Fresh food and very nice ladies behind the counter. The best Cafe Con Leche. Very low key spot drive too fast and you will miss it.

We eat here and pick up as well. The black bean soup rocks true to the Cuban culture and my husband always orders extra soup to heat up and eat later on. The Cubans are very good so I'm told. They also serve meals that you don't always get at other Spanish restaurants. read more

I tried this place due to the good reviews. I thought the place was nice, staff friendly and ordered quick and easy. However, the food wasn't hot just luke warm. It was tasty but I was comparing it to La Cubanita across the street and I would choose them over this place. Not bad but not the best. read more

Went back with some family who wanted Cuban food. The service was better than my last visit. The food lately has been coming out room temperature so I asked the server to make sure my entree was piping hot. It came lukewarm. I sent it back and it was returned just slightly warmer. I had beef stew which was just ok. Others had the trout and the pork. None of us were impressed, this place isn't like it used to be. read more

Hands down the best yellow rice in the Brandon/Valrico area. Good Cubans and Palomilla steaks, and try the Seventh Avenue Salad, it's a take on the 1805 salad from The Columbia restaurant, and is pretty dang good. My go-to for quality Cuban food, La Septima never disappoints. Give them a try. read more

Amazing authentic Spanish food. Fresh, delicious and very generous portions. The prices are very reasonable and the staff was very nice and accommodates large crowds. Lousy Food and Service. I had dry chicken asked for a salad and it was a ton of lettuce with a 1/4 slice of tomato. i asked for more veggies and they threw some peppers on it. the chicken couldn't have been drier.The fish seemed to be microwaved mushy. I returned everything but fish ( mistake) Waiter was un-attentive and snobbish. The owner came over who the waiter tried to pass off as mrg. she said everyone loves the chicken or something to that effect. Salad she said we don't carry vegetables and she had the nerve to say the waiter was good. Served tap water asked for a bottled and she dropped it on the table with a disgusting attitude, she the owner didnt charge. for returned items and no charge for water. fish was 6 bucks a waste. Went to La Septima (as it was close by to our destination) and was hoping for the usual excellent food and at minimum "some" service. What we got great food, bad service, and luke warm food. Great food for the value, they don't try to do too much with their selection. What they do is quite well. The food is always slow cooked and handled with care. The dinner is so filling we never have dessert. I would recommend because it is a pretty cool casual place to eat and the food and service is outstanding. read more

Surprisingly good food - although I was a little skeptical when we first walked in to the establishment. We both had the walk around la septima which was a sampling of the house favorites. This entree consisted of ropa vieja (flank steak), picadillo and lechon asado (ground beef with olives and orange mojo marinated pork). I enjoyed the steak and ground beef but the pork was extremely dry. I would recommend getting the flank steak dish alone. Portions are very large so come hungry. read more

Nowhere near as good as it used to be when located on Parsons. The food quality has continually gone down as prices steadily increase. The "new" location is a dump. Dark and dingy. Dirty carpet and seating. Too many changes on the staff both front and back of house. Plus the owners are some of the rudest self absorbed people in Brandon. After a couple of hours roaming a nearby nursery, it was time to grab a good bite to eat. The nice woman at Kerby's recommended La Septima, 2 miles down from the nursery. We went with sandwiches: cuban, ropa vieja, and the casino. Meats were full of flavor and slow-cooked to tenderness. Great "hidden gem" in Brandon. Every time we come here, the food is amazing and the staff is great! This time we came in our waitress may have been the best one we've had, regardless of what restaurant. Alicia had multiple tables but treated everyone like friends. My 89 year old mother wanted to have a birthday lunch for several of us and we made reservations for 8. She had been there on. Number of occasions while living in Brandon. This was my first and last. First of all the service was terrible. The owner's said it was because our waitress was new. This is no excuse as I told them. It was a management problem. Next the food quality was very mediocre and dry. I had the opportunity to meet the owner upon arriving and then had the chance to tell her it was terrible experience and should be an embarrassment. She apologized but did nothing else to recover. No refund, no discount. What an awful experience. read more

We read great reviews and on this rainy night, we were looking forward to some Latin food. Very few people in the restaurant probably due to the downpour. The waitress, Gina, was exceptional! Very friendly, honest with her recommendations, and attentive with her service. Couldn't have asked for better. The food came out timely and with good presentation. All of the sides, from the garlic green beans to the mouth watering maduros, were wonderful with flavor! So tasty! However, the main dishes, not so much. My Palomilla steak was ok, but covered in a mound of tasteless onions, not yummy grilled onions I would expect. My husbands arroz con pollo was a dry piece of chicken. He said the rotisserie chicken from the grocery store is just as good. We'll be looking for some different places to check out on our next trip to this area I think. read more

Stopped here for lunch with my parents, kids, sisters and nephew after Christmas shopping. Looked forward to the pork, when we were told they were out due to too many catering orders. ?!??? One week before Christmas and you aren't prepared for people to order pork? Kids menu, completely lacking, but two kids ordered the fish nuggets and French fries (as specified on menu). 40 minutes after placing our lunch order (at 1:30 - after the lunch rush) our food arrived. Kids nuggets, over cooked, arrived with rice topped with peas. Kids not happy. Then replaced with chips. Manager said they didn't offer fries- even though it was on the menu. Food was good. Ropa Vieja on the sweet side. Piccadillo was bland and tasteless. Service slow and manager defensive rather than accommodating. After years of frequenting this place, it will probably be my last. read more

Best & Most Delicious Authentic Spanish/Cuban restaurant in town!! Get the Walk around 7th for a sample of Ropa Vieja, Picadillo and Lechon Asado with black beans and yellow rice! I absolutely Love the Pulled Pork Sandwich for lunch!! They give you a side of homemade chips and mojo for dipping. So yummy!! Their Devil Crab is to die for with real blue crab claw meat inside!! I drive all the way here from Gulfport, FL. I am Cuban and grew up eating Cuban food my whole life. This place is WELL worth the drive! I had Arroz con Pollo and my friend had the Cuban Sandwich.
