Lemon cake

Picked up my custom made cake for $143.00! 10 inch round cake. The vanilla sponge was dry, beyond dry. The butter cream was simply butter, forgot the sugar. The decoration was below subpar. I don't understand how this can be passed as $143 custom made cake! Almost everyone said it tasted dry- stale even ‍

HORRIBLE! This place CAN NOT make custom cakes but will LIE and say they can! La Renaissance ruined my daughter's Sweet 16! We ordered a custom cake and were promised something VERY different from what was delivered. The cake cost $509.76 and when I complained, the owner told me I was being so rude over a cake. If you charge $500 for a cake, it should look beautiful. Please look at the pictures of the cake she provided for $500. On top of that, she berated me via text!!! Very poor customer service on top of a horrific cake in design and taste! Our guests said it didn't taste good either! It was so dry! Save yourself the heartache and stay away!

I've been coming to La Renaissance for a while- just because White Plains doesn't have anything this quaint and French. I don't mind the 10 minute drive south of me- but it's so worth it. As soon as you go in, all you smell is sweet butter. No odd and old grease smell in the air here. La Renaissance is small, but they're packed with tons of Whole cakes, cakes by the slice and pastries. What brings me every time is their decadent Hot Cocoa. Never fails! It's delicious and really cocoaey- definitely puts Swiss Miss to shame! Design is simple with cute accents that make it pop like the metal Eiffel Tower by the entrance, a ceramic kind of old-fashioned plaque with La Renaissance's name and a wooden and straw-looking baguette holder against the wall. There's also a self-serve coffee caddy with cups, stirrers and your sugars, and 2 tables with chairs (I'm telling you, it's small). I absolutely dig La Renaissance, and definitely so worth it in flavor and quality for me. Coming out of White Plains zone for a good cup of hot cocoa and a pastry with a French touch, is ultimate for me.

This place's chocolate croissants and other croissants are AMAZING! Incredible! They are quite delicious, and sweet, but very buttery.

I had been following Lulus Bake Shop on Instagram for a while but never got around to…read morevisiting--until I saw they were offering 25-cent cake slices! That was all the motivation I needed to make time for a stop in. It was two slices per customer, so I grabbed two coconut slices and my husband chose the carrot cake with salted caramel icing. OMG... the carrot cake was absolutely delicious. It was super moist with the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. The icing was the standout! My son picked out a black and white cookie decorated with a heart, which was just as cute as it was tasty. The glass cases were filled with beautifully decorated cakes in so many different flavors perfect if you're looking to order a custom cake for a special occasion. We were greeted upon entering the store and the employee was nice enough to point out which cake slices were the quarter ones and answered our questions. It is a small and quaint bakery. It's also grab and go. Just a heads up: metered parking only.

Well walking by yesterday, I noticed a black and white cookie from outside and I figured let me see if I can buy it. I'm so happy I did, I also got a chocolate "Twinkie" and a birthday cake one. So delicious. I can see the hype now. The cake in the black and white cookie was so moist and delicious. I almost want to order a custom cake for myself now just to try it.

I needed some coffee fuel and Yelp was going to determine the rest of my day with the decision I was about to make. It was either going to make it or break it. Well, I wouldn't be writing this five star review if I hadn't had the most delicious cappuccino and caffè macchiato to be made. This little hole in the wall is so cute and reminded me of being in "un bar" in Italia. Just coffee, pasticcini, cornetti and gelato. My favorite breakfast is simple, cornetto e caffè, I don't need anything more than that. Of course I went for the cornetto alla nocciola (hazelnut almost nutella croissant) and ordered a caffè but macchiato. Exactly the way it is. Just a touch of milk to stain my coffee to perfection. My husband ordered the cappuccino (which I never ever get) and let's just say it was perfection. The barista that morning absolutely killed it, and I made sure to tell her. Not only did she make the most beautiful coffee art, the oat milk was extra creamy, fluffy when it needed to be but more of a velvety smooth texture that when you sip it, it stays foamy and not overly airy to the point it then falls flat by the time you take a few sips. Yes, Omni nailed cappuccino! Now I know a great go to spot next time I'm in this area.

Stumbled across this cafe by accident! Really quaint little spot with limited, yet cozy seating…read more The cafe has a modern Italian aesthetic to it that is charming. I ordered a hot chai latte and a pistachio croissant. The croissant was one of the best I've ever had! The pistachio filling was made with real pistachios, which you can tell by the taste and color. The croissant itself was buttery and soft. My chai latte was good, not great, not bad. The baristas were very polite and knowledgeable about the products and even gave me a sample of the pistachio filling. Will be back soon!
