The cake I ordered wasn't delivered on the date we had specified; they gave me several unconvincing reasons for their failure when I called to ask why? For years I've heard rave reviews on this bakery. I'm never really over near Bronxville but today I was searching for carrot cake. I heard that the topps carrot cake was pretty great. Off I went. I grabbed some jelly donuts, black and white cookies, s carrot cake and I noticed these slices of lemon buttercream cake. I'm here today to tell the world that 1. This is a great bakery. 2. That's lemon buttercream cake was DEVINE! I take my lemon treats very seriously and this is one not to miss. Great job! Also, service was attentive and charming by two young women behind the counter. This bakery should be a 4 star, but service was poor. Stopped in for the first time in search of some sweet treats. I ordered several cake slices, a few cupcakes, apple turnovers and black and white mini cakes. The black and white cakes were amazing, like a black and white cookie, with a moist cake hiding underneath. The individual cake slices were really enjoyable with moist cake and not overly sweet icing. Just perfect. Loved the turnover and cookie too. Service was the worst part of this experience. It was Mother's Day. The one teen that served me was on her phone and seemed annoyed that we were picking out various items, and she had to pause her call. She packed everything while she was on phone, and cupcakes were smooshed in box. When we opened box, all icing was stuck to top of it. You can't put cupcakes in a pie box! She should know that! Other than that, treats were delicious. The other workers seemed very nice and professional. I'll wait next time to be served by one of them. read more

Nothing taste good here. I'm sure no real butter is being used. Instead it's oil. Everything leaves a waxy feel in your mouth after eating. Cookies and cakes all the same waxy oily residue that butter doesn't leave . Trying to save Pennie's and charging more. Terrible tasting products. read more

This is the only bakery where I buy my bread. Every loaf of bread is straight from their kitchen. Whenever I buy my multigrain loaf, I have a black and white cookie and a medium cup of coffee . Their black and white cookie is arguably the best one I've ever had in my entire life. It melts in your mouth and is quite addictive. Why do people give this bakery good reviews? Ordered a donut and coffee both were terrible. Donut tasted old, made with low grade Ingredients. One bite and I was done. Coffee was awful, tasted like it was sitting in the pot all day. Please don't sell dated baked goods. Clean the coffee makers or buy a better quality coffee. It's frustrating that a popular town like Bronxville lacks a quality bakery. I should know better I've been there before some time ago, the experience was similar. I keep hoping it will improve. We bought a 6" strawberry shortcake and just got home. To my horror, the strawberries on the cake are rotten (see the photo). Absolutely disgusting. I was there years ago and remember the shortcake was lovely. I now live in Manhattan and was there today for a day trip. The cake used to have whole strawberries around the cake but now only strawberry halves in a semi circle on half the cake. The place has cheapened beyond words, the quality was so crappy I didn't recognize the same place I visited just a few years ago. It's shocking this kind of place is still around because it won't survive in NYC. Save time and frustration, and go elsewhere. read more

The food is good but the stand out is the fresh cinnamon sugar bread which is perfect for mornings or as an ingredient in elevating your French Toast! The doughnuts are great too. There is a wow factor when it comes to those items. The staff is nice. The place is clean. They have a lot of cookie options but the cookies are not the star...so they get a 4/5. Topps made 8 dozen mini cookies--pink-and-white versions of their famous black-and-white cookies--for my daughter's baby shower. We sent treat boxes to all the virtual attendees in advance of the shower, and gave out favor bags with the cookies to in-person attendees. I had a very unpleasant experience with this bakery. I placed an order on Thursday and given it was a short notice for the cake, the girl reassured me that it was possible and they won't have any problems. I followed up on Friday in person and received the same confirmation. On Saturday I called again and the girl said they would call me back - only the following day (Sunday) i received a call to let me now that the order cannot be fulfilled - this is extremely unprofessional to cancel an order a day before the due date after multiple follow up inquiries leaving me in tough situation to find a back-up plan. read more

I tried a cheese danish which was good and tasted fresh. However, to me it didn't taste any different from danish served by other bakeries that I've been to in the past. I used to frequent Topps Bakery often but had stopped coming. I came in a few weeks ago and found that they are under new management. The new owner has made many changes for the better. The decor is cheerier and much more open. He restored the tables for seating. The staff is friendly. Overall, it's a much better customer experience. They are more accommodating and accept credit cards now. For the food, the pastries are fresher. They seem to bake in smaller quantities. They may run out more quickly, but the quality is much better. I agree with other reviews about bread prices. $5.75 for a baguette is too much. It is delicious but really should not be more than $3.99 (double the grocery store price). read more

Happy Passover and Happy Easter. It's wonderful that in our melting pot that our religions mix. On that note, I went into Topps Bakery in Bronxville two days ago to purchase macaroons for my holiday. I was told, incredulously, the price of each tiny coconut macaroon was TWO DOLLARS each! I simply could not believe it! For Italian cookies their price is $10 a pound. I walked out of Topps Bakery. I called today to complain to the manager that I felt discriminated against because of my faith. That is the first time in the modern era that I felt like I was wearing a Jewish star on my chest. The manager told me, and I quote, "We serve Jews all the time." I told her that this was America and we don't brand people by their race or religion. I told her I will be filing a complaint. She told me to "Go right ahead." I feel angry and labeled because of the insensitivity if Topps Bakery in Bronxville. Do NOT shop there. I am Jewish and I am proud. My whole life as a teacher and administrator was a battle against racial and religious bigotry. To find an establishment in 2022 that is so blatantly Anti-Semitic is a blight for all of us, regardless of race or religion. read more

Wonderful bakery for pastries, muffins, bread. Their pastries are the star, in my opinion - fresh and just the right amount of sweetness. Almond rings are my favorite but I recently tried a cinnamon sugar coated muffin and it is a close second! Plus, they are reasonably priced. On the other hand, their bread is delicious, but a bit pricey. I'm not sure a loaf of sliced white bread is worth $5.75. I also have not had much luck with their cakes. Note, for anyone who has had trouble paying by credit card here in the past, they are under new ownership and the new owner has said that there are no longer credit card minimums. read more

I walked in there without a an idea of what I wanted and expected to be helped slightly, or guided in some direction and instead was met with an unhappy, condescending employee. Everything i asked, she just stared at me dazed and confused like she had no idea what was i asking. In the end, i opted for cupcakes. She put them in a size fit for double the amount of cupcakes i ordered and they all flopped over by the time i got home. Going to my event empty handed because of the poor delivery of what may have been a really good cupcake. The chocolate croissant was really good though!
