When I walked into the restaurant, I had high hopes. After reading the prior reviews I came, with my husband and son, ready to eat some authentic Mexican cuisine. Unfortunately, the meal started off on the wrong foot. The waitress asked me what I wanted to drink, and I asked if they had coffee, knowing that there was a poster on the wall saying that they were distributors of Organo Gold. She looked over to the corner , obviously debating on what to tell me. Her reply was "Oh, no." And that was that. I was a little peeved at that, but I ordered anyway: Chicken Fajitas. It's how I measure all the Mexican Restaurants I go to. The menu is outdated. It doesn't include a kid's menu, though the waitress said they had items for children. There was no menu depicting the dinner selections, and the salsa that was brought to the table had flakes of black ashes. When I received my order, the iron skillet was steaming hot. I rejoiced, believing that my experience would be salvaged after all. However, after tasting my chicken, the happy little balloon inside me deflated. It was so arid and tasteless, like sandpaper rubbing against my tongue and cheeks. I perceived pieces of uncooked rice in the serving, and the tortillas were store-bought. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. I left the restaurant with a hollow in my chest and a sense that I'd wasted both my money and my time. We love this place. We have enjoyed several breakfasts here and everything has been wonderful. The service is very nice, and the seating area is large and open, which I love. I dislike feeling like I'm sitting on top of other patrons. Our food always comes out quickly. Sometimes, a plate will come out early, so someone may have to start eating before the other. But this is how it's done in Mexico, my dear Americans, so deal with it. I lived in Merida for 3 months and it was like that at every restaurant. They feel you should start enjoying your food as soon as it's ready, and I think that's a novel idea. I just picked off my husband's plate until mine arrived. I'm excited to try their lunch menu, at which time I will update my review to include lunch reviews and photos. Definitely try the Migas! To die for! And I prefer the home fries potatoes over the hashbrowns, they're incredible. Perfectly seasoned and soft. And their beans are excellent. Not too salty, but great flavor. I have tried their breakfast tacos,nachos and Enchiladas and it was all great. The flavors are authentic and the service is great. The good is always hot and the presentation of the meal is always well put together. The inside is also very clean, which is important for places you are dining at. At times the communication is difficult as most of the employees are Spanish speaking only, but that doesn't stop them from giving the best service and ensuring that your meal is exactly how you want it. It was a good little hole in the wall. It is pretty cheap. I don't think anything is over $9 except for a multiple person fajita plate. The salsa is great! It was really fresh with a lot of black pepper in it. I got the la rueda plate. The taco was my favorite, because the ground beef was really flavorful. The reviews were good, they had a rating of 4 stars, I was in the mood for Tex Mex, and didn't want to drive far (was heading to Mexican Inn) so decided to give La Rueda a go based on the Yelp reviews. Horrible Customer Service at La Rueda Restaurant. For the second time in less than a year, I experienced the worst customer experience ever at La Rueda restaurant. As a regular customer before and during the pandemic, I've ordered my food to go many times. Whenever ordering beans with my order I always order charro beans as I'm not a fan of refried beans. This is exactly what I did yesterday. Upon paying and arriving home, I discovered they'd given me refried beans. I called to let them know of the mistake only to be told by whomever answered the phone that I had just said beans, to which I replied-- "no ma'am, I said several times, "charro beans." Had it been a single serving I would have just let it go, but I had purchased a 16 oz size. I informed them that I would be returning for charro beans at which the lady responded that they'd be charging me an additional amount. I said I'd discuss with the manager upon my return. Upon my arrival, the manager immediately appeared and began explaining why I'd have to pay more. I told her it was the poorest example of customer service I had ever seen. No consideration for my inconvenience because of their error and the cold lunch I'd be returning to. I simply asked for a refund and gave her back the refried beans. A similar incident had happened several months ago at the same restaurant. I gave them a second chance. Good food, but poor management. I'll never set foot in that restaurant again.... Too many other great places to eat in our neighborhood and city!" read more

This is not corporate Mexican food. This little place has a traditional taste that is usually fresh and well prepared. Good taste. Not bland. Small portions are reasonably priced. Food is often spicy and traditional recipes are tasty and usually well prepared. Sometimes everything is perfectly prepared and occasionally just a little different from what you expected. You do have to choose from the menu wisely. Most items are really good, but I would never choose the tacos. Missed the boat on the tacos ... and the flautas ... Chips are okay. Hot sauce is great. Traditional enchiladas are good and the chili rellenos are great. We often order ala carte and pick and choose to fit our appetite. You can eat light here and not blow your diet. Prices are reasonable so you don't have to overeat to feel like you got your monies worth. There are dishes on the menu Anglos may not recognize. This place is not well known, but that is a good thing. Family run, small, and quiet. If it's busy, it could be a wait, only a handful of table to run thru before seats come open. Food is made to order and portions are generous. You can taste all the flavors in every bite. Not a fan of the hot sauce, but then again, I'm not a fan of cilantro. My husband and I love this restaurant. The food is always good and fresh cooked. One of my favorites is the Tuesday special, 2 chicken enchiladas and a crispy chicken taco served with rice and beans for $6.50. Their salsa and chips are some of the best I have eaten. Their servings are very generous and I can never finish my plate. Three years ago we started a new Christmas Eve tradition and started ordering breakfast burritos and breakfast taco plates for our family and it was delish! Everyone loved it and now it is what we do for our family instead of cooking breakfast at home and having the mess to clean up afterwards. I got migas with beans and breakfast potatoes and it was delicious! Chips and salsa are pretty standard, enjoyable. Service was fine but they forgot my friend's soda after bringing water. My food tasted great though, the migas had chicken and fried tortilla stops. Their dessert selection looked great and they had a fridge full of cheesecake. On Saturday Sept. 23 we went in for breakfast. We have been going here for over a year at least once a month. Service was extremely slow. They no longer offer chips and salsa. We ordered coffee which tasted like it was left over from the day before. There was also alot of grounds in the cup. We asked them to brew a fresh pot and they refused and just reserved from the same pot the previos coffee came from. The coffee used to be great. That is no longer the case. Our food did not come out at the same time. My food arrived several minutes before my husband's. I needed a box for leftovers but after we got our food, the waitress never came back. There was only one waitress to take to take care of about 15 tables. The restaurant just went through a major remodel and it appears as if they are trying to save money. Also their credit card machine was broken.We happened to have cash which normally we do not. There was not a sign posted to notify customers the could not accept cards at this time. Their salsa is seasoned well and the little gems I have found are there specials, the Caldo de Pollo (when they have it) is awesome. This is a small little restaurant on the east side of Fort Worth. You must drive through some shady parts of Fort Worth in order to get there. The restaurant has maybe 8 tables, total, and can seat maybe 20 people. It's inside an old house, which is cool to look at when you drive up. The chips are great, however, don't expect much after that. The servers aren't the nicest, nor do they care about their tables or if you need more chips or drinks. I was looking for fresh, homemade tortillas but was sadly disappointed when they brought me Walmart ones that they had tossed in the grill. The food is average, at best, and their chile (salsa) is canned with some cilantro tossed in it. All in all, i wasn't too pleased, nor was it worth the trip through the ghetto to get to it. Great place to go get a very great meal! This was my second time going in today and they always have really good deals posted on the wall when you walk in.
