I am a big fan of La Ventana's hot chocolate. As you can see by one of the photos I posted, the hot chocolate is so thick, the churros stand on their own. LOVE that. I also loved that the drink was a lighter chocolate drink. It wasn't quite milk chocolate, but not seriously dark either. If you like the darker chocolate style, check out Granja Viader (but beware loads of tourists!).
Our waitress was friendly and we were able to figure things out (sometimes my Spanish is good enough!).
While this was a nice (quiet) place in the Gothic Quarter, fresh churros are not their specialty. However, La Ventana appears to be a decent place to check out for a quick drink or light meals (maybe tapas even?). It's worth checking out. It's probably a 3-star place, but the friendly waitress and ridiculously decadent hot chocolate earn it the 4th star, IMHO. read more
