I love all things chestnut flavoured, so I had to try the crepe with creme de marron. The crepes here are thin and crispy and are really good. Mine was just the right size and sweetness to cure me of my sweet tooth craving. The creme de marron is very sweet, so be warned. The waiter and I eventually settled into a strange mix of Frenglish that gave me a false sense of competence in my French. Plus I finally learned that the bill is called "l'addition"....and to think I've been calling it something else all these years. A warm and welcoming basement space that is surprisingly bright. The exposed brick walls, dark green benches, and low wattage exposed bulbs fulfil all my requirements for a cozy crepe place. I like it. read more

Ehhhhhh... I don't even know. I would like to give a good review but I don't feel I can do so. The food itself is reasonably good, quality varying slightly course to course. I have had better escargot, but they were acceptable, and the dessert crepe with chestnut cream was absolutely flawless. The dinner crepe, however- I believe I had the Paysanne- was tasty but it could have used more mushrooms and, I am not certain how else to explain this... There was no evidence of an egg white anywhere in the contents of the crepe and the yolk, which had been set neatly in the middle, was cold and suspiciously undercooked, perhaps even raw. My glass of wine tasted off and when I delicately suggested it might be corked [obviously untrue, that's an unmistakable flavor, but it's a not-impolite way to indicate that you've been served something not up to par] the waiter informed me that was impossible because it was a screw top. What actually happened, I realized when he went to pour me a new glass and I saw the bottle in question, is that the wine was from at least the day before, and no one had bothered to seal it properly. Truthfully, I was disappointed in the service, and the strangeness with the egg, because I'd like to be able to recommend the food more highly, especially given how expensive nice food can be in Copenhagen. From two visits I can say I have had a good experience every time. It was also enough to make me Duke of this place, which means Yelpers are not regulars here. Firstly, I was sceptical. A crepe as a desert seemed a good thing and the first time I went I had one with apple and a very good coffee. Still, it seemed an ordinary English or even Danish style pancake and I was not convinced it would be good as a savoury thing. The second time, outside as we had a dog, it was. Ordering the Yannick (named after the owner, I assume), I was very happy. It passed for a good lunch, together with the chocolate pancake and another good espresso. Well done, all! Certainly, an occasion place rather than a regular place. However, the very French owner does seem to have a genuine enthusiasm for the place and it comes over in how well the place runs. read more

Dropped by this place after the meal in Royal Cafe, because me and my friends are still hungry and we are craving for crepes. We had the flammable orange suzette crepe and ham and cheese galette. Orange suzette crepe: they poured alcohol and lighted up fire on the crepe. The orange-y alcohol taste is really strong, but I like it when I spread the ice-cream on the crepe. Along the alcohol, crepe and ice cream, it was a great combination. But next time, I might just try their crepes with sugar or Nutella, as they are cheaper. Ham and cheese crepe: I actually like this better, the cheese smells really nice. But I wouldn't say it was extra-ordinary, it just tasted like ham, cheese and crepe. Comfort food tho. Maybe I would try there creme brulee next time, but before that I would prefer getting crepes from the street vendors in stoget, cheaper and that's what I need. :) read more

The good parts first: The crepes were delicious and the prices likewise. The interior was super cozy and you can sit outside in summer, which is great since the surroundings are very big city cool in that Scandinavian way. But the service was bad. My three friends are I were met by a girl, who was angry that we booked for three people when we turned up four. In our defence, we only knew we were going to be four half an hour earlier, but the girl said that normally it was acceptable to call and say that sort of thing. Well, I had earlier tried to call (when I wanted to book a table), but no one picked up the phone on any of my four calls (in the end, I showed up in person). Anyway, this mistreatment of her was apparantly quite monstrous, and so she put two tables together. It took two seconds. Perhaps three. My one friend wanted the fish soup, but asked what kinds of fish was in it. The male waiter here was very nice, but his answer was: "fish from... the deep sea?" Afterwards she admitted that that answer was probably the funniest she had ever gotten to that sort of question (what can I say, my friends are mild-mannered and humorous). read more

After having done some research here on Yelp, I found this crêperie and decided to take my mum & sister here when we were in Copenhagen. It's well situated, just a few minutes walk from Ströget. I had the La Pétanque, my sister the Paysanne and my mum the one of the day. I had a bit from theirs and they were both delicious, as was mine! Such a cozy, friendly and most of all - delicious place! Strongly recommend it to everyone. We didn't have room in our stomachs for the dessert crêpes so I can't say anything about them, but if they're as good as the galettes... it's heaven! read more

Warm atmosphere, a bit dusty here and there but surely just plays a part of the charming look of an old french cafe. The waiter is without a doubt french and lets nobody escape that fact, floating a bit above the floor humming along to the french radio in the background and chiming "Oui monsieur!" or "Merci madame!" and other seducing words on the telephone that sing between the cellar walls. The "galette" I had was delicious and simple with cheese and ham surrounded by a crisp layer of buckwheat flour pancake and I had one of those french cherry juices for nostalgic purposes. I felt like I could have been in France when it was served with one of those corny neon-straws. I'll definitely be coming back for more advanced gastronomical adventures and to check the wine list.
