Pollo ceibeno

Hands down best spot for your pollo ceibeno! Love the sauce they use as a dressing and the tostones are always just the right cook. Not too hard not too soft but just right! I love their icees as well. Definitely authentic Honduran cuisine. They will not disappoint! Not to mention their coffee is splendid!

I actually had the food truck. It was located on 32nd Ave and 41st St. The food was fresh and really tasty. I had the Pollo frito(fried chicken) The chicken was seasoned to perfection but everything else on the plate was blahhhh.... I do think the prices are a bit much as well.

Authentic Honduran cuisine... close to the hospital and the courthouse. The food is the best Honduran from a restaurant I've had in a while.

Fiancé and I were around the Jackson/UM Hospital district and we came across Chicken House. I ordered the Honduran breakfast that came with a grilled steak, eggs any style, avocado, cheese, sweet plantains, and beans. Fiancé ordered the Friday special- Steak & Onions. We also ordered the baleada sencilla. Portions were big and everything was delicious!

I wanted to try out something else from the usual restaurants and cafeteria and figured I would give them a try. I did take-out so I did not get the full experience in the restaurant. Inside is not a fancy decorated restaurant and gives me more of a lunch spot vibe than anything. The girl who took our order spoke English so that was a plus. I ordered the spicy sauce shrimp which I was hoping would be spicier with rice, tostones and maduros. There was onion in the rice which was a bit strange and the tostones were more like chips and the usual ones that I would expect. I'll come back once in a while to try other options. I only gave them one less star because I got a .99 service fee and I was hoping they would explain their rationale than sneak it in.

The food is beyond average. The skirt steak is cut so thin, that it dried out when it was cooked. The beans taste like the bottom of a pot and the serving of rice is less palm sized. The steak came with no sauce and the plantains are chewy and have no salt. For a mom and pop place, I would expect freshness but this is not what was served to me at all.

We ordered takeout with my dad because we were craving a taste from home. Great and delicious Honduran spot near the Jackson/UM/VA area. As a Honduran myself, I will be coming back because the food felt homemade, portions were large (enough to share), and they had good service. The desayuno (breakfast), was just what I was craving. The refried beans were tasty and so was the cuajada (soft cheese). The fried eggs were a little overdone, but I didn't mind. Las tajadas con carne molida was a portion big enough for three people (we couldn't finish it). The meat was well seasoned, the sauce was perfect, and they followed my instructions on the tajadas. This spot gets five stars from me and I highly recommend for anyone looking to try good Honduran food.

This is a must try Honduran restaurant. Super cheap and servings are huge. So far, everything I have ordered I have liked.

A bit small but so good. The waiting and everything is just good and the food was to die for, for being cheap!

I have heard so much around this place and I can confidently say it lives up to the hype!…read more Finding parking nearby is a bit tricky as it is only street parking and there's only outside dining available. The music selection is fire though and I was jamming out the whole time while waiting for my food. I complimented them on the music selection and they mentioned the owner is dominican and puerto rican which explained the great music selection. I was helped out by Adrian and his service was helpful in finding what dishes to order. I took my food to go and it was piping hot, definitely made fresh to order which I enjoyed. The nachos were what I was most eager to try as they are all the rage on social media. They lived up to the hype and that nacho cheese is absolute gold. I love that it's served in a pizza box. It just makes it iconic. It travels well and everything was still hot when I got home. The Al Pastor taco was just okay, nothing to write home about but now the steak burrito was really really good. I love that they don't have rice in their burritos and instead replace it with potatoes, which is absolutely delicious. They give two different types of salsas with your order plus limes and the green salsa is unreal. Add it to everything for a flavor boost! All in all this place is fire and if you're craving nachos, this is definitely the place you should come to get your fix!

We are very disappointed that the chicken and steak burritos were not seasoned very well (bland) and both were so dry. I couldn't even taste any cheese in the chicken burrito either. I took a few bites and had to give the rest to our dogs. What a shame. My daughter couldn't finish her burrito either. I tasted her steak burrito and it didn't taste like any steak that I have ever tried. So disappointing. The guac and chips were good but they were like a little side dish. So, there went a wasted $50 for lunch. We were still hungry. Since it was a to-go order, we didn't feel like going back all that way again. It was a very hot day. Service was strange. I sat in the car but my daughter went up to the counter to pick up our order. She stood there for a long time in the hot sun and no one helped her. There was a bag sitting on the counter already. Finally when she was helped, the guy said that the bag sitting there was ours!! She was highly irritated fir the poor service. He should have checked to see if his customer was there to pick up the only bag on the counter. In retrospect, we should have tasted our burritos before driving home to taste them but we trusted them. Sorry to say, we won't be going back.

My dinner plans changed last minute due to the weather, which was heavily raining and decided on Lolita despite not having reservations. Upon arrival we were instructed to go upstairs where the very young and inexperienced host could not figure out the system and said sorry there was no availability to accommodate us. We left disappointed and while going downstairs I decided to pull uo their booking site to confirm availability. The system reflected several available time slots for dinner. Kudos to the downstairs host that accommodated us immediately once I showed her the system reflected availability. The servers were truly incredible downstairs and I appreciate the very attentive and charming service provided throughout the evening! I ordered a beet salad which was almost perfect but was lacking feta or goat cheese which I highly recommend they consider having in the kitchen. The oxtails tacos were delicious and very filing. I also enjoyed the brown dessert. Thank you for a yummy evening with fantastic service!
