In truth, I wanted this restaurant to be more than it is. It had so much potential. From the kind and friendly wait staff who spoke English almost impeccably to the warm ambience and the incredibly beautiful view of Gran Via's sparkling nightlife, this establishment exuded potential. However, in food and presentation I found it lacking.
The theme of the entire evening was over-saturation. My wife and I ordered two pasta dishes, one with a type of spicy meat sauce and the other a light airy pasta. Both dishes, while tasty, were drowning in their sauces and each exceptionally greasy. It's the type of meal where one walks away feeling the meal both in their pores and stomach for hours after.
The theme of over-saturation continues. Later we ordered dessert, the cheesecake and deconstructed apple pie. The cheesecake was completely soaked not drizzled with berry topping, which completely overpowered the entire dessert. Furthermore, the crust to cake ratio was not well balanced. The deconstructed apple pie was good but had turned to soup when it arrived at our table. I'm unsure if it sat too long before delivery or if it comes this was. Additionally, and unintentionally I'm sure, there was so sort of chocolate sauce that coated the underside of the plate, which got not only all over the table but on our hands and the waitresses hands as well.
Overall, I will probably not return due to the culinary experience of the night. Like I said, the restaurant has a beautiful facade, but if you're looking for more than aesthetics, you might find it lacking. read more
