I've had home cooking from friends from Africa, but this is something quite different. I'd want to say it's more like African food with a French spin on it. The people were very nice and they all spoke enough English that if I got lost, I could switch to English. They also have an English menu, if you have trouble understanding their French one. I ordered the following for my Mom and myself: 1. Amuse-Bouches, 2. Salade croquante de mangue verte et crevettes, 3. Bacalhau fresco com pree de mandioca molho de maracuja e pimenta rosa 4. Bobo de camarao Dessert was: 1. Mousse de maracuja 2. Manjar I admit, I saw the bobo de camarao on Yelp and had to try it. I thought it was quite good. I think the lemon flavor in the Bacalhau fresco might have been a bit too strong a flavor for my Mom to enjoy fully, but she still liked the experience. I personally liked both the amuse-bouches and salade croquante, so I'd recommend trying those out when you're here. As for the dessert, we tried what the staff was eating at the bar between helping clients: the mousse de maracuja and one additional. But I think I really liked the mousse and how it was sweet and tart! I'd definitely suggest checking this place out if you're looking for a more upscale version of French fusion. I'm not familiar with this type of food as much (only had home cooking from friends), but Africa is a big place and Niébé was still a great experience!

The first thing I did was walk from Opera area to No Glu for lunch/goodies. It is tucked away on a busy side street, very unassuming. The place is not big, I would not go here with a large group. I was fortunate someone left as I was walking in. The pastries are in the front window, with no covers on them when you walk in the door. There is a small cash register you order at and you can pay later if you sit and eat. I ordered the baguette with ham and elemental cheese-wow! It has been so long since I have had anything like that, 16 years or so to be exact, how is not American bakery able to make this? I ended up eating the entire baguette even thought I wanted to save some. It came with a small side salad, I also ordered a matcha with no sweetner, it was fine-nothing to write home about. For my next few days at the office, knowing I would not make it back, I got the pistachio roll, an apple turnover thing and some other apple pastry, all were delicious! They look burnt but do not taste burnt. I hope I get to make another trip back for work, this will be one of my first stops and I will certainly buy more.

The place is quite small, located in a nice walkable neighborhood within close distance to the Eiffel Tower, they offered French and English menus and I got to look at both and saw that the prices were the same so that was nice! I got a fish of the day (which was salmon for that evening) along with homemade ratatouille and my husband got the grilled sirloin steak. With every order comes with a basket of bread and butter (which I completely OBLITERATED) and I think the server dropped off two more baskets after the initial one. In my defense, I was very hungry after an extremely long day of travel. As for the wines I got myself the Argentine whereas my husband got himself a St Nicolas De Bourgueil, both paired well with out respective dishes. The portions of the food were great, the salmon was a bit bland for my liking but they did have salt and pepper on the table ready for use so I added those and paired with the ratatouille made for a tasty dish. My husband was happy with his steak, but also wished it was a bit more seasoned (American tastebuds and all). Overall, the service, food, portion, and prices were great and I definitely recommend this place for a nice little cozy dinner in Paris!

Note: I was in a hurry when I ate there; next time, I would order a rush meal to go. Food: I ordered their lunch special, which included a bowl (salad, avocado, baby corn, a delicious garlicky creamy sauce, and other goodies) and a dessert. The bowl was flavorful, fresh, and had that delicious garlicky aoli/sauce. The dessert is what makes this worth going 10 times over! Recommend the orange blossom/berry pie and the bûche. Most desserts are gluten free and all were vegan! Service: Nice staff. Not always attentive. Again, I was in a hurry. Ambiance: Not too big. A handful of smaller tables. Location is close to a nice part of town for shopping! I'd return for a healthy meal so that I could go crazy with those desserts!

The double chocolate torte and the matcha latte were the perfect finisher to the entire experience. Honestly? Everything was top notch. This was one of the best brunches I have had in a while and the service was amazing. The man who helped us explained everything and it helped that they had an English menu to accompany their French one. Will be back to Paris and will definitely be back for brunch. Well done!
