Let's just say I ate a LOT of pastries during my stay, and most of them from Meyers because they won my heart (or stomach). It all started with the raspberry bar (which I call Danish pop tart but it's so much better than a pop tart). It didn't have the white icing on it which I had seen at a bunch of other bakeries. But I actually prefer it that way because I usually find icing to be too sweet. I don't know how to describe this Danish pop tart, but I do know I will be dreaming about it for years after I return to Toronto. SO GOOD. So the next time I went back, I got the pastry with the poppy seeds on top, and butter and sugar inside. It was pretty good - very filling! I think I like there to be more flavours to my pastries though. Then, I went back the day after for a rhubarb pop tart and a rumball. I think I prefer the raspberry pop tart over the rhubarb one. I am so glad I got it, because it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. The pastry was very chewy but flaky on the outside, and there was just the right amount of cinnamon. It was also very buttery (but of course it wasn't actual butter). Thus, I stuck to something that is second nature to me, tapas! This bar is cute and cozy, the menu has just the right amount of options and the beer is great!
