This was my first visit to Body Polish but it will not be my last. I booked the Body Polish Deluxe Package (Sugar Scrub, Body Wrap & Lotion and Spa Facial) with Gurleen and I am hooked. Somewhere in those 3 hours I thought to myself I need to do this quarterly. When I checked out I booked another session in 3 months. It was one of the best facials I have ever had and I have had roo many to count. I really enjoyed being presented with the scents that were available upon my arrival. I had it narrowed down to three but decided to go with Gilded Wood's as I felt like it was a cozy kinda day. Can't wait to explore the other scents and services. read more

I would not even give this place 1 star, but I had to give them at least one. I scheduled a 'classic facial' for 120 minutes. This included facial extractions, mask, face, scalp, hand massage, etc. She did not do any extractions from the front of my nose or all of the ones on my cheeks, she also did no scalp and hand massage, which were what I was actually looking forward to the most. The front staff shouldn't be representing this business as you come in and leave. These girls are working in the service industry and we're completely miserable. My neice scheduled the 'spa pedicure with parafin' fir the same time I was having facial. There was no dry skin removal from her heels and they didn't let her keep the little bottle of nail polish after, as promised. My neice takes good care of her feet, a week later while on vacation, she had a proper pedicure ($50 less than this place), and so much dead skin was removed from her heels, skin that was not removed a week prior at the 'spa'. Don't waste a penny here. Huge regret for us on price and nice day out. read more

Good morning I don't do this sort of thing but felt I needed to. let me start by saying I am a big fan of this spa. I have always enjoyed my time at this shop and have always felt connected and given open communication. Something is very off my last 2 visits. I am a counselor trained to pick up nonverbal and body language. This environment has lost its ambience and if I am on my game staff are not happy they are all still professional and present which I have always respected. There is something just under the surface an unhappiness. The treatment part of me would say a depression or burden. Just in the way of feedback you need to change whatever you altered to fix it. Too much change to fast has profound mental health effects and in business you will lose workers and clients. For myself I have always loved going in not so much lately my visits have been cut quite a bit and I have used the other place over there 3 times. Let me say the ladies are always professional and do their jobs. My husband and I have been getting massages at Body Polish Day Spa for over 7 years. Love them. We have moved to the south side Windermere area but we travel to Body Polish Day Spa for our massage. Always great no matter the massage therapists. However we do have our regulars. Not sure who thought they were stuck up. Have NEVER been that way for us. read more

I got a number of services done at Body Polish Spa, so I'll talk about each one individually: Sugar Scrub and Body Butter - The product itself is gentle and nice. It left my skin soft. The girl doing the service was nice and we chatted and laughed through the whole service. The only little glitch was that the disposable underwear that is usually supplied was actually a headband (that's not a euphemism. It was an actual headband.). The room was a little small for her to actually get around with the bed in there, but she made do. Facial - I've never had a facial before so I didn't know what to expect. The products themselves were nice. I didn't really enjoy the extraction process, and my nose is just starting to not hurt along the side because of it (4 days later). When I got home, I could see the job was not complete. But for moisturizing, the process was quite nice. She didn't really explain what was going on my skin or why. Lip rejuvenation - I really don't see a difference in my lips because of this, but I tried. My lips are still quite dry. At the end she put a gloss of some kind on with a q-tip, which left cotton behind. All the money coming in for treatments and they don't get disposable applicators like they have at Sephora? Eyelash tinting - I had high hopes for this! I have very light eye lashes, and wear mascara daily. I got the darkest black they had. The process itself is very simple and pain free. The only down side was that while you're waiting for the tint to sink into the lashes and you're sitting there with your eyes shut for 15 minutes in the only room I found in the building with no music in it. The results were nice, but not as dramatic as I would have hoped. It looks better on my bottom lashes than my tops. I would consider this if I was heading on a beach vacation to have decent lashes that wouldn't run in the water, but not for a regular service, since I've had to put on mascara every day since. Manicure with Shellac Polish - I have a shellac polish home kit, so I'm familiar with the process. She was worried that doing the hand parifan during my facial, which she did, would reduce the hold of the shellac. She double buffed the top layer of my nails, which thinned them considerably. I love the colour, but I know it won't stay on long, since the pinky's polish on my left hand was lifting half way home, and the left ring was lifting the next day. But it's not because of the parifan, it's because the polish is so thick! With shellac/gel polish, the trick is thin, even coats, but the edges of my nails are so thick, there is no way to cure it properly. Also, the edges of the nails were still rough when I got home, so I had to file a bit, breaking the seal on three nails. The surface of the polish has bumps and grooves that I keep playing with. I'll be going back to my regular polish at home, which lasts quite a while. She said they have a two day guarantee on their gel, but I don't have the time to go back up to the north side of Edmonton to get it fixed. Pedicure with Shellac - it looks like she took more time with the feet, because they are staying quite well. She didn't know that I already had parafin on my feet during the Sugar Scrub, so she only roughed up the surface of my toe nails. Following the polish, there was the soak, buff, and parafin, which were all fine and left my feet looking good for my event on the weekend. When they called to confirm my appointments, I asked when I was going to be done to appropriately plan my day. I was told I would be done about 4:30 pm, which was great because by the time I got back to South Edmonton I could pick up supper for my family and take it back home right away. Well, when all was said and done, I was done at 2:30 pm, with 2 hours to spare. I didn't want to go all the way back home (I live in a community south of Edmonton, and I would use that time to just drive home, turn around and come back). So I ended up wandering around West Edmonton Mall with no makeup on, trying to kill time before the food was ready. The spa itself was clean and well appointed, but there were definite things to improve upon. I had money left on my gift card once all was said and done, and I gave it to a friend that lives on that side of town to go get a pedicure, as I don't see myself driving all the way up there to use the last $35. If it was truly outstanding, I would, but for an alright experience, it's not worth the gas. read more

I have been here a couple of times and each experience was worse than the last!! On one occasion I got a bikini wax in which the girl was rude and unsympathetic to such a sensitive area. When she caught my skin and didn't pull the strip off correctly she said "oops". I then bled and had a bruise for at least 4 days. I left in tears. Another occasion is getting my makeup done. The woman took one look at me and said your face is so infected what are you doing to it and continued to grill me about it; making me feel disguising. I was there to feel pretty not ugly. She then kept trying to get me to book in for peels, the whole time I was wishing to leave. The staff here need some customer service training but for some I guess plain manners and kindness cannot be taught! read more

I have been going to this spa ever since External Affairs focused more on Botox and cosmetic sugery. I have enjoyed the pedicures, manicures, facials, threading and waxing. Daisy is my favorite person for hair removal. She did my husbands monster brows and made him look great. The massage was the only thing that wasn't great or bad just normal. If you are looking for a theriputic massage try the MYO Centre on 127 street and 132 ave. The spa has a relaxing and warm feel to it. The free coffee, snacks and water are a nice touch. I have been going to this place for waxes and pedicures for years! The wax is always clean and comfortable! The ladies are sweet and very wonderful! The pedicures are really expensive but they spend time with you! I did have one that forgot my paraffin, but when I called they fit me in to rebuff and moisturize! The massage that I had was great. I found that the massage was just the right amount of hardness. The girl who did my massage was not soft at all. But the massage was just what I needed. The good: I honestly only come here so often because of it's location. Where else can you find a very nicely decorated, complimentary tea and snacks, kind of spa on the northside? Their prices are fair, especially when you buy things in combination packages. The fact that they now have a point system is also a bonus (though I haven't figured out yet how to utilize them). Where to improve: The rmt's here are a complete hit or miss. Monica is the most consistently good one, she seems to give "real" therapeutic massages, whereas the other girls seem to use less pressure, or are maybe more accustomed to doing relaxation massages? The front desk girls are rather cold and snooty I find. They are friendly when you call them, but in person, they always leave me with the feeling that they are unhappy.. or that I don't belong here, etc. I think this is the thing I dislike the most about Body Polish. I have been to many spas around Edmonton, and they definitely have the unenthused front staff I have encountered. This is the biggest place where Body Polish can improve. read more

I was given a gift certificate for my birthday to Body Polish. I decided to try them out for the first time today and ha my brows waxed by Susan. I am very particular when it comes to my brows and was very impressed with the attention to detail, and care that she put into creating the right brow shape for my face. We discussed my goals and she gave me tips on what to do going forward to achieve them (brow wise). It's very reasonably priced for a brow shape (wax only) but I consider it brow therapy and I can't put a price on this quality of service and expertise. She even filled in my super blonde brows before I left! I will definitely be visiting again for my brows and other services! read more

Sadly, I was so disappointed on my third visit to Body Polish. My previous two visits were for leg waxing, and all was well. I believe my second visit was with Maila, who was fabulous. I highly recommend her. Quick, professional, and very friendly, with the ability to make you feel comfortable during the waxing. The prices are very reasonable, and the spa itself is relaxing and has a very upscale, professional look. My disappointment and PAIN came on my third visit, which was a birthday gift to me from my boyfriend. I was there for a leg wax, and my appointment was with a different woman. Due to the review guidelines, I can't write her full name, but her first initial starts with an A. She clearly does not know how to wax. I had to tell her not to pull up and away from the skin, and even after I told her that, she did it repeatedly. I was able to bear with it for below my knees, but when it came to the upper thigh area, it was unbearable. She kept going over the same area of skin until I would tell her to stop. She would then tell me I have so many ingrown hairs that she has to go over the same area , over and over. I am 38, and I have been getting waxed for a good 15 years now, and I have never been told that, never have I had to tell someone the proper way to wax. She kept trying to sell me some ingrown hair lotion throughout the appointment. On the 10th (yes, TEN) spiel, I flat out said I can't afford any lotion, so please stop asking me if I want to buy it afterwards. That is when she made a call on her cellphone, but it wasn't in English, so I have no idea what that was about. I found it unprofessional though to stop the waxing and have a 5 minute conversation while I am laying there on the table. She also left the room at some point for more wax. Anyways, when she got to the area above my knees, she did the outside thigh first, then got me to lay on my side so she could do the other thigh. she didn't seem to think it was an issue that my legs were sticking together due to the was dripping down towards the inside. When she got to my inner thigh, it just became unbearable. Honestly, I don't know why I didn't leave much earlier, but I was assuming she was trained, etc. She repeatedly went over the same area of skin on my inner thigh.. to the point I actually yelped and sat up. That is when I noticed my skin was actually already bruised the size of my entire hand, and there was drops of blood. Blood!!! That is when I stopped feeling intimidated and told her I just want her to stop everything. I said that 5 times, and she wouldn't leave, just kept asking if I was sure. I finally just hopped off the table and dressed in front of her, then left the room. She then stated the service would be FREE. At the front, the two girls didn't know how to handle the fact that I was in tears. I told them she didn't know what she was doing, and the three of them (the waxer and 2 front girls) went behind a curtain. Turns out my bf had paid upfront, so it was not longer free. At that point, I just gave up and left. My boyfriend was so upset when he saw my leg and that I was in tears that he asked to speak with the manager. The girl at the front gave that information to him since the manager wasn't present. To wrap this up, it took him an entire month to get back his money. I would have probably returned, but after being ignored by the manager for a month, I now go to a lovely place downtown called Ahava Day Spa. Been there a few times, and each time has been wonderful. Body Polish -- be careful of who waxes you, and good luck getting anyone to help you if you had an issue. read more

Went with my wife recently for a couple relaxation massage and it was one of the worst one we had there. I asked the girl to spend more time on my neck and head because my neck and head kind of sore looking at the monitor all day but she only spent a few minutes. The girl did not seem to be in the job as well, during the message, she left the room for a few minutes without saying anything or made up the time when she was away. My wife also did not enjoy her massage as well. I am thinking some of them are rookies. I don't think we will go back there again and we are looking at different places now. read more

Have been in for a pedicure not too long ago and the girl at the front was very friendly. I did not have to wait long before the girl doing my pedicure came to get me, which is nice because it can be awkward waiting sometimes. She was a very nice young woman and we made pleasant small talk, never straying to unprofessional topics, which i appreciate very much. The girl is very good at what she does and i was quite happy with the job she did, although i wish the massage were a bit longer. My toes looked great for weeks this summer and i was quite happy to wear my strappy sandals everywhere i went, knowing my toes looked so nice. I have been here a few times and I always get a different girl for a pedicure( and the only reason i go here for the pedicures is because they are open late and on Sundays that is the only plus) some the girls are amazing at pedicures while others completely suck. so becarful if you are not happy speak up right away keep at it. Terrible. Worst pedicure ever seriously I could have done it way better myself. Basically they just clipped the nails and rubbed some body scrub on my feet. Nail polish was applied unevenly (looked like the bottle was dried up) and then they overcharged me by $75 dollars, te receptionist didn't even know what services I actually got. I went to Body Polish Day Spa today. Before I even made it inside I fell out front of their store into a snow bank (icy sidewalks). Once I got inside no one greeted me, had to announce myself. I saw Daisy for threading, she did a good job (though my brows ended up thinner than my usual shape, I just asked for a clean up and to maintain shape) When got back to the front desk I was stunned to find out the cost of threading $29 for 10 minutes work. I said I was shocked at the price and the manager stated they charge the same as waxing, I mentioned that I normally pay $15 for the same service on the south side to which she replied that they were always booked in a snotty tone. So I let her know that I didn't think try were very competitive, she said they were. I suggested she call around and find out what other salons are charging. She was angry, I let her know I would be returning to the southside as it was the same distance. read more

I went into Body Polish for a simple eyebrow wax and tint. The staff were definitely not as friendly as they were last time I was there a few years back. The girl that did my brows was nice enough but very sloppy in her work. The tint job she did was great. I wanted my brows much darker as I had a hair appointment that evening and was planning to get a much darker hair color. The waxing is what I was not impressed with. When she dropped wax in my hair she tried to get it out but I knew she was struggling and it wasn't coming out. I was frustrated and just really wanted to get out of there and work on getting the rest of the wax out of my hair. My eyebrows were much darker as I had wanted but we're still very thick and shapeless. I went home and discovered even more wax in my hair than I thought. It took a good hour of obsessively picking at it to get the wax out from 2 spots. Luckily during my hair appointment, my stylist was able to get another girl in the salon to do damage control and she fixed my brows and gave them a nice shape. read more

This is my boyfriends go-to gift for myself, his sister, mother and grandmother. The building itself is beautiful, relaxing and clean. However, for the amount of money he spends there the customer service is less than great and the services are mediocre. First, even to book an appointment is a nightmare every time. I understand that it is busy but there is no help from the staff to find you a date and time that works. Once finally booking, it is next to impossible for them to stay on schedule. Literally every person I know who has visited here has been called hours before their visit to inform them that their appointments have been pushed back or ahead. I am working on my 4th visit and I am frustrated and will not be returning once our gift cards are used. All though the services are not horrible, they are not worth the money paid when you factor in the customer service value you would expect from a place like this. hi I am Nicole George, I work at roxx salon spa, and i have been in the service industry for many years 14 years to be exact. Sometimes it is nice to go for services some where else. I have been to body polish day spa a couple of times before, but today topped the cake!!! I called this morning for nail fill and I got in (i was excited) to get my nails done. My appointment was for 7 pm so I had to bring my son with me because my other half was working, thinking nothing of it , when I got there the girls in front where very nice, but TOLD ME MY CHILD CAN NOT SET WITH ME while my services is getting done rules of this spa. Well I am very sorry your business will never get my money or any other people I know will NEVER come back, worst thing is your NAIL tech has now lost money cause the client was not there plus no tip. The receptionist should of said something when I called to book. My salon allows kids in the salon where you are getting your services done. read more
