We got two pedicures and an acrylic fill. Had a newborn in tow and she even helped with her! Very appreciative! They have drinks available which is always great but seemed to be weary of newcomers. Once conversation flowed we felt more at home! My pedicure was standard but was jealous of my partner who was done by Tina as his seemed top tier. Got a design and my male nail tech was very thorough! I have frequented this establishment at least 4 or 5 times. Each time the price of the service has varied immensely. Today I was charged over $340 without tip for 2 pedicures, 1 fill, and 1 full set. I have never in the many years, multitude of states or countries I've resided in paid this much for nails. I am so very disappointed- to the point that I feel robbed. I was charged $20 for ombré, however the technician only used one color for the fill. I was charged $5 for the shape, but the shape didn't change...I just received the normal filing that should come with the service. I was charged an additional $5 for long nails and they are mid-length. There were a few more questionable charges. The staff is extremely kind, so I don't want to take that away from their services. However, the fees are absurd and the fact that it changes (increases) for the same services each visit makes me question the owner's ethics. Although our manicures and pedicures were great, we also go there for the entire vibe which they are missing. My friend and I left after 10 min into our pedi, they were cutting and digging at our nails claiming we had ingrown toe nails, we did not, and after telling them they are being too rough, they didn't seem to care. I used to love this place. They have new owners now and it has gone downhill. I had a 3:30 appt. Waited until 4:10. And then left. When the girl at the front asked me if i was leaving, i said yes I've been here 40 minutes. Her response was "wow. Long wait." Apparently appointments are pointless because they saw 1 person that came in well after me. There paper towel dispenser wasn't working in the bathroom either and the bathroom needed some attention. I had my nails done and it took him 2 hours. He was extremely rude and told me I couldn't relax. He kept shaking my hands and saying " excuse me" to look at him. He was getting upset. I've been doing my nails for many years and never had anyone say anything to me like this. I got chrome, but they didn't have the first color. I had to choose another, which wasn't what I picked. He said to me at the end that he couldn't get to the sides of my nails because my fingers would not bend. I paid way too much money for the job that he did. The dip didn't go down on each side of my nails. I asked to keep them long, and they are way too long. I was afraid to say anything about them because of how long it took and he was not doing a good job! I did use Tina for my toes and she's great! You can tell she's friendly and likes to service her customers. I'm going back to my original salon for my nails. I'll still come to Tina but never for my nails. He also had a messy nail case he was working from which I worried that he used dirty tools. I had hoped to start using this place because it's closer to my home. The salon is in need of a deep clean. Some of their employees stare and don't say anything to you. They are very expensive for any type of service so I will checking other salons too. read more

I had a few harvest friends say the new prices are great and I should give this place another go So I did It was okay! I used to go to majestic nails in colleyville but it's so far away I have been trying to make the two nail salons in the neighborhood work, but I just don't think it's going to happen. After being at one great place for 10 years it's just hard to find another. My experience was the same as it was with the previous owner. This time they did try to charge me five dollars for "long nails" but when I asked if my nails were long, they said no, and it took away the charge. It also doesn't make sense that my dip Nails were just as much as getting my toes done when I did the bare minimum with my toes overall, the price was good, but the math was not nothing. My nails were obviously supposed to be more expensive and yet they were just as expensive as my toes again I barely did anything of my toes but get them cleaned. read more

I have been here twice and have nothing good to say. The first time I had a simple manicure- and all the nails on one hand were cut short and the nails on other hand were left long. I asked to nail tech why she cut all of my nails on one hand so short. "Oh I thought they should match the broken one!" No- I told her to leave the short one alone. So- O had two completely differnet hands- choosing once again grow out the short nails. My second experience was a pedicure. She was asked to shorten my nails. She left two nails long( forgot) and started putting creme on my legs. She forgot to scrub the callouses on the bottom of my feet and had to go back! When I mentioned this- I was told I was distracted and did not see her. NO- since I have to hold my leg up for them- I clearly was not distracted! She also could not do french on my toes or design. Someone else had too come and do that. Thankfully she was able to correct the nail length. The designs were nice- however- she told me they were mirror images. One went sideways and the other up and down. They clearly do not match. On top of all of this- it is loud and not relaxing at all. Never going back!! read more

I went into La Vie nails after they switched ownership and I am extremely dissatisfied & utterly disappointed. When I went in, I was very specific about what I wanted. (I get a dip manicure with tips added on) every single time I go. I noticed right away that they aren't as warm and friendly as the previous owners were. When it came time to trim the lengths of my nails, I told the lady I wanted them longer. She said if she goes any longer it wouldn't look good with the shape I want (almond) so she refused to cut them longer, she cut them so short that it looked like I had claws. I asked her to remove them and make them longer, like I originally asked for. She huffed & puffed but eventually cut them to the length that I want. I assume that because of this extra work she then had an attitude, she cut my cuticles multiple times & didn't notice or apologize. the color I picked was a red dip powder, I left with my whole fingertips RED! She didn't even bother cleaning my cuticle area, my cuticles looked absolutely horrendous. Nor did she apply any cuticle oil to it. When it was time to put the top coat on, usually I have a gel top coat and I sit under the lamp for about a minute. Instead of this, she just put a regular top coat on it! Not only that, but when I was halfway through my appointment a woman (who I didn't even know worked there) came up to me and asked how I wanted to pay? IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SERVICE! I was absolutely baffled and taken back by that. I wasn't at a time in my manicure where I could grab my card either, and she obviously knew that. Then she asked how much I wanted to tip, as the lady was doing my nails. It was a really weird and unprofessional encounter. When I finally received my bill, I was charged for nail tips (which was fine) then she proceeded to charge me an EXTRA LONG NAIL FEE (?) as you can clearly see in the photo, these are not extra long. then she charged a shaping fee, as well as a bunch of other additional charges that didn't even make sense. The total for my nails was $85!!! Outrageous. I have gone to La Vie nails for over 2 years now and I have never EVER paid that much for a simple set. And for the cherry on top, my nails have never looked worse. This is actually the worst set I have ever gotten. 2 days after I got them done, one broke. Then they all started breaking in half, right at my real nail implying that the nail is weak. Also, the top coat they put on is just wretched! It's peeling off like a sticker and looks absolutely atrocious. These nails look $5 NOT $85, I've had press ons look and last longer than these! I am so sad, because I love this salon. However I will NEVER return here. I would never recommend this nail salon to anyone POST new owners. read more

I thought about writing a review for this place a couple times but I feel like I need to because this has been my honest experience coming here for the past two years. This was one of the only salons here before Infinity Salon opened not so long ago. Thank goodness because now there is competition and businesses are more likely to want put in work to up their quality of service, etc.. My experience in the last 2 years has been so up and down. I would get great service from the same person and the next time I would come back to the same person and It would be the complete opposite -rushed, thick, glue, hot mess underneath my nails. One time I asked for my dipped nails to be thinner I was literally told no! So after that incident I just stopped getting dipped nails and stuck to gel nails instead. Well, this last time I went in to get a French gel mani and it was by far the worse experience I have ever gotten in my life. All for just coming in to get my nails done.. Are you kidding me??? I literally thought I was just going to get my nails done and spend the rest of the day with my family but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I sat down and had to wait awhile which I was fine with- it was a busy day. Anyway, she, my nail tech, walks over with the most sour face started talking to the other nail tech, walks away while mumbling a greeting to me which I barely heard. So I was like okay. She came back and asked me what I wanted I told her French gel manicure. She puts on the solution to remove my old polish and walks way. Then comes back and asked me what I wanted again which I repeated myself again. Then she starts taking off my polish and said that one of my nails is short and French nails wouldn't look good and I should just do one color. I told her I know it's short but I still wanted to do French nails. She frowned at me and continued filling my nails. The whole time she's talking smack about her co-workers to the nail tech beside her. This made me very uncomfortable on top of her attitude and and cold demeanor towards me. FYI I speak their language but she didn't know that. She also told one of the girls that walked by that I was crazy. Yup.. I think because I didn't cave in and went with the single gel color. I was even more uncomfortable at this point. So halfway through the service I place my hand under the UV light machine thinking it was time to but it wasn't so I pull it out really quickly. It was literally in there for one second. OMG! This lady seriously scolded me. She literally raised her voice and yelled at me like a child!! Then she continued to shamed me that I should have gotten a single color gel nail instead of French nails or do dip nails. I was so holding back from getting up and leaving at this stage but I didn't want to make a scene. I have never ever been treated so rude and in such a disrespectful manor at any nail salon. It was such a bad vibe from beginning and progressively got worse. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I continued to come back to this salon in the past two years although getting average nail service because I understand that sometimes staff can improve skill level. But a lot of the time you can't change personality. Especially to my horror after some digging I found out that this person that did my nails is Cindy. So basically it was the owner! There you go! I used to really love coming to this nail salon because they've always done an amazing job. However, over the past few years I've noticed a decline in customer service. The manager or the lady who runs the desk barely smiles and seems like she's miserable working there. I recently had my nails done and the quality of the nails are just not the best. They're either warped or they break off too easily. There should be no rough surfaces and it should be smoothed out with the tools they use. I've also had my nails break off extremely easy as well. Worst French manicure I have ever had. Sophia started over 3 times on 4 of my nails ... I was at the salon for a very long time. Not sure if it was old polish or her technique. Manicure only lasted 3 days and when I called, the manager would not even give me a complimentary polish change. I have been going to LaVie in Northlake/Argyle area for a few years now and I will not be back. Don't go here unless you want to get cut and an infection. I literally told the guy who did my toes not to touch my big toes. I was trying to relax and watch TV and all of a sudden he goes to town on my big toe and RIPS THE NAIL AND SKIN UP THE SIDE OF MY TOE. at first it didn't seem that bad. My mother came in to get a pedicure and nail tips on, They did the most horrible job so I called and talked to Lina - the most rude supposedly the manager and yes she is the rudest. I called and she said oh your mother did not speak English - my mother is white and speaks very good English as that is her first language. If you want to be treated horribly go speak to Lina she will treat you as such. They told her that they could not do the tips for her but LINA says that is not true but again that I am sure that's a lie since that seems to be her character. Very poor customer service and both times I have been there they nickel and dimed me ... they charged me for hidden items without notifying me and just assumed telling me the total would not have me questioning how it became so expensive. When I really asked them to detail and itemize how they arrived at the claimed amount I found out they added additional 10 dollar charge to shape me nails ( round / natural shape) which is egregiously absurd considering that is part of getting a manicure . They just tacked on multiple smaller charged which added up to an additional 25 dollars. The lady at the front was completely rude about it. They will not be getting my business and someone needs to school the girl at the front on customer service and how to have a good attitude and command the message better.
