It took us 30 minutes to get here from where we were staying just to try their cardamom buns that are said to be the best in the city. It's a decent 10 minute walk (a little longer with kids) from the closest Metro station and there is no sign that I could see. What clued me in other than the map was the crowd. It's located at a corner and there was a line that spilled into the sidewalk with people lingering nearby. There are outdoor tables and the inside is small - but the line moved pretty fast all things considered. We were there at around 10 am on a Thursday and we were in line for just over 10 minutes. With the sheer amount of people, it gets a little chaotic when you get inside. You don't have long to see what they have, especially if you're short like I am. I only got 2 cardamom buns, a vanilla pastry, and a coffee with milk. (I later saw there was a whole other section of goodies that I missed along the windows.) A note for their coffee: it's either black or with milk. They don't have fancy caffeinated drinks. We managed to get a table outside (I opted to eat the vanilla pastry because I didn't want that smushed up in my backpack) and promptly discovered why there were tables available. Bees. If you're allergic to bee stings, bring your baked goods elsewhere and find a bench. The bees were everywhere as the pastries were all glazed and you took turns to taste the food as soon as they flew off. Sometimes, several land at the same time. Despite it all, they were pretty docile. We stayed until we were done. The vanilla pastry was really good! The custard was ample. I didn't manage to eat the cardamom bun until the next day at the airport and despite its sad state that looked nothing like it did when purchased, it was so delicious! Even 24 hours later. The actual bread was still beautifully soft and melt in your mouth. The cardamom was super fragrant and seemed fresh. It also wasn't all that sweet. I found myself regretting not getting more, but maybe I'll be lucky enough to go back one day. Their cardamom buns are legit. I had several in the city and these were the most memorable hands down. I wish I could have brought home a crate of them.
If you live in CPH or visiting, this place is definitely worth a visit. Every pastry we ordered was delicious but the highlight for me was their cheese and butter sandwich - one of the best I have ever had and highly recommended. If you are looking for some original danish cookies, they have those available as well. The only under par item is the cardamom bun (IMO), for that I'd prefer the Hart bakery! There is usually a line but it moves fast. The staff is very helpful. There is some seating outside the cafe and a block over there is a little park with some benches where you can sit with your pastries and a coffee from the close by Prolog cafe to enjoy your pastries.
There's something extremely special about Juno the bakery. The way they're able to offer high quality baked goods, coffee, and overall experience at such a reasonable price deeply impressed me. I had a cardamom bun, strawberry tart, and almond pastry. All three were very fresh tasting, not too sweet, with a perfect dough. The staff is very friendly and although the lines get long they move very fast. Juno the bakery has a very modern appeal with their minimalistic yet timeless decor. Inside the bakery you also get a view of their talented bakers at work, which is also quite the treat.

It was perfectly sweet and had great texture - soft inside with a slightly crispy exterior. The strawberry pastries were great too - no notes! I grabbed some of their Danish cookies which were pricey ($35USD when I was there). The cookies were fine, if not for the cute tin, I would've skipped. They have outside seating which we tried to use but then got too many bee and bird visitors. Juno really outshined all other bakeries for me. It was the very first one I visited and so all other bakeries seemed like they fell short in comparison. If there's one bakery you need to go visit in Copenhagen, it's Juno.

Juno the Bakery is simply a must visit in Copenhagen. Get there early before the doors open or else there will be a huge line. Every item I tried was perfection. The bun with butter was light and airy, with a simple yet irresistible flavor. The pan de chocolate was divine , flaky on the outside and rich with just the right amount of chocolate on top. The cardamom bun. Wow. Fragrant, subtly spiced, and not too sweet, it was the perfect pairing with a morning coffee. The vanilla danish with custard was another highlight, with a creamy, silky custard that balanced the crisp pastry shell. And the almond croissant was a show-stopper, filled with a delicious almond paste that made each bite unforgettable. Everything here feels like it's made with the utmost care, and the quality is unbeatable. Highly highly recommend.
top tier bakery. wish i came here earlier to have more options as they typically run out early in the day. the service was very friendly and such a cute atmosphere with some outdoor seating. i got a tart filled cardamom pastry. it was DELICIOUS. definitely make this stop when visiting copenhagen.

My family and I recently visited Copenhagen and Juno was on our list of places to try! It came highly recommended. We arrived at about 8:30 in the morning, and there was a short line. It was raining, and I expect the line would've been longer, had it not been raining. The inside of the bakery was small and had standing room only, but there was a small patio outside with plenty of outdoor seating. The bakery itself where everything gets baked is large, and you can see it from the counter. The counter is stocked with breads and pastries, as well as teas for purchase. Everything looked delicious and freshly prepared. The bakery smelled absolutely incredible! We purchased a cardamom bun, vanilla bun, almond croissant, and a slice of lemon cake. Everything was amazing! The cardamom bun was perfect. The vanilla bun was basically a cinnamon bun with vanilla custard (great combination). The almond bun was tasty, and the slice of lemon cake was refreshingly citrusy. I'm very glad we made the trek out to Juno on this trip, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Definitely worth the try!
I heard about this spot on tiktok (hehe) & decided to pop in on my very short layover in Copenhagen... reaaaaally glad I did! Even on a cold, rainy morning the line was out the door & down the front patio, so I could tell the hype was real. This pastry, which was a croissanty danish filled with creme and a marmalade (orange? apricot?!) and topped w fresh raspberries, was ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. I'm kinda mad at myself for scarfing in down in one tiny minute..... but gawd I couldn't resist. It was v expensive (like $8 USD) but honestly worth it. Highly recco!

Food: pastries are devious!! I highly recommend the almond croissant as well as the eclair! Service: was great! The staff were friendly and got things moving as fast as they can. Ambiance: cute and simple. There's a few seating area in the front but tends to get packed. read more
This is a popular bakery, as evidenced by lines at lines. I was surprised how small the bakery was and the limited options of pastries available. There were spandauers, croissants, chocolate croissants, cardamom buns, and two or three types of bread. I got a chocolate croissant and a semolina custard bun. The chocolate croissant was delicious -- many flakey layers of buttery goodness and the chocolate inside was high-quality. The semolina custard bun, on the other hand, had too much cream and the bun itself had a soggy texture (1 star off); I didn't like that one. There are a few outdoor tables. If you are one of those pastry lovers who must devour pastries right after purchase, plan your visit accordingly. Weather-permitting, you may not be able to devour them at their outdoor tables right away. read more

Pastries made in heaven!! First time in Copenhagen, first time trying danish pastries and first time I fall in love so easily with just one bite. Im still in awe with this bakery and the quality of their pastries. The artistry and technic behind them all is amazing. I went crazy and ordered a lot of them, all incredible, but the vainilla custard bun was insanely delicious no exaggeration. It was savory and sweet, flaky and delicate, just perfection. Also the one with blueberries was delicious. We got there on a Sat around 11:30am, there was a line but it moved fast. Service was quick and efficient. JUNO is definitely a most if you are in Copenhagen!!!! read more

Everything I imagined and more. The baked goods here are so so good and there was a line out the door through closing time, mixed with locals, expats, and tourists. No indoor seating, all outdoor. Casual but cute vibes. We arrived around 2pm and there wasn't as much variety as the mornings but I luckily snatched a cardamom bun, cream bun, and milk bread. The cardamom bun was strong and still warm. Flavorful, aromatic, and soft on the inside. Milk bread bun was pillowy soft and a great plain option. Cream bun was the ultimate winner, the cream is amazing, not too sweet, light but flavorful. Best pastry I had on my 12 day trip through Germany, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The bakery was a bit out of the way to get to from where we were staying but so worth the visit. Highly recommend. read more

Given ALL the hype it's rather impressive that these pastries rise to the challenge. We arrived on Saturday at around 1pm and there was a line of maybe 20 people, but it moved quickly. After about 15 minutes we had our 3 pastries. Cardamom bun definitely takes the #1 spot, perfectly balanced flavors and texture. The other pastries were also very good tho! I'd recommend getting your coffee elsewhere, such as Kap3 down the street like we did. Juno seems to have drip but, take advantage of the local coffee scene! There's limited seating in the cute Juno courtyard, but prepare to have to take your pastries to go. read more

The hype for this place is so strong. And the line is reflective of that. If there weren't a line outside not sure I would've thought much of it, as it could be a cute neighborhood bakery. The seating area is actually quite ample but fills up quickly. The apple rhubarb pastry was fairly good, worth trying. Interestingly, there weren't a ton of pastries on display that I was super wanting to try, so I wonder if a lot of the hype is around the taste or the experience. There are a lot of park spaces/coffee shops nearby you can bring the pastries to so as not to resort to eating the pastries on the street! read more

We came 20 minutes before it opened and decided to chill down the bakery on a bench, when it was 5 minutes before its opening, there was already a line! The bakery itself is super cute and smells amazingly, I love the aspect of being able to see the bakers prep from the outside (window) and inside as well. We got a rhubarb danish & an almond croissant and wow that almond croissant was covered in toasted almonds with a delicious filling-- not too sweet just perfect and a perfect buttery crunch and the rhubarb!! Exceeded my expectations, it was a fruity jam, again not too sweet and just a delicious balance with the butter flakiness and the softness of the jam. We also got some of their packaged Danish cookies and the chocolate is so rich in flavor. read more

It was an amazing bakery in a small nook. Limited seating outside, but cant beat the crisp pastries & freshly made cakes. They just have regular pot coffee only. Well worth the visit. Bought cookie boxes for family back home. read more

Probably the most well known bakery in Copenhagen, especially for their cardamom buns (32DKK). There were surprisingly no lines when I came in, however I did not see their almond croissant (which I also would like to try, maybe next time). The bun itself was quite lovely, less sweet than cinnamon buns but more fragrant, with the sea salt on top providing a nice balance. Keep in mind that they only have filter coffee. read more
The line was on to the street before opening and that's how you knew it was going to be good. The cardamom bun was a creative take and had a deep flavor with mild sweetness. The vanilla custard was a little sweeter and tastes like a very well done classic. They were making so many pastries that morning so you are sure to get something fresh and delicious. read more

Came on a Sunday morning around 10am and queued for roughly 40 minutes. Surprisingly I found the wait to be 100% worth it because I had the best almond crossaint of my life here! It is served warm, the filling is a nice sweetness, and the pastry is just perfectly flaky. I also tried the sourdough bread, which comes with butter and cheese. It was good, but not as much of a standout as the crossaint. read more
Just ok. Ventured out of our way here to try pastries. The smell of fresh baked goods hits you when you walk in, but the variety was lacking. We tried one that had some apple jams filling. I asked what another one in process of being made was. The cashier said it was chocolate and vanilla cream. We waited for it and it turned out to be vanilla cream with yet more apple jam filling. Very specific flavor to have such repetitive options. The filling was also falling out of the bottom of the pastry. Recommend Skt Peders over this spot. read more

Definitely worth the queue and wait (which wasn't too long tbh around 10-15 mins), had the delicious custard danish, cardamom bun and the almond bun. It's a small little cafe, so not much seating currently as they are renovating but if you like me, I found a bench just across the road and enjoyed my buns read more
Honestly the best cardamom buns I've ever had and I love cardamom buns in general. The addition of extra cardamom in the sugar on top is very thoughtful and ensures a good flavor to complement the perfect texture. The other pastries are good, but I believe the cardamom buns really shine and make this a five star establishment for me. Line was long but moved very quickly and there is a lovely playground across the street where I took my kids to enjoy our spoils! read more

Greetings from Juno the bakery! Worth the hype? I would say it's worth a trip if visiting. My husband had the custard pastry (will add photo soon) and that in our opinion was a must! Everyone liked it better than my cardamom bun. The coffee was excellent too! There's a sweet park for those with children across the street ( will post those pics soon too). The line could be long but it moves. Also, seating could be a challenge since many hold seats for people they're waiting for. Might go back today for more! read more
