Portions were huge, chips were hot and everything was very tasty. Service was really good. Typical decor.

They did it again! Todays burritos were huge!! This place is always consistently good. Their salsa has a nice kick too it which is why I ate way too much of it today. I got the burrito Roqueta, my husband the burrito choriconqueso(Sp?) and my daughter the arroz con pollo. All delicious! Always nice to have a place you know will be good and they always get you in and out.

We ate here tonight for Mother's Day. It was all right. But it was a bite bland. They did have really good salsa. But you can't judge a lot off me because I really don't like Mexican food that much. They did have huge portions.

I hadn't been here in a couple of years, so a friend and I decided to try it out again. They have really done a lot of updates to make the inside much nicer with a bigger feel. We decided to split the fajitas with shrimp, chicken, and steak. We've been comparing fajitas at several Mexican restaurants, and the ones here are definitely our favorite. They seem to have a little more seasoning than other places do, and they were very good. The salsa here has a bit more kick than some others, and was good as well. We will definitely be back.

I have eaten here quite a few times and all I can say is that every single time without fail, we have gotten great service and food. You can literally make any request to change any platter to your like and they will not think about it, they just simply do it to make sure that you're satisfied with your experience. There are other options, but I do like a place that has a family feel to it and this is it! (Don't forget to try the Queso!)

It was dingy and old fashioned before but it looks good on the inside now and they added additional dining space indoors and outside.

Outstanding Mexican food. Truly, some of the best Mexican food I've eaten in Indiana so far. And…read moreTlahcos is located in Plainfield, of all places. What a pleasant surprise! I got the quesa birria tacos, which is shredded beef and melted cheese in a double corn tortilla. They come three to an order, with a cup of red consomme to dip them into, and a couple of lime wedges to squeeze over everything. They do not come with any sides, so I ordered the refried pinto beans and carrot rice, because I really wanted some rice and beans. Beans and rice are my litmus test of any Mexican restaurant, and I'm happy to say that the rice and beans at Tlahcos passed the test with flying colors, and they are sublime. I don't practice Santeria, but perhaps the people at Tlahcos do, because their food is bewitching. The carne asada was also ordered, and it came with grilled nopales (cactus), cebollita canbray (little onions), grilled panela cheese, plus guacamole, salsa, rice and black beans. It was a 98%, and what would have raised it to a 100% was if it came with tortillas. But really, it was a great dish! If you're a person who is used to eating carne asada on a regular basis, you will be satisfied with this one. Chips and salsa are complimentary, which shows that Tlahcos knows its Plainfield-area visitors. My children, who eat like birds, filled themselves up on chips and salsa and declined a full meal, but Tlahcos does have a kids menu. On the kids menu, you'll find arroz con pollo, mini cheese quesadillas, a taco, mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and a mini pizza. Kid meals come with your choice of side, which are fries, rice & beans or a cup of fruit. They have a full cocktail list, as well as beer, wine and hot beverages (coffee and tea). I got a Paloma, which was a little light on the booze, but tasty nevertheless. The rim of the glass was beautifully decorated with Tajin, which added a nice, spicy kick. It was one of those drinks that makes you want to lick the glass.

The drinks are great. I have had the Birria tacos, the guacamole, the refried beans, and black beans, as well as multiple food options. Seriously, I have taken clients here as well as family. My most recent experience was still great, but there are two items I would never order off the menu. Let's look at the good and bad of these items: Baja Fish Tacos- I was looking for the cabbage-filled delicacies that are light but flavorful. What I received appeared to be small fish sticks stuck into a tortilla. The cabbage and sauce were tasty, but they could not mask the main cause of the tacos' failure: the fish. Do not order these. Ceviche Yucatan- looking for flavor with the light ceviche? That is not what this is. This is a large portion of ceviche dressed in a sweet sauce that completely overpowers it. Not even sure that you can call it a ceviche at this point. But the portion was good, and the ceviche ingredients looked fresh. Otherwise, we had the house guac, which was so so good, the birria tacos, which were amazing with the sauce as usual, the fundido, which was flavorful cheese and chorizo, as well as the Zapopan, which was a wonderful fusion of mango and spice (who knew bacon in this would be great). Housemade Horchata is great, not too sweet and flavorful as well as the Rita margarita! GREAT. Overall, a great night, some great food, and I will be back, but I will just not order the two items discussed above! PROS: Great flavors and food Good seating Good service Parking garage or street parking, easy CONS: Smaller actual bar top area
