Let's just say I ate a LOT of pastries during my stay, and most of them from Meyers because they won my heart (or stomach). It all started with the raspberry bar (which I call Danish pop tart but it's so much better than a pop tart). It didn't have the white icing on it which I had seen at a bunch of other bakeries. But I actually prefer it that way because I usually find icing to be too sweet. I don't know how to describe this Danish pop tart, but I do know I will be dreaming about it for years after I return to Toronto. SO GOOD. So the next time I went back, I got the pastry with the poppy seeds on top, and butter and sugar inside. It was pretty good - very filling! I think I like there to be more flavours to my pastries though. Then, I went back the day after for a rhubarb pop tart and a rumball. I think I prefer the raspberry pop tart over the rhubarb one. And the rumball was yummy, and also very filling. We decided to comeback for dessert and I am so glad we did. One of my friends warned me cheesecake in Europe (especially Germany) does not always taste like cheesecake in the USA, because many bakers use quark instead of cream cheese. Well, Copenhagen is awesome and this adorable cafe with amazing cheesecake that does taste like my favorite cheesecake in the USA, made my trip. I tried the chocolate genache cheesecake and my husband ordered the pecan carmel cheesecake. Our friends ordered the tiramisu cheesecake. All three were absolutely delicious. We also ordered lattes and prosecco. The prosecco paired extremely well with the chocolate genache cheesecake. I can't wait to comeback. Thanks again!! :-)

I am so glad I got it, because it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. The pastry was very chewy but flaky on the outside, and there was just the right amount of cinnamon. There were so many options in the pastry case that I couldn't pick just one, so I tried a cream puff, pistachio danish, and a hot chocolate to go along with them. They brought my order to my table where I had a nice view of the park grounds. To my surprise the hot chocolate was a build your own, I received a cup of hot milk, whipped cream on the side, and different types of chocolate truffles to mix in with the milk depending on my preference. The danish and cream puff were some of the best treats, perfect taste, perfect texture, perfect everything! Cakenhagen is a Tivoli gem and I am dreaming of the day I can go back to savor their treats again. I'd give them more than just five stars if I could!
