Free parking if you can get a spot always a plus. Small place w fast friendly service! Taco Tuesday specials 1.50 can't beat it. Tacos are served as ordered without the over bearing garnish however there is a small salad bar to add garnishes as you desire. A good place for a quick affordable dinner with quality ingredients! I peaked into the kitchen everything is made fresh to order. We will probably be back!

I found this little cool hole in the wall while jogging back home. While it may have been a regular "fonda" a few years prior, it is now gentrified with a turf/ flower wall for "the gram". It still retains the cafeteria counter seating , and also has regular tables. Since I was coming from working out, I just sat at the bar but had water. The dishes are your regular tex-mex classics with sizeable & well-seasoned portions, starting with the crispy chips. Both the red & green salsas that came with them were nicely hot. In addition to red refried beans, cups of pico, sour cream and rice, the chicken fajitas were equally flavorful no doubt enhanced with celery, generous helping of tomatoes and green peppers. They also make a nice cafecito. Definitely worth the find!

I only came here because when I went to the Miami River Mexican cuisine store they were closed due to some kitchen issues. The guy came out and sent me over here instead. My daughter and I ordered the chips and guacamole. The guacamole was actually more tasty than at the other store. The one other time I'd gone there the guacamole was bland. The order is pretty big. It's a lot of guac. We took home leftovers of the guac. I also ordered the Elote. It was very good, except one side was warm and the other side was cold. But the combination of flavors- the lime juice, cheese, cream, and Anjito was delish! For our meals I got the 3 fish tacos on corn tortillas and my daughter got the 3 shrimp tacos on flour tortillas. We both finished all of our tacos. Mine were delicious! I'm not sure what the sauce on the side is. It tasted like a mix of ketchup and mayo?!? But they also put two salsas on the table. The green one is SPICY! The red one is mild. Altogether our meals were about $45. Not bad. Parking is an issue. I didn't see a parking lot. There are spots right in front of the store. But only a couple. Since we were going there at 3 in the afternoon it was easy for us to get a spot. We were the only people eating in the restaurant. There were a few people who came in to pick up orders. I would come back again if I'm in the area, but this place is pretty far away from where I live.

This small spot is authentically decorated, I would pass on drinks as none of us are happy with our choices. The food was ok, nice presentation.

    Interior

One night, during my visit to Miami, I was craving tacos and I stumbled upon this gem. This spot is on the smaller side but it's clean and cute inside. I could see it getting packed on weekends because the food was delicious! The waitress was friendly and quick getting our order in. I appreciated that our food came out hot and fresh. The tripa was crunchy and overall, the tacos had good portions of protein in them.

    Menu

We went here between January 27 & February 6/2026. La Potranca has five Florida locations, but this cantina does not feel like a chain. Authentic sabor Mexicano with an excellent friendly staff. Family friendly & handi-able accesible from the parking lot. This location gets full by 7pm but there is extended service & seating in the common covered courtyard. Plenty of parking in this strip mall location. Service is excellent, fast, & great choices of tacos & drinks. You can choose from 14 different meats/cuts for your tacos, including birria & al pastor. Bow to the taco! Also gringas, vampiros, & burritos. They have bowls (they're BIG) & brunch. p.s. try the churros with 3 dipping sauces. Drinks are extra special here. The clamato & beer cocktail is very unique. Served in a Tajin rimmed large mug, with lime & a tamarind wrapped straw. Excellante! Also a variety of margaritas served in whimsical glasses & their three house cervazas (beers) on draft. La Potranca pays homage to iconic singer & actor Vincente Fernandez "King of Ranchera". Check out the interesting connection with the staff or online. The staff here is excellent. Very helpful when navigating the menu. Very friendly. True professionals. Special shout out to Mauricio & Ralphael - you hombres make this place truly special. Mucho Gracias. We give La Potranca our highest recommendation. The hardest part about dining here was deciding what I wanted to order. I could have ordered the entire menu it looked so good! Helpful tip... check out the menu and know what you're going to order before you get in line. Otherwise you're going to be pressured to order at the front of the line. When you walk in, you place your order and pay for it and take a table number. You need to find your own table. Our service was pretty quick, despite how busy the restaurant was. My cold brew was very good and a nice start to the meal. Our guacamole came next and it was nicely styled with pomegranate, cheese and cilantro on top. Yum! The real star of the show for me was this unassuming looking House Club Sandwich that was to die for. Seriously ... it was so good. I ordered mine without the ham, and it was divine! I wish i lived closer. I'm already dreaming of coming back. My son ordered some kind of short rib/beef burrito and it disappeared so quickly I didn't even get to snap a photo. This is a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal, I highly recommend it. One thing I can say is that it's on the pricey side. $113 lunch for 2 added up super fast but it was well worth it. I'll be dreaming of that sandwich til my next visit!

I ordered the mahi mahi tacos, and while they tasted ok, the portion size felt pretty small for the price. Overall, it came across as a bit overpriced for what you get. The service style is more casual and self-directed. You order and pay at the register, get a number, and then find your own seat while they bring the food out to you. Water is self-serve, and once you're done with your meal, you just head out. There's minimal interaction with staff, which might appeal to people who prefer a more low-key, independent dining experience or want a place to sit and work without being interrupted. That said, the service did not feel very friendly or welcoming. And personally, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Our server started by bringing us complementary perfectly crispy chips and both green and red salsa. The red one, my favorite, was nicely spicy. The cochinita pibil order, garnished with pickled red onions, came out first as well as a delicious queso fundído I got to sample. My order was a very generous plate of chicken fajitas, with red refried beans and grilled veggies. Amplified by the salsa & pico, it was well flavored and sizeable enough that it can be had for takeout. As far as something, sweet, I had their batido de trigo (puffed wheat shake). It was refreshing and not excessively sweet. I definitely recommend this place!

Having stayed till closing of two music week events the prior to evenings, this was in my mind a great recovery meal. Despite the name, this restaurant is not just Mexican, but actually fusion with Uruguayan cuisine. The main courses focused on that area, and the tacos had a lot of exotica such as ear and tongue. Given my preferences, and my stomach, the only basic options that I would get were there Al Pastor and chicken tacos, five dollars each. The menu said that they had alcohol, but apparently not on that week, supposedly for some bureaucratic issue. The tacos were served with just the tortilla and the meat, along with a basket of fixings, such as cilantro and line. No complaints of the food really, the tacos were actually well seasoned and for my taste buds made even better with the hot sauce that left a yummy after burn.
