Taverna Parione is one of the best places I have ate in Rome on my 4 day visit, most of the stuff here tasted fresh, the staff are great and it is good here too for gluten free.
Gluten free products include pizza, pasta and baguettes, unfortunately as they didn't have any GF Baguettes, I opted for a pizza. Be prepared to pay more for gluten free, my pizza should of cost 7 euros but gluten free was 3 euros more, baguettes are 3.50 euros more and pasta is 2 euros more (but don't hold me to that!)
My server seemed very nice, he spoke good english and we chatted about how the gluten free is made, and him being able to speak and learn many different languages.
I was told that he keeps a close eye on the gluten free, as this helps to make a better pizza as well as some other helpful tips.
My pizza was very nice, the base was crispy, but not too crispy of course, and the toppings also tasted quite nice. The tomato topping was probably one of the best I have had, even before my non gluten free days.
They also do freshly squeezed orange juice here, which you can tell is fresh and is also served in a big glass, and is a good portion.
The food here is nice, and it doesn't taste bottled (my drink) or frozen (my pizza) and they is free wifi here too, with the details on the menu, the password is pretty long!!!
This is a nice store, both inside and out, compared to most I have seen in Rome, even with an italian flag inside and with photos of famous people who have ate at the resturaunt in the past.
The pricing is quite good, as I mentioned compared to other places in the area, and their gluten free menu even consisting of Tirimishu, really was good to find, having been struggling to find gluten free in Roma, for something other than pasta!
This place isn't perfect, and these are the reasons I am not giving 5 stars:
- I would like to see gluten free the same price as regular pizzas
- Gluten free labeled on the menu, so it is easier to know what you can have with your dish
- Baguettes being in stock all the time, as I would of opted for them, had them be available.
- The location could be better, as it is easy to walk past. They is no one on the door to greet you and pull you in, this is a good thing in a way as you don't get bothered and annoyed by staff pointing to a table straight away, but bad as it makes it easy to miss and the resturaunt seemed to be quite empty on my visit.
- More gluten free "snack" foods
- I want to try out this restaurant more to give 5 stars, to check if all staff are as good as my server today, and the food is consistent. read more
