would run off the hill. Bryan was the only one who suggested that this will need further attention, such as a retaining wall in the future otherwise it will just get worse over time. They were able to level the concrete the way we wanted and recommended us to eventually level the rest of the yard in the future. They even went out of their way to take some of our old stacking bricks and used them as a temp retaining wall to aid the sloped yard. I highly recommend Bryan and his team and look forward to working with them again in the future, thanks again Bryan!

Update since my March 2025 review: Since I was very satisfied with my backyard project which still…read morelooks great months later, I used Precision Landscape when I replaced my old lawn on my side yards and my front yard. I replaced the side yard grass and the the front yard grass area by the sidewalk with rock next. It came out great and have had no issues with weeds coming through like I've seen at some other houses in my neighborhood. I then replaced an area in my front yard closer to the house with the same artificial turf as the back yard and added a small paver patio, perfect for a bistro set. The rest of the old front yard lawn was replaced with rock and stones with two islands. A low wall close to the sidewalk that had been topped with wood was topped with concrete caps which really made the wall look much nicer. To finish off my front yard project, I replaced my old original 1963 cracked concrete driveway with a paver driveway that matches my bistro patio. It's hard to believe what a beautiful transformation I now have from the back yard to the front yard and street! I've had a lot of great comments from my neighbors and others who walk by regularly. Once work started, every weekday was a work day until finished. Each project always finished on schedule. I feel like I have made a lot of new friends after working with so many fine people at Precision Landscape over the last six months. I highly recommend Art Sanchez and Precision Landscape Maintenance if you have similar projects at your home or business.
