    Carne asada

This was a word of mouth find. We are traveling, so we asked a local and was it advice that was worth its weight in gold! Food was amazing and decently price I had the ceviche and carne asada.

Still pretty new and the staff is working on the waiting tables bit. The restaurant was clean and not crowded. Drinks were over to the table quickly. Then no one came back for the food order. Eventually we did get the order in and the tacos were good, the Mexican street corn was bland. We will be back just give then more time to get things running smoother. We ordered dessert, the first two choices were out of stock on a Saturday at 5 PM. Bonus my Margherita was not on the bill, but they did add it when pointed out.

The food is not excellent but they do have some good ideas. Has a lot to do with quality of ingredients I'm sure. I'd return for the tasty guacamole and some drinks no doubt. My mom enjoyed the sweet potato taco because sweet potato is always good, other than that she says it was bland. My sister said her roasted red pepper tofu bowl was good. I felt it was rather basic in flavor. The queso fresco is basically nacho cheese you'd get from a snack stand at a sports game. The carnitas meat in my taco was so dry, avacado taco was okay (might try again), and the bean taco could use a better cheese to beans ratio. Seemed like less than a pinch of cheese on there, added left over pico and the "queso fresco" for some flavor. Cute restaurant, lovely concept, needs a few tweaks but I'd go back again. If the culinary students from the college are the ones in the back cooking they could use a bit more time studying.. staff is nice, not sure anyone trained them in service or hospitality. Really sweet though. Hope this place gets a revival and really launches:) we need more Mexican food around.

Here's the shotgun review: - Located right on Main Street, so parking can be iffy - Outdoor seating options, either in the sun or in the shade - Family owned & operated, very kind staff - Tasty food that hit the spot after a long day of riding motorcycles - Drinks served in hilarious vessels* - Delicious house made hot sauce** *Mine came in a gas container & my partner's came in a big clear barrel type thing. We laughed out loud! It was a fun little gimmick. Also the horchata was delicious. **We were given two sauces with our food, a mild verde & a hot sauce. We were warned that it was spicy. We found the hot sauce to be well-balanced & really decadent. The next day, we were planning on cooking at home but needed a spicy element for a sauce WE were making. So I had an idea. I rode down to Cowboy's & asked them if I could buy some of their hot sauce. They wanted to triple check with me that I meant the spicy one (yes, the spicy one!) & then presented me with an 8 oz container of their delicious sauce for just $5! I was really pleased with the whole interaction & of course with the sauce. Our sauce at home turned out so, so good with the Cowboy's addition, too. I highly recommend stopping here for hot sauce instead of the grocery store!

The ingredients were fresh and flavorful though I would have preferred black beans to refried beans. The vibe was cool, staff friendly and price good for the value.

Started with the table-made guacamole - excellent. Chose three mains, and all were exceptional. I can't believe one of the reviewers here found everything lacking in flavor and authenticity. Mains includes Enchiladas (beef, chicken, veggie - great accompaniments), Mole' Chicken (1/2-chicken slathered with delicious mole') and the Beef Molcajete - beef strips, chorizo, queso fresco, cactus, & scallions in salsa, served in an authentic stone mortar. The molcajete is a true dining experience. Overall - can't wait to go back in the Spring.

So no need to worry about getting wet under a cheap patio umbrella! And plenty parking. The food: is authentic and yummy delicious! I ordered the tamales, empanadas, and enchiladas de mole. The food is like eating at my Mexican grandma's table. I have not experienced this specially so remote from the big city. What a gem hidden in this tiny farm. For dessert I had the churros which where covered with sprinkled sugar and cinnamon and stuffed with amazing yummy caramel goodness. Served with ice cream and raspberry sauce. Absolutely incredible!! I drove 8 hrs to be here and they did not disappoint. This place is totally under rated. The problem is not many people who come here know about yelp. Although it seems to be really popular with the locals, they are typically older farm folks and families. I wish they got more reviews. The owners are a cute couple who work the restaurant and their kids work here too. Absolutely amazing 10 out of 10!!!

Service throughout the meal was painfully slow. There were only two waitresses working the entire restaurant, including an outdoor patio area. They were doing their absolute best, but it was just too much for two people. One of the waitresses didn't seem too familiar with the table identification system. Whenever a dish came out from the kitchen, she'd ask several different tables if the dish was what they ordered, seemingly having no idea which food belonged to which party. This was pretty bizarre and inefficient. They apparently forgot about our order. We ordered nachos as an appetizer, but they didn't come out until after our entrees arrived so we didn't end up keeping them. They did provide complimentary chips and black bean dip, so we at least had something to munch on during the long wait. We saw several tables that received no service at all, and folks had to get up to ask for their check and pay, because the waitresses were just too busy to stop by the tables. For an entree, I had the veggie tacos. The veggies included squash, zucchini, and onions. An order came with three tacos, as well as red and green salsa, black bean dip, and rice. The rice was mushy and the black bean dip wasn't super flavorful. The tacos were okay, but made better by a dousing of habanero hot sauce. My husband also got a horchata beverage and enjoyed it. I felt bad for the waitresses, as there was only so much they could do. In addition to serving, they bussed the tables, prepared the drinks, and served as hostesses. The food could've been better, but the service really tanked the experience.

My son had a burger and fries but it wasn't so great but I guess thats what you expect at a mexican place; its what he wanted. I had the shrimp fajitas and I loved the overall meal and taste but I was a little disappointed it only had 5 shrimp; 6 wouldve been better, 7 would've great for 20 bucks. In any case, again there are very limited options especially at this price point in the area so in all likelihood, i'll be back here when i'm in the area.
