The staff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel is impeccably clean, and has an old world elegance you would not expect, overlooking the Rio Grande River in Laredo. Valet parking. Good security. Just two small disappointments: one would think this close to Mexico you can get a pretty good Huevos rancheros. It was a bland, tasteless breakfast with refried beans I think came out of a can from Ohio or somewhere. And in my nice room with a comfortable bed and tasteful appointments, the toilet dispenser was broken, a half-used rolls of toilet paper perched on the tank. But it was clean.

This is the only hotel we stay at when going to Laredo. We spend the night here and then drive to Mexíco in the morning. I've stayed at this hotel on three separate occasions and had a nice stay. The staff is friendly and is always helpful. This hotel is also within walking distance of the outlet mall. Around the corner they have currency exchange. Overall this is a good hotel to stay at.

If you're visiting Laredo, for whatever reason, you absolutely must stay at the historic La Posada. I'm going to have to preface this review by admitting my opinion is quite biased; skewed by the nostalgia of literally living here the entire summer for two consecutive years (2012 & 2013). That said, I have stayed at the other more upscale chain hotels all over this town, and none of them have compared to the overall experience here. If I tried to include everything I love about this place in this review, it would become one of those longwinded rambles most users of Yelp find hard to get through. Some highlights: * Maintained in a way that has preserved and enhanced its historical elegance over the years. Just look at some of the pictures. * I cannot even begin to tell you how courteous and responsive the staff are here. Some of the most well trained hotel staff I've ever encountered. * There are two beautiful courtyards, both with very big and awesome pools. * State-of-the-art fitness center with gym quality machines of all types, accommodating both cardio and resistance training. It even has a full rack high-quality rubber dumbbells. * If you get one of the nicer rooms in the west building facing south, you'll likely have a very spacious private balcony with a fantastic view of the Rio Grande. * Rates are fairly comparable to other nicer hotels. * The two very best restaurants in Laredo are part of the hotel: The Zaragoza Grill, and the Tack Room. Some things you should know: * It's located in downtown Laredo. You can't get any further downtown because the hotel is the last thing before crossing the river into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. While downtown Laredo is loaded with all kinds of historic charm, it's also an extremely shady area that I wouldn't recommend braving alone. Otherwise, the hotel itself is practically a fortress if you stay in. * Parking is interesting if you decide to self-park. You must park below in what I call "The Dungeon" of the hotel. It's really just an older parking garage, but there's a lot of interesting things you'll discover if you decide to explore it. One thing you absolutely must know is that upon entering the downward ramp, you have to stop, reverse, and correct your turn inwards, or else you will scrape the side of your vehicle against the outer wall. It's just too tight of a turn. You can see years of paint on the wall memorializing all the dumb-asses who tried to complete it in one turn and tragically ruined the paint job on their drivers side doors. Despite any not-so-attractive aspects I might have described, again I urge you, if you are visiting Laredo you will be doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't stay at the La Posada for all of the far outweighing benefits.

The rooms are spacious…read moreand super clean, so much so that our bathroom still had a fresh smell of cleaning supplies. We're in a king corner suite and there's more than enough space for my partner and I. The shower is probably my favorite bit and I love the fluffiness of the comforter. There is complimentary breakfast which is beyond your bagel and yogurt hotel breakfast. Think omelettes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, egg, fresh fruit, and so much more. Parking is complimentary and it's walking distance to the mall. Only gripe is the elevators being a bit of a mess but I'll take it.

It's also really close to the mall, to Walmart and a gas station. So it's pretty much located near everything you need. Its a massively large hotel. 6 stories high. The layout was nice. With all the hotel doors facing into a central courtyard. I love the fact that they had a really nice spread of their complimentary breakfast. They had an omelette/egg section with plenty of toppings. They can also make up French toast or pancakes on their griddle. Lots of selections of pastries, fruit, granola and cereals. I also like how big the breakfast area is too, so your never waiting for a table to open up during prime time. Check in was relatively easy. There's a whole bunch of parking even though they share a parking lot with the adjacent hotel. The rooms were large and spacious as well. There's a living room with sofas and a large table (to work) and a TV. Then the large bedroom had a king size bed and another TV! The sink for the bathroom was separated from the shower and toilet which I really don't care for. The bed was super comfortable. And they have pillows of varying height for your comfort. They also have a mini fridge and microwave in each room. There's an indoor swimming pool which is nice. As well as a smaller than expected gym, but it got the workout done. I love the water feature they have in the main lobby. It was pretty cool. Several things that I didn't like though, which cumulatively resulted in the losing a star were: 1. Only 1 elevator was working during our stay. And with 6 floors and so many guests, elevators took a while. 2. Took the shower a good 5 minutes to get up to the right temp which is super annoying and wasteful. 3. Several occasions my key card all of a sudden wouldn't let me in the room, so I had to goto the front desk to get it fixed. 3B. On that note, all you have to give the front desk is the room number and they'll get you another key. Which is cool, but they don't ask for any other forms of verification, they just give u a key to the room u ask for, which is kinda scary, especially if there's a creeper or stalker following you around. 4. Ac unit was on the fries. I had the heater turned on and it kept blowing cold air. Or I would turn the unit on and it would keep on going. Overall a great and comfortable stay (not too expensive either). If your ever in the Laredo area, definitely check this place out

Horrible customer service!!! Very unprofessional!!…read more Ok so it's been over 2 weeks since we left this place and I am still dealing with a $180 hold on my account! I have never in my life had such a horrible experience from the MOMENT I walked in the door... GRANTED the staff had issues with some of the other people on our team, they were very clear in letting us ALL know how UNWELCOME we were! Ok so WHY THE HELL would a company agree to allow PONY a contract during such a big event (World Series) and then be so freaking uptight?!? We came to Laredo, SPECIFICALLY contracted with Pony, and quality customer service is far from what we experienced! 1. If you didn't want kids in your hotel then you shouldn't have agreed to the contract with PONY Baseball and Softball to have us there. We are a WHOLE TEAM with 13 4-7 year olds, what on earth makes you think we can keep ALL of our kids completely silent, stop them all from running or stomping?!?!? 2. The SMART thing to do would have been to put us ALL in your outside hotel rooms, I guarantee you wouldn't have had the same issue..... 3. We are all human and we deserved RESPECT first and foremost DESPITE what anyone else said or did to you, you should have never taken it personal! Your customer service was ridiculous and unprofessional..not only horrible customer service, the front desk staff was actually talking shit about ME to another customer as I walked back to my room!!! We had cops called on us because we violated the EXTRA contract that was in place specifically for our group. The hotel stay, physically was ok, the hotel seems new and the location was good! Laredo PD was AMAZING!! Super sweet! They had Cheddars across the highway, AMAZING!! And lots of close places. Shout out to the security guard too!! He was human and nice! When I called to complain, corporate took the GMs side bc she grouped ALL OF US together as one, she exaggerated what our kids were doing; supposedly we let our kids jumping on lobby furniture, running up and down he halls, apparently we had 40 people at the pool that weren't supposed to be there etc etc etc And we were disturbing their clientele...umm.. we were the clientele!!! Y'all made close to $10k off of us and still made us all feel very uncomfortable! They Never once tried to make us feel welcomed!! When I checked out early they tried to tell me I wasn't getting ANY money back because they don't do that... corporate told me otherwise, and then the staff told me 3 different stories. THIS WAS ONLY what I could remember.... we were there for 5 days and each day it was something different!!! Basically, don't go to this crappy hotel! The pictures are great the facility was nice, the GM and her front staff all except ONE were all horrible!!! And this was my own PERSONAL experience! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE, EVER!!!!!

This Fairfield is very clean, from the bathroom to the bed and living area, everything (on my March 2026 stay there) was above average CLEAN. This is my #1 priority. Secondly, the linens and towels were a nice mid-grade option. I really hate thin towels or poor mattress/sheets at Super 8 (haven't been forced to stay at one since 2011). The bed and furnishings were nice, Third, AM breakfast routine was a pleasure. There were scrambled eggs and protein choices plus great coffee and the usual juice concentrate machine. Other stuff to eat, but I'm set on my favorite items. Forth, the staff was very nice and helpful. Never in the way but always available. Nice job there. Fifth, the location is convenient enough, not right on top of noisy I-35 but close enough. It is not in a crazy '13 hotel complex', but it is a block from the mall and only a few blocks to favorite eating places like Raising Cain's and Chick fil-A, Longhorn Steakhouse, etc. H.E.B. grocery store nearby, Lastly, security seemed OK for the area. No disturbances (or even sirens) during my week- long stay. I will definitely choose the Laredo Fairfield Inn again when I travel there and hope it is maintained like it is at the present time.
