I made it through 2 tattoos, I should do fine. Fortunately, I had Alana here (hope I spelled it correctly!), and she was fantastic! Super encouraging, warm, and understanding if this newbie. I was surprised at how little it hurt. I mean...it's not pleasant having your cooch groomed, but I was expecting to be like Steve Carell in The 40-Year Old Virgin. Nope! Aced it! It's out almost before you have a chance to react. I spent around $50 for the French variety with tip, and definitely plan on coming back for more services.

The spa is in a convenient West End location that was easy enough for me to get to from SW. During all 3 of my visits, the staff were so warm and welcoming. The spa is clean & quiet, and the treatment room is very relaxing. I had a different aesthetician for each of my facials, and they all did a good job. They were able to answer any questions I had about the eminence products used, and customized my facial according to whether or not I was going out after or going home (ie. redness, shine, etc.). Elysian has an easy online booking system through their website, and I notice they have promotions on their Facebook page so you should check that out. Overall, I would definitely recommend Elysian and I'll be returning!

Experience was good but not satisfactory. I've noticed that she did not take time in scrubbing my foot while my co-workers are getting their foot scrubbed and callus removed. You noticed that there was not even any flakes on the cloth she used for me because she did scrub them for a minute or less. I was observing how the other ladies are doing my friends' and they were all taking the time to scrub. I haven't had spa for years so there's no way that there's nothing to remove. I did not want to ask or complain as I did not want her to feel humiliated as everyone would hear for sure. It couldn't be possible that she forgot as she should be trained on how to do it and should take time to give an excellent spa experience. The place is very clean, modern, and comfortable except for the manicure section which is isolated and so tiny, it does not feel comfortable.

Today was my 3rd visit to Life Stiles (http://www.lifestiles.ca/)…read more They offer chiropractic treatments and spa treatments such as massage and laser hair removal. The building itself is kept immaculately clean and the staff have always been uber friendly and professional. I originally purchased a Living Social (think Groupon) deal over a year ago for laser hair removal. I found out shortly after that I was pregnant and was unable to use the voucher. The laser technician, Jillian, offered for me to return after I had my baby and advised that they would extend the expiry date. Since having my baby 9 months ago, I have come for 2 session, with Jillian, who has been an absolute pleasure. I was definitely a little nervous, to say the least, that I may be treated differently because of my voucher but that has not been the case. They have free parking spaces in the back (so don't pay at a meter on 124th street) and a basket of sandals to slip on when you come through the door. You will walk through the Chiropractic area filled with modern items like stability balls and a trampoline. The decor is gorgeous and quite tranquil! The owner, Dr. Greg Stiles, is a chiropractor and I have run into him several times - and is he is as charming as he is handsome. I have overhead him working with patients and he has an amazingly calm and gentle demeanour. Even Jillian, the laser technician I see, has only had wonderful things to say about working for him. In fact, when I consider chiropractic treatments in the future I will start with Mr. Stiles! I also appreciate that they sell items that are health conscious - nail polishes free of dbp, formaldehyde and toluene. The also carry the Juice Plus line of greens and fruits that is supported by Dr. William Sears (www.askdrsears.com) - MY FAVORITE go to doctor and website for all things natural and parenting! They carry a few of his books here and I also was able to check out one of his DVDs to borrow for free! Upon arrival, I am always offered complimentary tea (and they have quite a selection) or chilled water. They have apples and snacks in their tranquil seating area that also boasts a fireplace. I uploaded a few pics - so check them out! I've also picked up some goodies from their clearance bin for my toddler (nail polish free of all that junk I mentioned above) and some high end make up items for myself. Check out their website and you will find a link to both their Chiropractic and their Spa. The website is gorgeous - a real plus in my books! The Chiropractic one has this listed for services: To best assist you in your quest for optimal health, our practice provides many products and services including: Chiropractic care for health matinance, motor vehicle accident treatment and pregnancy Massage therapy and accupuncture Erchonia cold laser tteament Revlar oxidative stress testing Posture analysis Dietary supplements and support Bodo infared sauna Exercise support The Spa site has the following listed under services: Relax, Rejuvenate, Enjoy We are proud to offer top of the line treatments using world renowned product lines and performed by friendly, professional service providers. Acupuncture & Massage Advanced Skin Care Bridal Packages Chemical Peels Facials Feet, Hands and Body Laser Hair Removal Laser Treatments Men`s Treatments Packages Visa Complexion Analysis Waxing and Threading I should also mention that they have evening and weekend appointments available - a definitely plus! I really cannot say enough about the overall atmosphere of this place! I feel very fortunate to have tried them on a Living Social voucher and I definitely see myself continuing to utilize their services! So this is a rarity for me, but I'm giving them 5 stars! I'm not quite sure how I'd rate them for ALL of their services but my experience so far could not have been any better! (And a 5 star experience on my 3rd visit on a Living Social voucher - we all know how those experiences sometimes turn out!)

My old skin care routine is no longer effective so I sought out professional help and booked a skin consult here. Well they cancelled on me twice, then finally when I had my initial consultation the esthetician didn't ask me anything about my skin or my skin care routine or the products I was using, nothing. I explained to her what I had just been through and how it affected my skin and asked how I should care for my skin. Her response was: "if you are on cancer medication you can't have laser". "But overall, just looking at you, your skin is saggy and you looked tired". "My professional opinion is you should get filler". No Joke, that was her response. Really? Omg, I just had half a breast removed and went through radiation therapy, of course I'm tired! I felt like crying and stormed out. Who treats someone like that? I went in trying to feel better not worse and I left feeling just awful about myself. How unprofessional, tactless, cold, insensitive, inconsiderate, unfeeling, thoughtless, uncaring, callous and cold-hearted. I understand that part of an estheticians job is to upsell the client but really, have a little common sense and use some discretion. Just because you have a job to do should not mean that the client is unworthy of consideration or respect.

I purchased a buy 5 get 1 free deal. Management changed before I got my final treatment, and now…read morethe new owner (Nicole) is refusing to honor the deal or provide a refund. Nicole told me she would look into my file and would call me back the next day. She mentioned that due to the change she does not usually honor packages previously purchased since she has to incur the expense that a previous owner received revenues for. Her reasoning made no logical sense She did not call in the time frame indicated above so I tried to follow up multiple times. I had to call at least 15 times as she proceeded to ignore and avoid my calls for weeks.  Nicole was unethical and unprofessional. She has no appreciation for customer loyalty, takes no accountability and handled this matter poorly.  Skin and body has changed their management a few times and I can see this trend continuing in the future with this type of ownership.  To anyone reading this, please be cautious before prepaying for any services with this company. Chances are your money will not be recouped if management changes once again.

I have been waxing for over 15 years, and I don't find it all that painful, but the results are very short lived, after 2-3 days the hair was visible again. After the first laser treatment on my back, the skin was very slightly pink, and was gone by the next morning. Afters six weeks there was so little hair I continplated not not going back because there really wasn't much for signs of hair at all. The results where so good on my back I decided to go ahead have my chest/abs done today, if the results are any where near what I have had on my back it will be money well spent. The staff is very professional, and plesent to talk too, while they worked on me. As other people have stated, it really is almost painless, I would describe the sensation similar to a very very mild electro static shock. I did notice the sensation did seem to be a little more noticeable on the courser chest hair then on the finer back hairs, but no where near what waxing is. The only things I would like to see this company do different is get more machines, as they are very busy and booking a time is very limited. And secondly get a freeking bottle warmer, for the ultrasound gel.
