It is what it is, and I think for the most part it's turned out pretty well. Lot's more farm to table, is a return kind of sort of to how it was way back in the day. Folks grew food on their farm and brought their harvest to their own tables. Down the hill in town are fine dining spots that cater more to immigrants. All are welcome, but all aren't necessarily comfortable in the spaces. It isn't a bad thing, as there's still someplace for everyone to go. To me, Stonewall fills the space for everyone. Long-timers feel comfortable here, as I witnessed during my two visits this summer. And they were all turned out and happy for date night and celebration with friends and it all felt authentic and chill. Salads were awesome and the beef is sourced from a farm just down the road. I missed pizza night, but will make sure I don't next time I'm in town. Solid spot on geography that's experienced a number of solid spots. Hope they stick around for awhile. Service was decent but the salad bar was a mess - nothing labeled, bins empty, and nothing like a hot wet plate to put it on. I grabbed some sauces and rubs on my way out and again...front kiosk folks just did not or could not figure out how to communicate. The potato didn't really come with much more than a slice of melted cheese and bacon (would have liked chives or sour cream, or even a noticeable amount of butter), and the onion rings were fairly lackluster. The "seasonal vegetables" that came with the steak were also a very modest portion of... carrots. Just carrots with a sweet glaze. Not necessarily bad carrots (maybe slightly underdone), but I expected... at least one other vegetable. I think some more variety to the veggies (plus just more to eat alongside this monstrous steak) would have made this much more of an enjoyable experience. I definitely walked out that night feeling full, but not truly satisfied. My partner-in-crime and I did finish almost the entire steak, after all.
