One of the best meals I had on my trip to Paris! Our group of five came for the prix fixe lunch for 45 Euros and it was such a great deal for 3 courses of beautifully crafted deliciousness. We were the first group seated and the staff greeted us warmly and without any snoot. The dining room is quite cozy but they make the most of the space. Bonus - the staff speak excellent English so were able to describe the subtleties of our dishes to us. Our food was creatively plated, tasted excellent and had so much going on I can't begin to describe! Highlights were the refreshing citrus in the amuse busche, the tenderness and crispiness of the pork belly, and the many sauces and purees that came with the codfish. The desserts even had a variety of flavors and textures. I also enjoyed my rose - very brut. Best 45 Euros spent! Would return especially for the great value lunch. read more

Didn't actually eat here and I will tell you why. My friend and I made reservations for this place a month ahead because we were traveling from the United States and had our Michelin star restaurants planned out. So we made a reservation, the reservation was then confirmed a week out via email. The day of, we get to the restaurant, and as it turns out, they had cancelled our reservation. They apparently call every single customer the day of to confirm the reservation... again. Sounds a little needy, right? Like most tourists, we did not have service while in France. They could have emailed us to confirm (most tourists have wifi at some point during their travel) but, they chose not to. We were of course very disappointed, not only because they cancelled our reservation and made no effort once so ever to accommodate us but, also because this is such an easy problem to avoid. If you're worried about no-shows, you can require a deposit from your patrons. Confirming a week out, and then confirming again the day of, STILL does not guarantee that they will show up. And another way to avoid this is to simply tell your customers after the FIRST CONFIRMATION, that you will be in touch AGAIN to confirm the morning of, that way we know to expect a phone or can send an email. read more

La Table d'Eugene is an affordable, high quality restaurant in Paris. Located in the 13th arrondissement, it is a little bit of a trek from center of Paris. But worth it. The dishes were very surprising, tasty and flavorful! (Also, in 2016 and 2016, they were awarded one Michelin star). We made reservations for La Table d'Eugene (LTE) for our 4th night in Paris. Prior to LTE, we had a string of bad luck with restaurants, one closing suddenly on a Tuesday, another not answering the phone, then when we hiked there, being overbooked. When we arrived to LTE, we were thankful that they was opening and they had our reservation. We were seated in booth immediately, and offered libations. We both opted for the Chef tasting, 5 course meal with wine tasting. The courses changes with the seasons and based on local ingredient availabilities. Starting course was the amuse bouches of foie gras with oyster leaf, sweet pea sponge with fish, and smoked foam burrata. The foie gras was buttery soft and paired well with the unique oyster leaf. Oyster tastes good with foie gras! Genius! I loved the sweet pea sponge cake! So soft, and sweet savory. The salt really brought out the tender flakey fish flavor. First Course: Heirloom tomatoes, with black olives and herb infused milk sauce. This was amazing. The heirloom tomatoes tasted sun-kissed sweet and the herbs were a beautiful rich green color and paired well with the tomatoes. Second Course: Calamari, cauliflower and black rice cake. This dish looked so different and the calamari was perfectly seasoned, very tender. Surprisingly good for something that looked so odd. Third Course: White fish with carrot and carrot butter calamansi sauce. I loved the bright citrusy taste of the calamansi with the tender buttery carrot. The lemon/lime taste brightened the sweetness of the carrot. But I did not see how the white fish fit in. Fourth Course: Duck breast with daikon and soy and chestnut sauce, and a chestnut ravioli in mushroom soup. That Duck was perfectly cooked. Medium rare, tender rich duck with a bit of soft skin. OMG! So good! The ladies next to us had the same tasting menu and when they ate the duck, I heard a murmur of Mmmmmm going through the table. For me, this duck ranks up there as some of the best duck that I've ever had. But the semi raw daikon stubs with the chestnut sauce seemed unnecessary. The chesnut ravioli was soft, cheesy and delicious. Who knew chestnut could pair well with cheese and mushroom?! Fifth Course: Goat cheese in saffron sauce. This was edible but I didn't really enjoy it. Maybe I don't like saffron with goat cheese. Props to the chef for trying though. Dessert: Fruits with geranium sorbet in a verbena meringue. This was very sweet and very beautiful and most unique. I've never had a geranium sorbet before. And even though it was very sweet, it was very good. Sphere of chocolate. This was amazing! The waiter poured a chocolate sauce ontop of the sphere, melted the sphere and opened the smaller ball of chocolate with crunchy pralines or hazelnuts. LET was a wonderful experience. Ate here for our 1st night in Paris. Our original reservation was for Alain Ducasse but our flight from Geneva was cancelled by BA and rebooked for later flight due to weather issues. So we cancelled our 7pm dinner reservation at Ducasse Restaurant. It was a blessing that we got the reservation for D'Eugene. The restaurant is cozy and intimate. We chose the 8-course meal. We enjoyed the amuse and most of the food. They are seasoned and prepared well, except for 1 dish that we really didn't care for or should I say, I personally felt the chef should change that menu to something else because it was really a bad dish - steamed cod with licorice. Terrible dish. But everything else was well prepared and flavorful. It's a traditional French cuisine with a hint of Asian flare on some of its flavor profile. Playing and presentation was beautiful. Overall, we were not disappointed just a simple recommendation which was to change or offer a different way of cooking or flavor combination with the cod, instead of licorice. Maybe a different citrus profile would have freshen the delicate cod and elevate its flavor. read more

This lives up to everything you've read, and more. We came for lunch, and I had made a reservation a week prior. We were seated at 12:30, and most people showed up for lunch around 1:00 PM. We received outstanding service throughout our meal. Lunch is a great way to experience this Michelin star dining experience at an affordable price. At first, we couldn't understand how the menu was structured, but it's basically you get one item from each of the 4 categories for 42 euros. There's also a slimmer option for 3 courses at 35 euros, or the more extravagant "chef's surprise" at around 100 euros. See pics for the dishes, but overall, they were creative, playful, and exciting. I would definitely do this again, and maybe see how the dinner fares as well. This was my first experience with a fixed menu. We were there for dinner and chose the eight course menu without wine. We did get two glasses of wine a la cart. The food was incredible...really, it's difficult to describe how lovely everything was. If you're hoping for a Michelin Star fixed menu experience I highly recommend La Table d'Eugène. We dropped in last night for a meal as we were staying close by and were lucky to be seated as the place was nearly full. We had the 3 course menu @ Eur 55 per head accompanied by Champagne and wines by the glass. The meal was truly memorable. It started with an Amuse Bouche comprising whipped potato, a beetroot mouthful land a small piece of raw fish. It was divine. Entrees were pickled mackerel and pickled onion which was presented like a work of art and deep fried langoustines. The mains comprised lamb 2 ways and the standout dish of a white fish with calamari accompanied by green asparagus wrapped in Iberico ham. Truly delicious. After a short break came our 2nd Amuse Bouche of mango sorbet with passionfruit sauce (yum) and the desserts which included a chestnut and chocolate dessert and a rhubarb and jelly compote. The menu is in French but our host was happy to explain the menu in English. Truly a wonderful restaurant for locals that's worth going out of the way to get to. I would suggest to make a booking as it does get busy. There are also 5 and 7 course degustation menus but make sure you go with an empty stomach as the 3 course meal was quite filling. read more

All these 5-star reviews? Believe it! We did the 5 course with wine at lunch and it was absolutely superb in every regard. The venue is intimate, elegant and tranquil. You relax as soon as you are seated by the professional, yet very personal staff. Each bite was a classic treasure as one anticipates. Innovative and pleasantly surprising without being too precious. Incredible meal at a reasonable price. I had way too many good dishes in one sitting, but these were the highlights: -Amuse Bouche: fried veal steaks served in green garlic sauce with truffled macarons on the side. If you've never tried savory macarons, now is the perfect time to try new things -Rabbit: stuffed with some kind of vegetable, wrapped in fat and cooked in curry, then served in a rendering of its own jus. This was the surprise of the night - perfectly crispy on the outside, complex flavors all around. I was initially scared to eat the rabbit since I tend to dislike gamey tastes, but the curry takes away the gaminess completely. -Calamari: pan fried, and served with sauteed octopus and cauliflower on a bed of cauliflower purée and black squid ink butter with lemon zest. I also tend to dislike seafood, but wow the sauce was amazing. It probably helps that it was disguised in squid ink, because I wiped the bowl clean with some bread... -Coffee/ice cream dessert: layers of vanilla and coffee ice cream, topped off with chocolate flakes and some kind of grass jelly. Really adorable little thing, looks like a potted plant. Simple, but a great, cool way to end the meal. read more

Considering that a brasserie charges about the same prices in the end (38 EUR) for a meal, I'd rather come here and eat real food, rather than the crap the brasseries are now serving. Just the other day I saw mussels for 20 EUR!!! Here, you can get an appetizer, main course and dessert for 38-43 EUR. You just can't beat that. The ambience in here is also very charming. I am not giving this place 4 stars or more for a few reasons: 1) The service was horribly slow. I have never experienced such slow service in my life. We sat down for a meal and it took 4 hours to finish. 4 HOURS!!!!!! I was practically asleep by the time dessert arrived. 2) The portions are tiny. Yes, it's good food, but I was still hungry afterwards. This is not what I am expecting after forking out 45 EUR (without wine!) 3) The waitresses do not know the products. They tell you in detail that this fruit is so-and-so, from this part of the world, but if you ask them more info on it, something basic they have to go back and ask the chef. They are just repeating what the chefs tell them to say about it, but they haven't learned what the dishes are really composed of which is a disappointment because they don't know the menu. Aside for the cons listed above, I'd rather spend my money here to eat real food than to go to a brasserie. read more

We came to Table d'Eugene expecting a fantastic meal since it is a 1 Michelin star restaurant, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is located about 30 minutes metro ride from the heart of Paris, in a somewhat sketchy looking neighbourhood. We arrived at 7:25pm, 5 minutes before the restaurant opens and they opened right at 7:30pm. We were seated promptly and treated very well as the menu was introduced to us. You have a choice of either the 5 course, or 8 course tasting menu and with or without the wine pairing. We chose the 5 course menu without the wine pairing, and I ordered a glass of red wine to go with the meal. The meal starts with 3 amuse-bouche, followed by an appetizer, 2 fish entrees, a meat entree, a palate cleanser and finished with 2 chocolate desserts. I won't spoil the surprise, but everything was fantastic. Food quality, speed of the meal, and the wait staff. Bread and water was refilled promptly without us having to ask for it. Note the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, and we were the first table seated. read more

Oh my god, this meal was incredible. Call for a reservation - someone had canceled for the night so they were able to fit us in. We did the 55 euro formule of entree-plat-dessert. The entrees were incredible - we had calamari, foie gras, and shrimp. Dinner was a white fish, veal, and a standout dish of pigeon (I am not kidding, it was amazing). Dessert was a heavenly feast of white and milk chocolate. In addition, the formule seems to include a small amuse bouche and bread before the meal starts, a palate cleanser before dessert, and some more small chocolates after dessert. And of course, there was wine. I left feeling incredibly full. Service was great. I speak french well, but not well enough to figure out this menu, but the waitress was more than happy to help out. She also gave us some good recommendations on what meals were best and good wines to accompany. Service was efficient. The meal took a long time because we were savoring the food and enjoying the company. This is a restaurant where the meal is the event - not a place to dash into before going out for the night. Disclaimer: Dinner is not for anyone on a low budget aka me normally. Talked my father into taking me out. However, the lunch formule is set at only 35 euro. Impeccable food that was prepared with great thought given to both taste and presentation. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors chosen and would happily give the chef a full 5-star review. The waitstaff however was negligent of our table for over an hour after our last course while we asked multiple times for the check. This was a huge damper on the meal itself, as it was uncomfortable to wait at the empty table that long without even glasses of water to occupy ourselves. I typically would not rate a restaurant this harshly on this situation, as the small place was definitely busy, but there were several times when various members of the wait staff attended to the table next to us while passing us by. The most distressing part was watching another table who had arrived about 45 minutes after us receive their check first. The meal itself was wonderful, so it was unfortunate to have this terrible experience follow it. For the high price and quality of the food, I had much higher expectations for the services and was sorely disappointed. read more

Maybe it's my level of expectations that backfired, but I expected more from a Michelin starred place. Yes the food was interesting, but only roughly half was very good. Rest was interesting, but not that good. As in - hmm it is interesting to use tasteless beans with amasing slow cooked pork or hmm it is i teresting to have super bitter orange reduction with super nice carrot mousse. So I have this mixed feeling about this place. To be honest I would want to give it 3 stars. Mainly for service and just one wine when the promise is matching food with wine. This place is a hidden gem, we were looking for a nice Michelin star restaurant for a birthday dinner and this place did not disappoint! We did the 5 course meal with wine pairing. This was the best food I have ever tasted, trying things I thought I would never eat and I was blown away. Exquisite is an understatement! Not to forget, the staff was unbelievably friendly and knowledgeable, they even could speak some good English for us! We had our waiter who was awesome and then a wine connoisseur and another food connoisseurship are experts on explaining what they serve you. The cherry on top of the night is that for the 5th course, is actually 3 desserts and they even had a birthday candle for me!!!!! We would definitely come here again and recommend it to anyone who is looking to eat at a slightly more affordable Michelin star restaurant! read more

This place is small. Could be crowded, but we were sitting at the corner by the window. So we were ok. This place is not in the area of tourists. However it was easy access from Metro station. One of the three best dinner I have had in my life. We settled for the 7 courses dinner. My husband with wine pairing, I just a glass of Rosa wine. Everything turned out great, from the beautiful bouche to the ending chocolate ball. We had a taste of everything; lobster, fish, squids, shrimp, pigeon to the desserts. We had more than seven dishes, because the chef sent out at least 3 small bit dishes plus the finishing chocolate bomb. Everything was great and many had flavor that I had not expected but all wonderful. The chef was creative and artful. Each dish was an art both in flavor as well as the presentation, the waiting staff was great. The dinner last almost 4 hours. So even we had so many dishes, we both felt just great after dinner.. It is an expensive place, but not too expensive comparing to all the Michelin stared places in Paris. It is really reasonable comparing with nice places in USA. They just recently received their Michelin one star. Love to go back. read more

This was a wonderful experience. The chef is so creative, things you would never think of blended together to make flavors and textures you cherish each bite. The staff is extremely professional, you would recommend this place with zero hesitation. I am not going to specify our dishes, because the menu changes continuously, it is a choice between a 5 or 8 course tasting menu, we had the 5, and there were several "additions" to the 5 courses. We had dined at another highly rated tasting venue the prior evening and this was so far better. Going to full 5 stars should be reserved for the worlds best, so to me, this is right behind, a very solid 4. read more
