I met a new friend here on a Sunday afternoon, just before a torrential rainstorm. Fortunately, my planning to both bring an umbrella and stake out a table indoors won out over their desire to sit at a table outside. I got their Italian Salami panini and they got a coffee beverage. We sat and talked for a few hours, watching the wind and rain beat against the windows. Drenched walkers came in and left, and eventually they had to leave as well. I stayed and got a gelato and a cortado. Both were excellent. The sandwich was ok, but a little underwhelming for $16. The WiFi was great, and the AC blasted like crazy. It was a little much for late spring, but better than sitting in the monsoon. I recommend it, but it's a little too precious for me. (It is in Southern Village, which is a manufactured community for folks who don't really want to live in an old small town, but prefer to have it look like it's. It's kinda like a movie set of Mayberry, not the real thing.) The ladies working behind the counter were patient and pleasant, and extremely courteous. They even brought my sandwich out since it took ten minutes to make it.

We were in a pinch and looking for a gelato after dinner and this was the only place open in tbe area. We got here about an hour before closing and were a but disappointed to see most if not all og their bins empty. We got what we could from the limited options and enjoyed the gelato. We sat in the store for the next hour chatting and it was very comfortablez the flavors were on point too. Just wish they had more options late on a sunday night.

This place is so cute. I love the little shopping center it's nestled in. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating options. I've had a few different options of their teas, coffees, baked goods, and gelatos and everything is always good. The staff is also always friendly and the store is clean. The barista Ava was delightful this morning!

We were in the shopping center, and looking for a place to hang out and have a snack. The barista's were very friendly. The place was very busy due to an event. We decided to try a chocolate chip cookie and an iced rose latte. The cookie was very good and they served it warm. My latte was tasty and I appreciated that they used fresh roast petals instead of roast syrup. It was not too floral and the right amount of sweetness. I would recommend the coffee shop.

Only giving 4 stars due to the gelato being quite overpriced. But other than that, I had the coffee flavor and it was super delicious, zero complaints. They do give you samples like most other ice cream places so you can try what you like before settling on a flavor. The girl at the counter was nice and happy to give recommendations. It was a Saturday so it was pretty busy but definitely didn't seem hectic at all, and the area was kept fairly clean. So overall, it was a good experience.

Went after eating at the nearby grill and was 40 minutes before closing. It has a nice outdoor area, and some indoor space too. It looked pretty clean and menus well visible. It's pretty expensive for the gelato. The smallest cup was 4.50 after tax it probably closer to five dollars. They give you tiny half teaspoons to make it seem like it's a more than it is or slow you down eating (I know this is average for high society gelato but imo it's nonsense). ‍ I got the strawberry and the mango gelato. Both were really good but the mango was more a sorbet and very refreshing, definitely would get it again. I'll have to come back to try the coffee. They had a very interesting pistachio chai latte that piqued my interest.

Pistachio chai latte - seasonal offering !
Youngone K.

This is a cute local coffee shop to check out. There were fun seasonal beverage offerings which I always adore. I got a pistachio chai latte which was a bit weak on the chai flavor but was definitely a treat. My friend got a lavender cold foam? Iced coffee seasonal drink and she also enjoyed how not too sweet and flavorful it was. The baristas were polite and fairly quick with it so no complaints there! The place could use more savory breakfast sandwich/pastry offerings but was a lovely place to visit with a friend on a lazy Sunday.

My husband had essentially the BLT plus avocado and turkey and I think that was even better. Could do with some fries instead of chips though . Coconut cake was also delicious! I can totally see myself enjoying a cozy soup and hot sandwich on a brisk fall evening with some live music under their string lights.

Merritt's is a place on my list (and my mother's) for a while, and now we have a chance to visit. We made small talk with the staff. They were thrilled to learn my mother bookmarked this place when she worked at UNC Hospitals some years ago. The staff treated us well. They call out orders by name, so listen closely for your name. It was too hot to eat outside, though I imagine their bamboo patio out back will be delightful to sit at in the cooler months. The inside tables along the window have a view out to the street. There's a display case featuring fresh made desserts and other sweets worth checking out. I loved the fresh tomato, lettuce, and crispy bacon on this sandwich. I'd enjoy coming back, though I think I'll take my sandwich home next time. BLTs are the specialty here, and they do a great job making them.

Even though there was a lawn concert going on, which meant it was going to be crowded, I managed to parallel park on a side street. The inside is incredibly small, maybe 7 or 8 indoor tables and a counter against the wall with 6 or 7 barstools. They do have some covered seating outside though. I ordered a double classic burger, medium. I never expected that it would take 30 minutes, but it did. With a drink, my total was about $21. So since I would have to wait longer than I anticipated, I got an Arnold Palmer and walked around the area for a while. Alcohol is available if you want. Draft beer, canned beer, bottled beer. I think they had some seltzer as well, but not totally sure about that one. Once I came back from walking around the horseshoe, I grabbed a stool. I liked the wall decor with the license plates from various states. The staff brough the burger to me and I have to say it was quite big, especially since I spent the $4 for an extra patty. The burger was closer to medium well, it was mostly gray inside, but it was still juicy and that's all I really cared about. American cheese was decently melted. The potato roll was wonderful. Veggie toppings were fresh, which I always appreciate. I Though the wait was rough, it was a tasty burger. I might have to try the smashburger one of these days. Or the turkey burger, that looked really good too.

As a big fan of The Bear, I knew this was an event I couldn't miss. I've shared the full menu, but a few of my favorite bites of the night: The surprise bite: I truly wish this had been the size of a full ice cream cone. The salmon purée was creamy and flavorful, and the black sesame cone added just the right amount of savory crunch. Focaccia: The focaccia itself was great, but I'm really here to talk about the butter. Whipped "Orwellian" butter with ribbons of flavor running through it. This was one of those bites I wish I could relive eating. The person beside me had the good sense to ask for a to-go container, and I'm still kicking myself for not thinking of the same before they whisked my plate away. Caramel: Honestly, they had me at corn. But this was such a savory, rich, comforting bite--the kind of food that just warms the soul. Lamb: I was a little apprehensive about lamb covered in a tuna and anchovy sauce (tonnato), but somehow it really worked. It was one of those unexpected combinations that you just couldn't stop eating. And the lamb itself was incredibly tender. Overall, such an excellent event. The food was fantastic and really well-paced, and the chef and hosts were super friendly and informative throughout the night. In addition to their fun dinners and pop-ups, Wedgewood is, of course, as the name suggests, a cheese bar! I'll definitely be back sometime for a glass of wine, some cheese, and maybe even some butter.

They had four beers listed online but only three on the menu in house.? I had the Italian Pilsner. Very informative and friendly staff. The menu features cheese dishes (obviously) and sandwiches, salads and desserts. I ordered the Raclette because I love it and it's hard to find. Wish it was a traditional Swiss Raclette where the cheese is melted on top of a half wheel then scraped off. But this was a French Raclette according to the menu which had thick slices of cows milk melted over halved fingerling potatoes ( under the cheese in the picture ) with sides of good sliced baguette, salami and more small cornichons than I've had at one time in my life. While it tasted good and filled me up, it wasn't the best I ever had. But it's worth a visit. You should check it out.
